Ch.593Battle Tournament Finals. (1)

After watching all kinds of users’ battles, the second round finally ended.
And shortly after…

<Third Round Preparation!>
<Those who passed the preliminaries can now enter the event map!>
—————————————–
With a “ding-a-ling♬” sound, a short message appeared before my eyes.
I nodded and quickly rallied my slightly disorganized fleet that had relaxed over the past two days, then hurriedly proceeded to enter the event map.
And the sight that greeted me upon entering was, well…
-“Battlefield information confirmed, black hole detected at 2 o’clock.”
“Wow, impressive.”
The natural terrain(?) consisted of a simple structure with absolutely nothing except for one large, beautiful black hole majestically rotating on one side of the map.
If you only looked at this much, it would give a “simple” and modern impression…
Unfortunately, only the battlefield itself was simple.
When I turned my gaze slightly to look around, I could see numerous “viewing screens” lined up like electronic billboards at the outer boundaries of the battlefield.
Looking at them gave me a rather strange feeling.
But that wasn’t important right now.
Just as I was about to assess the battlefield situation and let out a sigh…

<Third Round>
<‘Icarus’ vs ‘Dudonban’>
<Would you like to proceed with the battle?>
<*Both sides must agree for the battle to begin!>
<Y/N>
(Battle preparation complete: 1/2)
—————————————–
A message popped up before my eyes as if urging me to start quickly.
I hurriedly arranged my fleet formation and pressed Y to start the third round, responding to what seemed like a start message from the opposing user.
Less than an hour after the third round began, the opponent’s mindlessly charging patrol ships at maximum speed pushed toward my position.
Simultaneously, my reconnaissance ships discovered the enemy fleet, and the full-scale battle finally began…
The problem was, perhaps because we discovered each other too quickly or spotted each other from a distance far beyond the maximum firing range of both sides.
As soon as the user named Dudonban identified my fleet, they hastily began charging their fleet toward me, consisting mostly of battleship-class vessels except for a few light carriers.
Unfortunately for my opponent, I had “quite a few” means to strike at distances beyond normal firing range.
-“Enemy fleet is charging toward us.”
-“What should we do, Commander?”
“Jessica, how long until the enemy fleet comes within firing range?”
“About 10 minutes, no more than that even at the longest.”
“Then tell Ouroboros to charge energy for about 7-8 minutes and then fire the flame cannon at the enemy fleet.”
“Yes.”
“Also, contact Tiamat and tell her that Kraken Unit 1 should execute the spear strategy, while Units 2 and 3 should teleport all their carrier-based aircraft slightly ahead of the enemy fleet’s upper section for an assault.”
“I’ll relay those orders right away, Commander.”
As always, I planned to start with the Krakens’ amazing teleport maneuver to drive a big spear right into the enemy fleet’s main force.
Even if not with spears, I arranged for carrier-based aircraft to teleport to adjusted positions where they could pour down their weapons on the enemy fleet as it advanced.
Finally, while they were forming anti-aircraft networks to deal with the aircraft assault and not thinking about “evading artillery”…
-BWAAAAAAANG!
-KWABOOM!
“Three enemy ships presumed to be battleships have been sunk after direct hits from Ouroboros’s fire.”
“Wow, nice shot.”
Perhaps because they were just charging straight ahead, making them easy targets.
With Ouro joining in and taking out three battleship-class vessels in one shot.
I could vividly imagine the opposing user cursing up a storm, even though there was no chat room.
Of course, despite taking heavy damage, the user’s “main force” had barely been touched.
If anything, this seemed to enrage them further, as they began charging while launching carrier-based aircraft and missiles.
-“Enemy fleet launching missiles.”
-“Multiple torpedo wakes detected. They seem to be attempting to hit our fleet with inertial flight.”
“Tsk, tell Hresvelgr to intercept only those that look like they’ll hit our fleet directly, and tell the rest of the fleet to reorganize formation and prepare for concentrated attack on the enemy fleet.”
“Yes, Commander.”
Knowing that in this reality-based game, missiles and torpedoes don’t just disappear when they run out of fuel, I immediately gave the interception order.
“Lemings and Mecharshetentakel, stand by immediately behind both wing tips of the fleet. When the enemy fleet’s vanguard collides with our fleet, infiltrate between the enemy fleet and attack.”
-“Yes, Commander.”
-“L-leave it to, to me!”
“Rhodos and Spiraena on the right wing, launch your carrier-based aircraft and then form a battle line with the enemy fleet.”
-“Yes, Commander~”
-“I’ll be careful.”
“Avalonia and Oxianor on the left wing, gauge the situation and keep the enemy fleet in check, but don’t push too hard.”
-“Ah, yes.”
-“Understood, Commander Icarus.”
“And Alcazar, just fight steadily. They don’t have any super dreadnoughts anyway, so just focus on being our anvil and we’ll win.”
-“Yes, Commander!”
After giving simple orders to the mercenary units under my command about what they should do…
“Berial, take the Bellerophon-class as your flagship, and Decarabia, take the Rivadavia-class. Split the main force in half and each take charge of the upper and lower wings.”
“Yes.”
“Hey, then what will you be commanding, Commander?”
“I have Kraken, Ouroboros, Hresvelgr, and Neranjara, don’t I?”
“Ah, I see.”
Having completed the reorganization of my direct main force as well.
Meanwhile, the user whose eyes had rolled back in their head after being stabbed by our teleporting spears continued to mindlessly pour fire while charging.
I nodded as I watched Dudonban enter right into our crossfire formation, and ordered all fleets to return fire.
And naturally, the fleet caught in the crossfire began to be cut down indiscriminately, from patrol ships to battleships.
The opposing user seemed to finally realize what madness they had committed and hurriedly tried to pull their fleet back…
“The enemy fleet’s rear is trying to escape backward, Commander.”
“Not a chance. Avalonia and Rhodos from the left and right wings, cut off the enemy fleet’s retreat.”
Not realizing that we had more fleets that could be freely controlled, the opponent found themselves completely surrounded on all sides by our fleet.
-“Fire!”
Suddenly, beams, missiles, torpedoes, shells, and everything else flew in from all directions, pummeling their fleet.
Occasionally, Ouro’s 100% fully charged flame artillery or Hresvelgr’s strategic missile spears pierced into heavy cruisers or dreadnoughts like flower arrangements.
-“KYAAAAAAAH!!!”
-“There, stick it in there!”
As discussed earlier, Bendalof and Nero’s assault teams, which had been slightly withdrawn, dove between the fleet to pour out extreme damage.
Some even tried to infiltrate ships to capture them.
The opposing user, who had charged in without considering the difference in combat power, saw their mercenary units and faction detachments completely annihilated, and even some of their gacha ships in their main force destroyed.
Shortly after…

<Commander ‘Dudonban’ has surrendered!>
<Third Round End>
<Winner: Commander ‘Icarus’!>
<*From the third round onward, the fleets of victorious commanders will be automatically repaired after battles end!>
<You can participate in the next battle in 2 hours!>
—————————————–
After being completely surrounded and one-sidedly beaten, they finally surrendered.
With the added bonus of automatic damage repair for “winners,” I felt an extremely pleasant satisfaction.
