Ch.62Alaska
by fnovelpia
“We’ve arrived, miss.”
The chauffeur opened the rear door.
Soon, a petite girl slowly stepped out of the car.
“I almost fell asleep waiting-.”
Sohee pressed her hat down firmly.
She wore her hood pulled up over her hat meticulously and looked up at the old building.
An abandoned factory in Gasan-dong.
She had received a call from the kidnappers and headed straight here.
The reason was simple.
To collect the merchandise she had ordered.
Sohee hummed a tune while imagining the girl’s battered face.
Then she followed Jiho, her driver and bodyguard, up the stairs.
Now forty years old, he was a retired hunter who had once been a ranker.
Jiho asked his young mistress with a somewhat anxious expression.
“What exactly have you done this time, miss…”
Despite being a former ranker, he had no choice but to follow Sohee’s orders.
She was inherently willful, and if he didn’t comply with her requests, she would throw unbearable tantrums.
“You didn’t kidnap and threaten honor students again, did you?”
Jiho had mentioned the girl’s issues to her father multiple times.
But the doting congressman, who was also Jiho’s colleague, simply asked him to do whatever his daughter wanted.
Something about filling the void left by her mother.
With such a complicated excuse, Jiho had no choice in the matter.
“Don’t worry. I’ll handle this without Dad finding out.”
Sohee hummed an idol song with her hands in her hoodie pockets.
Her expression was full of excitement.
“Is this the place? Why did this guy call us to the third floor? Maybe I should give him a one-star review.”
She turned the corner, following the moonlight.
Then she came face to face with two men wearing black masks.
Sohee’s lips curled up involuntarily at the sight of them.
At the hunters’ feet was a sack large enough to fit a person.
“You’re later than expected.”
“We weren’t told the target had a car.”
The kidnapper answered in an indifferent voice.
He cut to the chase without preamble.
“The instructor you mentioned is in here. Hand over the money as promised.”
The hunter extended his hand.
But contrary to his demand, Sohee’s expression remained rather unimpressed.
She snorted with her arms crossed.
“I haven’t even checked the contents yet-. You did bring her alive, right?”
“See for yourself.”
The hunter nudged the sack lightly with his foot.
The fallen black bag revealed the curves of a woman.
“I asked you to break a bone or two. Makes her easier to handle.”
Sohee openly admired those curves.
Recognizing that the silhouette was unmistakably Siho, she murmured softly.
“Professor… you should never have challenged me.”
The girl approached leisurely to collect her package.
She slowly lifted the sack upright.
“Don’t worry. I’ll let you live… Let’s go to our villa…”
The girl began to untie the sack while envisioning a blissful future with her doll.
Her hands trembled with excitement.
“There, you can forget about school and lectures and just have fun.”
Sohee soon untied the sack.
At last, she could see the black hair of the professor she had so desperately wanted.
But…
“Hello, Sohee.”
The girl’s face froze in place.
The professor’s face, which should have been battered, was pristine.
Instead, she was smiling.
With a fresh, bright smile.
“We’ll have to postpone the fun. There’s somewhere we need to go first.”
Siho held a phone in her hand.
On her screen, a recording button was happily spinning.
“The Hunter Association’s Security Division.”
The professor smiled wickedly.
Sohee’s finger pointed at the recording button.
Her finger trembled so much it seemed she had developed a tremor at such a young age.
“No way… you recorded everything?”
“Not just recording. I have a small camera too.”
I pointed to the ceiling with a grin.
Soon, Sohee and her bodyguard looked up at the small camera on the ceiling.
The camera blinked red, as if greeting them.
“What’s going on with you people! Is this what I hired you for?!”
Sohee shouted at the kidnappers.
They shook their heads with pale expressions.
“…!”
The girl soon realized why their faces had turned white.
Something shiny was wrapped around the kidnappers’ necks.
“Piano wire…?”
Sharp, keen piano wire extended into the darkness.
Soon, the sound of walking boots emerged from that darkness.
Cloudy white eyes.
The killer appeared, holding the kidnappers’ lifelines in both hands.
“Save us…”
The kidnappers muttered in trembling voices.
That trembling soon spread to Sohee.
“What the hell is going on?”
Her legs gave out at the sight of the killer who had appeared before her.
She could only sit on the cold floor, looking up at the white-eyed woman.
Pure white beauty.
The girl was mesmerized by this new form of beauty she had never seen before.
The killer approached until she was right in front of her.
She unconsciously reached out toward Anna.
At that moment.
“—!”
Sohee was snatched away by someone.
It was her bodyguard, Jiho.
“Miss, step back.”
Jiho calmly looked Anna up and down.
White eyes devoid of emotion.
A well-trained physique hidden beneath her jacket.
The bodyguard quickly realized that Anna was no ordinary person.
Having worked in special forces long before the Gate opened, he had a keen eye.
“This woman. She’s a killer.”
He pulled out a three-section staff from inside his jacket.
When he swung it forcefully through the air, the staff extended to form something like a sword.
“We don’t want to fight. We’ve already achieved our objective.”
Siho waved her phone at the two tense individuals.
Hearing this, the bodyguard slowly lowered his mistress to the floor.
“Let’s retreat for now. It’s dangerous.”
The bodyguard intended to escort his mistress to the first floor.
But she roughly pushed away Jiho’s hand.
With a contorted expression, her eyes bulging, the girl said:
“What are you saying? You want us to leave that recorder behind? Are you crazy?”
She hurled insults at her father’s friend without hesitation.
Sohee was already beyond reason.
“What happens if that gets broadcast? Dad, me, everyone—we’re finished!”
Jiho took a deep breath.
His thick eyebrows twitched.
