Ch.573Planet Exploration Complete!
by fnovelpia
One thing that was somewhat disappointing was that while I did finish the event quickly, I wasn’t overwhelmingly faster than other users.

“Everyone’s clearing it faster than I expected.”
“Well, physical Superhumans, especially S-rank or higher, can probably circle an entire planet in about a day.”
“I guess that’s true.”
Just as Jessica said, what was the reason for this?
Setting everything else aside, the problem was that compared to the performance of the “Superhumans” that users deployed, the “Ancient Empire’s” weapons we were facing were unnecessarily large in scale.
This was evident just by looking at the post with the most comments…

Title: What the hell, suddenly the planet transforms into a giant robot

Oh, your robot got destroyed by internal attacks
Ganbaruzo
It went down so easily, sweet ^^
Comments:
-[No, my giant robot!!!]
-[??? How did they destroy the Ancient Empire’s dream robot so easily?]
-˪[It’s exactly like the Grand Cross](Author)
-˪[It’s just big with mediocre internal defenses, so when Superhumans and Superhuman squads infiltrate and smash it up, how could it possibly hold up?](Author)
-[Ooooh]
-[How did you do it, you crazy bastard?]
-[The writer is right, I also encountered a giant robot, and once you infiltrate it, the Ancient Empire style is super weak]
-˪[Wow, really?]

‘Yeah, that’s actually true.’
Even during the past event, how pathetically did the Big Fucking Awesome Titan-class mobile fortress Grand Cross, which could “move entire planetary systems,” get defeated?
And I wasn’t the only one thinking this, as other users soon started sharing their opinions about the “difficulty” of this event.

Title: But it’s only natural that the current event difficulty is low for us

What even is the Ancient Empire style?
Everyone’s already figured it out through collective intelligence, and we know from responding to actual events:
These guys are obsessed with massive ships and guns, even more than the Earth Federation, and are completely infatuated with old-school giant weapons.
The problem is that while they might be formidable against similar-sized weapons, they’re ridiculously weak against “mobile weapons” or “Superhumans” that are overwhelmingly smaller than themselves.
So it’s only natural that users who brought Superhumans instead of ships due to event restrictions would easily crush an event featuring Ancient Empire-style giant weapons.
Comments:
-[For real lol]
-[The Ancient Empire has always been a bit unhinged]
-˪[Just look at the Grand Cross – despite its enormous size, it had absolutely no facilities to block teleportation or warping lol]
-˪[Oh yeah, that’s true too](Author)
-[Not just the Grand Cross, but their ships also severely lack defenses against carrier aircraft or Superhuman assault pods]
-˪[I lost my mind when I saw a destroyer with only ONE CIWS mounted on it]

Besides these, there were quite a few other miscellaneous discussions.
To summarize, there were many posts strongly emphasizing that “the Ancient Empire was being very Ancient Empire-like!”
Looking at these posts, I found them quite convincing.
And as the number of users in the gallery had increased significantly, other users preferred to share their “experiences” as stories rather than discussing the event’s difficulty.

Title: I don’t care about the event difficulty, I just had fun
Author: Chaoming
Content: [Image of riding a boss monster with a leash and bit attached.jpg]
Yeah
Thanks to our Superhumans sealing its head, it’s quite obedient
Feels like riding a huge mobile fortress Tyranno, absolutely thrilling
Comments:
-[How did you do it?]
-˪[Do what?](Author)
-˪[How did you tame the mobile fortress Tyranno?]
-˪[Oh, I didn’t tame it. It’s already dead and connected with wires so “Medea” can control it]
-[LOLOLOLOL I was impressed thinking you tamed it, but it’s just a Superhuman controlling it LOL]
-[Can Medea really control something like that?]
-˪[Nothing is impossible in this world](Author)

There were users playing with the Ancient Empire’s biological weapons (dead ones) like dolls.

Title: Deep sea exploration is fun
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Image of an unmanned large submarine trying to fire torpedoes at around 30km deep in the sea, only to be crushed by a battleship.jpg]
It’s also fun to crush submarines with a battleship’s ram when they think they’re hidden by lurking at a mere 30km depth
Comments:
-[???]
-[Oh right, our battleships are hundreds of kilometers long, aren’t they?]
-˪[How could you forget that, you idiot?]
-[So you’re saying you just plunged a battleship that was floating in orbit into the ocean?]
-˪[And vertically at that, making it difficult to escape using reverse propulsion?]
-˪[Oh, that’s right, wait a minute](Author)
-[LOLOLOL you idiot LOLOLOL]
-[What are you doing? LOL]
-[Shouldn’t you at least think about how to get out before ramming it in? LOL]
—————————————–
Someone tried to ram a submarine lurking in the deep sea to ambush them.
Only to end up saying goodbye to their perfectly good battleship, unable to retrieve it after the event ended.

Title: Why bother with searching?
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Image of an “SS-class aircraft carrier Ark Royal-class” brought in under the name of battleship, bombing the entire planet with massive carrier-based aircraft.jpg]
[Image showing a table with coffee and some snacks while watching the above scene.jpg]
Just burn everything down
There’s nothing alive anyway since it’s all extinct
Whether it’s monsters or robots or whatever, just destroy everything and pick up what’s still intact
Comments:
-[Don’t you have any sense of romance, damn it?]
-[Have you seen what the event title is?]
-[It said explore the planet, not purge it]
-[The “burn first, ask questions later” mentality]
-[“The planet is for incineration—ah!”]
-[What’s with that second image? Some kind of Outstar verification shot?]

As if they couldn’t care less about the fun of exploration, some chose to just leisurely destroy everything from orbit while enjoying snacks, rather than doing a speed run.
There were also those who ignored the desert planet exploration and instead went “sand surfing” in the desert.
Others filmed “apocalypse movies” on ruined city planets.
Seeing how everyone was enjoying this event in their own way, I felt that while the event might be small in scale, it was certainly packed with content!
