Ch.6363. War, Beginning
by fnovelpia
After completing myself by rectifying souls.
‘Tetra, I’m entrusting this to you.’
[Yes, I will follow your orders.]
While assigning Tetra as the commander of the fake war against humans, I began the operation to eliminate the Hive Mind in Pyongyang, the last boss-level monster remaining in North Korea.
‘First…’
To begin with, I prepared a large number of biological transport aircraft—Hive Wing Drakes—capable of flying without issue even above the clouds, and then kindly delivered special bombs placed inside their bodies.
These Drakes, flying from outside detection range and equipped with stealth capabilities thanks to the specialized psychic monsters they carried for detection defense, approached stealthily like stealth bombers and dropped their bombs.
These bombs, directly attached to their bellies, were naturally monsters themselves—special creatures created solely for the purpose of exploding.
These biological bombs resembled tadpoles, with the head portion being the explosive while the tail served to adjust the drop position by wiggling.
Normally, these biological bombs should detonate with a magnificent explosion upon direct impact with the enemy, but… this time seems to be an exception.
Wooooo—CRACK!
BOOOOOOOM!!!!!!
The moment the bombs reached a certain altitude, they suddenly crumpled and exploded along with a flow of psychic energy.
And this psychic energy that caused the explosion extended further, attacking even the Hive Wing Drakes hiding beyond in the clouds.
Grrrrrr…
Whoooosh.
Despite their high resistance stats, they instantly turned into chunks of meat under the powerful psychic attack, presumably telekinesis, befitting a 0-rank psychic user.
I lost hundreds of mid-tier monsters to this excellent interception skill, but it doesn’t matter.
‘Now. Warp now.’
Woong—.
After all, this air raid was meant to prevent them from blocking the Special Orders’ warp.
—Splash.
Nine Special Orders attached to Giant Armor specifically designed to amplify psychic teleportation range warped in, and this phenomenon simultaneously occurred with 500 Giant Armors that had been filling the hangar.
These 5,000 monster special forces teleported to designated locations based on previously gathered intelligence, and the moment their feet touched the ground.
RATATATATATATATA—!!
PEEEW PEEEW PEEEW PEEEW—!!!!
FWOOOOSH—KABOOOOM!!!
The special forces composed of monsters began their destructive activities, freely using human weapons they held in their hands.
First, the lieutenant—the so-called Special Order Sergeant—was dealing with approaching monsters with a sword in one hand and a pistol in the other.
The Sergeant, self-enhanced with reinforcement-type psychic abilities, cut down enemies with an energy sword while simultaneously using a psychic submachine gun or plasma pistol to keep enemies at bay.
A short distance from the lieutenant, four shooters were sweeping away both the surroundings and monsters using laser machine guns or live ammunition cannons without restraint.
Normally, using armor-piercing high-explosive rounds despite the presence of bio-cores would be highly inefficient due to ammunition logistics, but with space-type psychics storing the shells, they could freely demonstrate the overwhelming destructive power unique to armor-piercing high-explosive rounds.
Next to the shooters, two heavy weapons specialists were pouring firepower with truly massive heavy weapons in their hands and additional weapons mounted on auxiliary arms extending from their shoulders.
Quad rocket launchers, aircraft Vulcan cannons, Giant Armor plasma launchers, and single-shot energy main guns typically used as tank cannons.
Thanks to automatic reloading through space-type psychics, they didn’t need to worry about ammunition, allowing them to focus on dealing with mid-tier armored monsters trying to stop them.
And a bit further back, two psychic-specialized Special Orders were supporting the front lines with psychic amplification devices.
One applied reinforcement-type psychics to support allies overall, while the other flexibly used manifestation-type psychics to perform both offense and defense simultaneously.
Pointing psychic amplification devices that resembled fantasy novel magic staves at enemies, sometimes swinging them at approaching enemies while surrounded by psychic energy, they performed their unique roles.
And since most of the squad (8 units) except the Sergeant focused on ranged combat, close combat was handled by the Sergeant together with the Giant Armor that had assisted with teleportation.
In one hand, they wielded a plasma weapon (arm) resembling the arm of Monster-verse Mecha■zilla capable of both close and ranged combat, and in the other, a massive shield large enough to cover their entire body.
They used these weapons by swinging charged plasma arms with increased power and blocking attacks with shields to deal with large monsters with high resistance to ranged firepower.
Meanwhile, the two auxiliary arms extending from their backs over their shoulders used extremely powerful heavy weapons—almost artillery-grade—to attack multiple enemies.
One was often a weapon capable of rapid fire like a quad anti-aircraft cannon, while the other was typically a weapon for single target sniping like a high-output laser cannon.
With these Giant Armors designed to handle various enemies fighting on the front lines, the platoon’s destructive operations naturally became more stable.
And the results were, of course, quite excellent.
Although more than half of the 5,000 Special Orders—exactly 3,311—ultimately died without escaping Pyongyang, they diligently destroyed enemy biological facilities until their very last breath…
They razed facilities that primarily produced troublesome monsters among the 50 mid-tier monster production facilities, and even managed to discover and destroy a high-tier monster that was being created.
Additionally, Special Orders sent to energy-nutrient storage facilities actively used their powers to blow away a significant portion of the creature’s nutrient reserves.
It was one of the best outcomes possible for deploying just 5,000 troops, and naturally, the Pyongyang Hive Mind that became the victim of this achievement was—extremely angry.
‘W-wow…’
Waves of anger spread through the psychic domain from Pyongyang, and the fury was so intense that the vibrations reaching me were enough to shake the psychic domain corresponding to the Korean Peninsula.
Of course, these were vibrations I could shake off with a simple gesture like dusting my hands, but since these vibrations weren’t meant for attack in the first place, it didn’t matter.
What was more important was that the enraged Pyongyang Hive Mind had decided to actively oppose me and began moving its forces.
※ ※ ※
Befitting a monster with excellent intellectual abilities from the mental fusion of seven 1st-rank Hive Minds, it managed to contain the damage in about 12 minutes and immediately began moving its legion.
This creature’s legion, mostly resembling twisted arthropods like spiders and scorpions, was primarily composed of close-combat monsters like typical Hive Mind forces.
An army of several billion was organized in an instant from wherever they had been hidden, and this monster legion quickly evacuated from Pyongyang.
And surprisingly, the target of this legion was my territory, specifically the area where my main body was located.
‘Is this the power of a 0-rank monster?’
I was somewhat surprised by its skill in uncannily discovering the location of my base through unknown means, but my surprise ended there.
Right now, I needed to stop the flood of monsters rushing in like madmen.
As mentioned earlier, the Pyongyang Hive Mind’s legion was primarily close-combat infantry.
Most were covered in chitin-like monster biomaterial armor with excellent production efficiency and performance, and basically everyone had at least one pair of hunter claws.
Rather than evolving toward ranged firepower like me, they tended to use various unique biological armaments obtained from other monsters, like typical Hive Minds.
The most common ranged weapon among Pyongyang’s monsters was acidic liquid, and many also used various forms of poison.
Additionally, high-tier units readily possessed hunter claws with high-frequency vibration blade principles—vibrate claws—which I had avoided using due to efficiency issues.
They even had totem-like commanders who strengthened surrounding units using chemical substances similar to pheromones combined with psychic abilities, as well as irregular monsters with deliberately induced mutations.
My army, modeled after humans with mid to long-range focused troops, versus the Pyongyang Hive Mind’s army, developed purely from a monster’s perspective and specialized in close combat.
While their approaches differed, neither could be called more correct or superior—
—RATATATATATATATATATA!!!
At least for now, I could cautiously say that my side had a slight advantage.
