    Ch.5959. Special Order

    Pyongyang’s 0-Rank Hive Mind.

Excluding myself, these creatures—the last remaining power in the northern Korean Peninsula—are fundamentally different from the monsters I’ve faced until now.

Previously, I could gather information about my opponents and amass overwhelming forces to defeat them completely. But against this enemy, Pyongyang’s 0-Rank Hive Mind, such tactics are impossible.

Simply put, there’s no way to gather or create forces capable of overwhelming a 0-Rank monster.

The 0-Rank monsters, classified as top-tier, are in a completely different league from the high-rank monsters I’ve faced before.

Their power output is typically 4-5 times that of high-rank monsters, and each possesses a unique S-rank characteristic that no other monster has, except for other 0-Rank monsters of the same type.

Of course, the 0-Rank monster I must face—Pyongyang’s Hive Mind—possesses the Psychic Entity (S) characteristic like other 0-Rank Hive Minds, but…

The problem is that unlike typical 0-Rank Hive Minds with Psychic Entity (S), this one is a fusion of seven Hive Queens.

This monster, the result of an indescribably bizarre mental unification of same-species monsters, is honestly a type that didn’t exist in the game, so I couldn’t know what abilities it might have.

Fortunately, knowing the boss hierarchy from the game, I can roughly estimate its power—and to understand this, one must first know the boss hierarchy in the game.

The boss hierarchy indicates the power order of bosses assuming they’re of the same rank.

It consists of six levels, with Field Bosses being the weakest.

Field Bosses, which appear when you wait in specific fields, are just slightly stronger elite monsters despite being called bosses.

The next level up, Dungeon Bosses, are monsters that have made caves or certain terrains their lairs. They’re typically final bosses of events and the ultimate farming targets.

Regional Bosses are even more powerful than Dungeon Bosses—simply put, they’re rulers of specific regions, like fire dragons or mountain lords.

To tackle a Regional Boss, you typically need five parties of players at the same level (each party consisting of five players), along with all the NPC mercenaries they can hire, and even then, defeats are common.

Then there’s the National Boss level, which is where I could be considered to be.

If a full-scale war with an entire nation is established, it’s usually considered a National Boss. These are often treated as background elements in the game.

If they were to die somehow, the consequences would be unmanageable, so they’re often placed in inaccessible areas.

And then there’s the level where I believe the Pyongyang Hive Mind belongs—the Story Boss.

Like the Earth Dragon (giant worm) from the fourth installment, they’re the final boss of a server’s story mode, and by an unspoken rule, they always appear as 0-Rank monsters or higher.

Their power varies slightly depending on the server… but in the Korean server, think of it as powerful enough to drive a nation to the brink of annihilation.

Well, there’s also the World Boss, the final boss of mega-events targeting the entire world (all servers), but that’s an exception as it’s non-standard and not part of the main storyline.

Anyway, facing the 0-Rank Pyongyang Hive Mind head-on would result in mutual destruction at best, even if I mobilized my entire legion. So I need to think differently.

No matter how transcendent its power as a 0-Rank monster, it’s still a Hive Mind, meaning about half of its power must come from its legion.

Reconnaissance using Hive Flight revealed that more than half of its nearly 100 million troops are mid-rank and enhanced with special psychic abilities.

Of course, despite being only Rank 1, I’ve conquered such vast territories that my forces exceed theirs tenfold, and I have comparable numbers of high and mid-rank monsters.

But if these forces clash directly, even if we win, our losses would be devastating. So while adjusting my existing forces in detail, I decided to create a new military branch that, while not a decisive weapon, would consume enemy forces efficiently.

This would be a special force—one that could wear down the enemy through efficient combat and, if possible, strike at the enemy’s heart.

I decided to base this force on my masterpiece, the Ein human-form monster, the Hive Rider.

Since they were trained as cavalry, I adjusted their characteristics and skills accordingly, and I added various artificial organs through surgery.

Synthetic muscle fibers (A) developed from sacred light materials implanted under the skin for physical enhancement, dual skeletal structure (B) to increase body size, and nanomachine-coated skin (B) hardened to increase durability.

A second heart (A) that circulates regenerative substances through the blood vessels, a liver of life (B) that produces substances to detoxify various poisons and contaminants, and terrestrial gills (B) that supply oxygen even without breathing.

Universal eyes (B) that can see what’s normally invisible like infrared or psychic energy, hyper-senses (B) that expand perception range, and nutrient storage (B) that can store massive calories.

With these nine biological organs implanted, I finally created a monster that surpasses Rank 4.

The appearance of this monster, classified as Human-Ein type, was better than the Hive Riders it was based on.

While the face looks somewhat alien due to differences in nose and mouth structure, it’s reasonably presentable, with skin uniformly colored ink-black and no severely distorted parts.

Standing about 3.5 meters tall, these Special Orders generally resemble Hive Riders, but with one key difference: their equipment.

Unlike Hive Riders who use medieval fantasy-like armor, weapons, and obviously monstrous firearms, the Special Force’s equipment has an overall sci-fi yet realistic feel.

This difference in equipment isn’t merely cosmetic—these weapons are actually from Nano-Tech Corporation.

I used weapons that are actually being sold but have been superseded by newer models, for the purpose of certain deceptive operations.

Anyway, I created 1,000 of these Special Orders and divided them into 100 teams of 10 each.

This was to form a kind of platoon structure for more flexible command.

Each 10-member team has specific roles, with additional characteristics and skills assigned according to these roles.

One serves as a mid-level commander, like a lieutenant, while four are equipped with powerful rapid-fire weapons like machine guns or vulcans to shower the enemy with firepower.

Additionally, two use giant-class heavy weapons like rocket launchers or plasma cannons, and two support allies using manifestation and enhancement psychic abilities respectively.

The final member performs the most crucial role, using a specialized Giant Armor called a Teleport Pod to provide fire support, form psychic barriers, and significantly increase the teleport range that all team members can use.

This special force was created specifically to teleport right up to biological facilities, destroy them, and escape, so the longer their teleport range, the better.

Moreover, their equipment and tactics were thoroughly modeled after humans, specifically Nano-Tech Corporation’s hunters.

This was partly for efficiency, but also to achieve a greater objective.

That objective was a kind of bluffing directed at human society.
