Ch.62[Chapter 62] Parallel Universe

Sir Dominic heard a sound while choosing a bed at a furniture store.

A high-pitched scream like that of a woman.

Sir Dominic thought he had misheard, but soon he caught the faint sound of clashing metal and shouts filled with anger and fear.

“Customer, this is a single bed but it’s almost like a double—”

    “Excuse me. I’ll return later.”

Sir Dominic apologized to the employee and ran out of the store.

On his way, he bumped into a woman wearing sunglasses and a mask, but Sir Dominic apologized, helped her up, and continued running.

Sir Dominic was a knight, and knights cannot ignore injustice.

A woman’s scream and the sound of clashing metal.

    Something was clearly happening.

Sir Dominic ran toward the source of the sound.

After passing through narrow alleys and winding through maze-like paths, the sound of clashing metal grew louder.

The sound of sword against shield, and sword against sword.

Having spent much time on battlefields, Sir Dominic could distinguish these subtle sounds.

The fighting sounds were getting louder.

He seemed to be heading in the right direction.

And when he turned into an even narrower alley—

“Is this all you’ve got? You’re worse than goblins!”

    Colorful feathers adorning the head.

Dressed in Ferallant knight’s uniform, wielding a sword and shield.

Emerald eyes. An eye patch over one eye.

And a twisted happiness evident in the smiling mouth.

“Get up and fight! Can you even call yourselves thieves?”

    There stood another Sir Dominic.

…With something terrifying attached to the chest.

Is this what Sir Dominic would look like as a woman?

The other Sir Dominic before his eyes was happily stomping on a fallen thief with high-heeled combat boots.

Sir Dominic was momentarily stunned by this absurd situation, but soon remembered the event.

Parallel world. Another self from a different world.

Surely the other Sir Dominic before him was someone who appeared through the event.

    “That’s enough. It’s unbecoming of a knight.”

Sir Dominic first stopped the other Sir Dominic who was stomping on those who had no intention of fighting anymore.

“Who dares command me? I decide my own path! …It’s me.”

The other Sir Dominic wore a dumbfounded expression.

The other Sir Dominic looked at Sir Dominic and thought they resembled each other.

A knight with colorful feathers in their hair, wearing an eye patch, and wielding a sword and shield.

But his chest was flat, and he seemed slightly taller.

“Another me, ah. I see. The parallel world event.”

The other Sir Dominic seemed to know about the event and nodded in understanding.

“Nice to meet you, another Lady Dominica. Or is it Sir Dominica here?”

“Sir Dominic of Ferallant. Lady Dominica. How fascinating to meet another version of myself.”

They introduced themselves with knightly courtesy.

The other Sir Dominic, who introduced herself as Dominica, looked at Sir Dominic with curiosity.

Apart from gender and personality, everything else was almost identical, like looking in a mirror.

Sir Dominic was equally fascinated by Sir Dominica.

Though she showed signs of battlefield hardship, Sir Dominica’s skin looked soft and supple.

Moreover, looking at that formidable chest, he wondered if it wasn’t uncomfortable during combat.

“Usually in gender-swap stories, the chest is, you know, there.”

An unexpected sexual harassment. But Sir Dominic seemed quite accustomed to it, nodding and brushing it off.

“What good is size when it’s not used?”

Sir Dominic dusted off his pants.

“Excuse me, could you please let me down?”

The Star I’m Not Little was still dangling from a snare, swinging back and forth.

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica, who had been chatting casually as if they’d hit it off, finally noticed the Star.

A moment later, the Star was able to stand on the ground again.

The pouch of Gacha Stones that had been taken was returned as well.

“Thank you. Thanks to you, I was able to escape danger.”

The Star expressed gratitude to the two knights.

Though outwardly polite, the Star was actually boiling with excitement inside.

My goodness, two Sir Dominics? Double the fan service?

The Star I’m Not Little, who prided himself as a fervent fan of Sir Dominic, became as happy as a devoted fan receiving fan service.

The Star calmed his excited heart and carefully compared the two knights.

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica resembled each other like siblings, but their personalities seemed somewhat different.