“Understand? We can’t leave until we get that back. Absolutely not!”
She screamed again with manic eyes.
Finally, Jiho heaved a deep sigh.
He slowly removed his suit jacket and placed it on the ground.
His bulging muscles rippled beneath his shirt.
Anna watched this expressionlessly.
She handed the piano wire she was holding to Siho in the sack.
Like giving a balloon to a child.
“Pull this if they interfere.”
The killer’s brutal words sent chills down my spine.
If pulled, the kidnappers’ necks would all be severed.
Moonlight illuminated the center of the abandoned building.
Beneath it, two hunters faced each other.
One, a rising killer.
The other, a hunter preparing for retirement.
Dust floated in the light.
Soon, that dust swirled in all directions.
Two weapons clashed simultaneously, cutting through the air.
A dagger and a three-section staff.
The two metal implements growled at each other, spitting red sparks.
The man indeed used his thick muscles to overpower the dagger with strength.
Anna could barely hold on, raising her knife with both hands.
Soon the killer’s dagger slipped.
The slipping dagger immediately targeted Jiho’s hand holding the staff.
The hunter twisted his body in the direction of the attack.
This caused Anna to lurch forward.
The experienced hunter didn’t miss the opportunity to strike her staggering body.
A straight punch to the abdomen.
Anna’s face, which had remained expressionless even when punched by the kidnapper, momentarily grimaced.
But Anna was also an active ranker.
Swallowing the pain that spilled from her mouth, she immediately slashed the hunter’s shoulder.
After exchanging blows, the two stepped back.
“Mister, what are you doing! Against a crazy bitch like her…!”
Sohee shouted at the hunter with a bewildered expression.
She had never seen Jiho injured before.
Having thought him to be the best among existing bodyguards, she was shocked by the red blood streaming down his shoulder.
“I’m sorry…”
The hunter clutched his throbbing wound.
But his gaze remained fixed on Anna.
“I should have brought a longsword.”
Anna muttered.
She held her twisted stomach and spat cynically.
“Anna, are you okay? We’ve already secured the evidence, so there’s no need to fight.”
I looked at the killer with concern.
I was worried because I had rarely seen her allow a hit.
That’s how formidable this bodyguard was.
“No. It’s been a while since I’ve had an interesting opponent. I want to continue.”
Anna narrowed her eyes.
Her angel-white eyes looked at me and smiled.
I felt a chill from that gaze.
Her white eyebrows and eyes made her seem like something other than human.
Jiho looked at us and rolled up his sleeves.
Then he slowly began to close the distance.
In response, Anna raised her dagger.
In an instant, the two were face to face, just one step apart.
“—!”
The two weapons clashed again.
The staff aiming for the neck.
The dagger targeting the side.
Anna lowered her body to avoid the staff.
Jiho twisted his body to deflect the knife.
The two rankers twisted their weapon-wielding wrists for a counterattack.
They met in front of each other’s hearts, sparks flying.
I watched anxiously.
Had there ever been someone who could match Anna for so long?
At most, only Security Chief Lee Dae-eun…
I was very worried about her giving her all because of me.
“Damn, what should I do…”
I focused on their fight with my hands clasped.
But at that moment.
My hands stiffened as if paralyzed.
As if someone else was controlling my body.
“Professor.”
It was Sohee.
While the two were fighting, Sohee had somehow approached from behind me.
“You shouldn’t have let your guard down.”
The girl’s soft arm wrapped around my neck.
Soon her chest pressed against my back, and she caressed my hand holding the recorder.
“Give me that.”
But I didn’t yield.
I curled up like an insect and resisted.
“No…”
Fortunately, Sohee’s ability wasn’t to control the entire body.
If I could just hold out until Anna won…
However, things didn’t go as I hoped.
Sohee gradually took stronger control of my arm.
My hand holding the phone was gradually forced upward as if being punished.
The girl easily grasped my extended arm with one hand.
In the end, I became like a bound slave.
“Professor, you’re no match for me-.”
The girl smiled seductively, as if she had won.
Though only eighteen years old, her face already possessed a feminine and fatal charm.
With one hand, she easily took my phone and lightly kissed my cheek.
My defenseless face turned red.
“If only you had been a transfer student.”
Her trembling breath tickled my nose.
The child smiled provocatively and rubbed my chest with her finger.
The part of the shirt pressed by her finger protruded in the shape of a bra.
“Then I would have treated you preciously. Unlike that wolf bitch…”
The word “wolf” struck my ear.
I didn’t care what she said about me.
But she shouldn’t have touched Jiyun.
The wounds all over her body.
How could she speak so proudly after doing such things?
I slowly lowered my head.
And curled up with my knees together.
Sohee smiled, thinking I was submitting to her.
She bent down to see my miserable expression.
But.
Soon her relaxed smile turned to bewilderment.
When I raised my head again, a small potion was clenched between my teeth.
A small glass vial from my chest pocket.
Inside was a cocktail.
Ice-cold and blue.
<Blue Alaska>
Grade: ★★★☆
Effect: Freezes (makes invincible) the target who consumes or is sprinkled with it for 10 minutes.
Information: Blue curaçao added to the original Alaska cocktail. A premium cocktail with a blue tint.
My sharp canines crushed the cap.
Soon, blue liquid spilled onto my chest.
“How cute, our Sohee.”
I narrowed my eyes and smiled.
My tear duct winked at Sohee.
“If you wanted to stop me, you shouldn’t have blocked my arm.”
That provocative smile Sohee had worn?
Somehow, I’d learned to make it too.
“You should have covered my mouth first.”
Soon we froze together.
Quietly waiting for the rankers’ fight to end.
