Ch.6363. Fairy (3)
by fnovelpia
After the Fairy Princess and her subordinates settled in the small Aleinos Forest atop the Tarasque, thanks to the power of pudding.
[Grow, flowers!]
[Life force that embraces and protects!]
The first task Sophia and I undertook was creating dwellings for the fairies to live in.
Taking advantage of the fairies’ characteristic of eating flower nectar as their staple food and behaving like bees that transfer pollen, the fairy village that Sophia and I created together was incredibly beautiful.
On the ground, flowers of all colors grew to form a beautiful flower garden, while in the central area, trees averaging about 2-3 meters tall had sprouted.
These trees, which curved wildly like waves and had an unusually large number of knots and holes, were actually homes prepared for the fairies and also fully living organisms in their own right.
These tree houses, communal dwellings for fairies who are about 10-30cm tall, have interiors that are more spacious than they appear from outside, as is the case with most magical structures.
Particularly, inside these homes created with the “Nature’s Hut” spell, furniture and household items sized appropriately for their residents (fairies) are arranged.
To the casual observer, they might look like toy dollhouses for children’s play, but being functional items, they weren’t much different from my own home.
“Wow… it’s like a real palace! Is this my house?”
When the Fairy Princess Tristia first saw the small “Nature’s Hut” I had created, she seemed impressed by its appearance, but… her statement was actually incorrect.
“This isn’t your home.”
“What?”
“There’s a separate palace. You’re a different size, so I naturally prepared something else for you.”
Tristia, who momentarily seemed crestfallen, brightened up at my following words… then suddenly looked around at the scenery and asked curiously.
“So, are these homes for my people?”
“Yes, that’s right. One house for each of them. I’ve made about 600 so far.”
“Ohhh…!!”
She must have really liked my gift. With quite an enthusiastic reaction, Tristia looked around the houses and smiled as if genuinely happy.
‘…So fairies can be this altruistic.’
Even though she’s a Fairy Princess, rarely possessing a sense of concept among fairies, how often would the nobles they emulate truly care about their subjects or be altruistic?
Even those who cherish their subjects as personal assets would be in the top 1% in terms of character.
Most nobles, who are rarely incompetent thanks to the screening system (mid-tier achievement), typically treat their subjects as tools or consumables to be used for their goals.
As a result, while Tristia smiled brightly, exceeding my expectations in many ways, the Fairy Princess’s relocation plan proceeded according to the soul-binding magical contract.
The fairies and sprites under Tristia, the Fairy Princess, moved their physical forms here one by one.
About 41 High Fairies, who boast a size of around 20-30cm and have relatively high intelligence and judgment.
About 237 common fairies, small but making up the majority of the population.
A total of 278 fairies crossed over and chose homes they liked one by one, but the sprites under Tristia weren’t just fairies.
“Woof! Woof! Friend!!”
“Friend! Friend good!!”
“…They’re small.”
“They’re so cute…!!”
Small puppies that captured Astra and Robo’s hearts.
These 12 fairy dogs, looking like Welsh Corgis, were also sprites following Tristia.
These small puppies, barking and whimpering, may look like just small and cute Welsh Corgis, but they are firmly classified as sprites.
Thanks to this, they migrated together with the fairies and were able to blend naturally into the forest environment.
And so, new residents joined the “Tarasque of the Small Aleinos Forest.”

After the fairy group led by Fairy Princess Tristia joined the village.
These sprites, who were a bit awkward at first, naturally adapted to this environment over time.
The sprites fluttering their small wings across the flower garden may appear to be just playing as they please, but…
I, who observed the fairies for healing purposes during my daily rest periods, could understand.
Why, among sprites who are mostly lacking in sociability, fairies are uniquely evaluated as living in societies.
While some sprites in this world are close to extensions of the natural environment, fairies do not fall into this category.
Since fairies are clearly tangible living beings,
they naturally need regular food supplies to survive and maintain their physical and magical existence.
Of course, the amount of food needed by fairies, who are quite magical beings, isn’t much.
At most, they only need to eat a tiny bit of honey each day, and eating more doesn’t make much difference.
Also, most fairies cannot inhabit environments with excessively low mystical and magical concentrations, and if they lack magic to maintain their existence for some reason or get injured, they can recover by drinking the mystical morning dew.
Therefore, since these resources are essential for the survival of fairies as a species,
half of a fairy’s waking hours are spent playing, and the other half is devoted to collecting honey or dew.
Specifically, from the Fairy Flowers I planted around their dwellings.
This magical plant, adapted to the environment where fairies live, is a plant that coexists with sprites, especially fairy-type sprites, as its name suggests.
From their shape to size and color, they are so diverse that it’s hard to believe these colorful flowers are the same species, but in reality, all these vibrant flowers are classified as Fairy Flowers.
The flower part of the Fairy Flower blooms year-round if the environment is suitable, continuously producing unique honey, and fairies seeking this honey transfer the Fairy Flower’s pollen to other Fairy Flowers.
Additionally, the Fairy Flower’s fruit forms below the flower while it’s blooming, and these blueberry-sized fruits are sweet enough to be perfect snacks for fairies.
Furthermore, the leaf structure allows dew to collect and pool.
This plant, which could be said to be created solely for fairies, has a deep symbiotic relationship with sprites.
And watching this fairy kingdom moving like children playing house through these Fairy Flowers, I thought:
‘How cute…’
It’s like watching an idle city-building game.
Unlike humans tainted by the mundane world, these sprites with expressions revealing their unique innocence, working diligently, heal my heart.
They earnestly collect flower honey and dew, and shoot light bullets from their fingertips to repel approaching insects.
The collected honey is stored in small jars carved from wood, then transported by dog carts attached to waddling Welsh Corgis.
While these fairy groups appear purely cute and innocent, I had seen with my own eyes that they weren’t just parasites taking up space, so I considered the fairies as a force to be reckoned with.
A few days ago, a group of goblins suddenly appeared approaching the Tarasque, which had temporarily merged with the ground for reorganization.
Knowing that leaving wild goblins, who are cannibals, in the forest would bring no good, and thinking the scale was appropriate, I dispatched them to test the fairies’ abilities…
The fairies completely and one-sidedly hunted down about 190 goblins.
A fairy’s main attack is shooting magic as bullets, but the power is only equivalent to swinging a baseball bat and rapid fire is impossible.
With a limit of one shot every 10 seconds, their firepower isn’t particularly high.
However, the fairies under Tristia received double enhancement from both the High Fairies’ strengthening abilities and the Fairy Princess’s enhancement abilities, resulting in firepower equivalent to being pounded with sledgehammers.
The shower of light bullets, fired from ambush from their small hidden bodies, crushed the fragile goblins’ entire bodies, and after being enhanced by the Fairy Princess’s magic, they had enough power to pulverize even bones.
I can’t guarantee they would be effective against all mid-tier beings, but the fact that low-tier beings could band together to check a mid-tier was enough to justify recruiting them.
‘…This is successful.’
Not to mention the added benefit of increasing the mystical level of the Aleinos Forest itself due to the numerous sprites residing there.