Sir Dominic, knightly yet with a beast-like charm.

Sir Dominica, beast-like yet with knightly qualities.

Since the event had just started, he was surely the first to see these two together.

The Star I’m Not Little thought he had made the right choice becoming Sir Dominic’s fan.

“So, how did you end up getting caught?”

    Sir Dominica asked.

    “You were captured?”

“Yes. Fortunately, I witnessed those thieves stealing money and running away, or I might have tarnished a knight’s honor.”

Sir Dominica resolved Sir Dominic’s question.

Sir Dominic stroked his chin, wondering if he should have let Sir Dominica continue beating the thieves.

“Anyway, thank you! Today is the day when the card I want is added to the card pack, so I was carrying a lot of Gacha Stones.”

I’m Not Little, in the form of a young girl, feigned innocence while expressing gratitude.

Thinking that if this story were broadcast, it would surely get billions of views on GachaTube.

    “Where were you headed?”

“Yes. It’s dangerous alone, isn’t it, Lady?”

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica tried to help the girl out of concern.

Sir Dominic bent at the waist from his upright posture to look down at I’m Not Little, while Sir Dominica thrust out her chest, pounding it confidently with her fist.

Of course, judging by the contours visible through her clothes, it wasn’t just confidence that was being displayed.

“I-I’m sorry! I can manage on my own!”

I’m Not Little, unable to bear the doubled fan enthusiasm, fled the scene.

Sir Dominic raised his hand to call after the girl, but Sir Dominica stopped him.

“This isn’t Ferallant. We might get involved in something strange if we’re not careful. Well, we’ve already experienced enough strangeness, I suppose.”

Sir Dominica shook her head as if she’d experienced such things before and was tired of it.

“Come to think of it, I heard there’s an event stage where you can interact with your parallel self.”

“Ah, right. That’s true. I almost forgot. Let’s go right away. I recently bought a house and I’m a bit short on resources. I hope they give plenty.”

Although Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica had different personalities, perhaps because they were originally one, they got along quickly.

The two left the alley and began searching for clues about the event stage.

And there was a gaze watching them.

    “Could it be my brother?”

The identity of that gaze was Dr. Banshee.

Dr. Banshee, wondering if Sir Dominic might be her brother, began observing from a distance where Sir Dominic wouldn’t notice, wearing sunglasses and a mask.

When she bumped into him at the furniture store and fell, she thought she’d been completely discovered, but fortunately, it seemed her identity remained hidden.

Following Sir Dominic, Dr. Banshee thought there was a high probability he was her brother based on his sense of justice and clumsiness.

That was before seeing Sir Dominica.

“I never had an older sister.”

Dr. Banshee was confused. When Sir Dominica, who looked exactly like Sir Dominic and was presumed to be his sibling, appeared, all the hypotheses Dr. Banshee had built crumbled.

In fact, Dr. Banshee didn’t even know about the event.

Immersed in research, Dr. Banshee had turned off notifications that kept popping up and annoying her, so she knew nothing about the event content.

Not knowing that another self from a parallel world was coming, the current situation looked like siblings having a friendly conversation.

Dr. Banshee was all the more confused because she only had one brother.

“Maybe it’s just someone who resembles my brother, not actually him?”

But Dr. Banshee knew that Sir Dominic was from Ferallant.

The emblem on Sir Dominic’s flag was that of Ferallant.

Could there be a stranger who shares the same hometown, looks similar, and even has similar habits? This thought made Dr. Banshee even more confused.

“I should go back for now. I need to organize my thoughts.”

Her head throbbed as if her brain was overloading from thinking too much.

Dr. Banshee thought that no matter how much she pondered the current situation, she would either reach no conclusion or the wrong one.

Dr. Banshee watched Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica as they began to walk away in the distance.

Then she turned and walked toward the Black Group’s secret laboratory.

    But Dr. Banshee didn’t know.

    “Could it be my sister?”

“I never had an older brother.”

At a spot exactly symmetrical to the utility pole where she had hidden, a boy who resembled her was agonizing in exactly the same way.
