Ch.55. Holy War (2)

The Black Sun Cult needed a powerful weapon to fulfill their ambitions.

A weapon that was organic, obedient, and utterly ferocious.

Knowing their deeds were shameful, they concealed everything thoroughly.

They created their own hell in that place.

A dark basement, victims who continued to breathe despite being broken, and the stench of blood.

After conducting horrific experiments that should never be revealed to the world, they covered their depravity with a veneer of piety.

The woman’s unending hatred originated from that place.

“Vile beast, today you shall be reborn under the name of the Black Sun.”

    How laughable, truly.

Despite it being their atrocities that reduced her from human to beast, they did not hesitate to condemn her so.

The woman lost all her memories and identity, and was reborn as a vampire of the Black Sun.

After that, her memories were of rotting flesh, blood, and the ecstasy that stained her mind clear.

Frenzy, pain, and again blood, blood, more blood.

I’m thirsty. Please, someone quench this thirst. It hurts, ah.

There was a woman who had become a monster.

She had reached the immortality everyone desired, and possessed tremendous power—

    Endless frenzy.

Without someone’s intervention, the woman’s life would have been as tragic as a toy in a child’s hands.

    “…What? That monster…? B-but, my Lord.”

On the day Belladis found salvation, there was a red-haired woman and her god.

Across the vast plains, knights in holy armor advanced.

Their eyes reflected their determination to sweep away their enemies.

They would show true justice to the ignorant ones who dared harm their god.

Their reason already numbed by anger, they hesitated no longer.

Even if they had to turn against the world, they would bring back their Lord.

Even if they had to venture beyond hell, they would not stop.

-Our Lord and His prophet are with us.

The faithful servants of the Father God continued to advance.

Their destination: the Black Sun Cult’s headquarters.

The decision had already been made.

    Nothing could stop them now.

And at their center was one who loved the Lord more than anyone and hated the Black Sun Cult with equal passion.

    “Are you there?”

    Belladis Rocheria.

A monster created by the Black Sun Cult, a vampire.

And now, the protagonist of this holy war and the most faithful servant of the Father God.

“My love, my life, my everything.”

Since Belladis’s life began with his salvation, it was only right that it should be spent for him until the end.

    “We’ll be together again soon.”

She would sweep away everything that stood between her love and him.

Her revenge was merely secondary to her affection for him.

Her pale skin, bathed in moonlight, was clearly visible even under the bright sunlight.

It was thanks to the Father God’s blessing that she had overcome her race’s weakness.

Her black hair was an uncommon color, her own uniqueness. And those blood-red eyes.

This beautiful woman, with the perfect appearance of a vampire, smiled softly as she anticipated the coming massacre.

They had done something they should never have done.

She had tried to live forgetting personal revenge.

Proving her love for him had been her priority.

But if they took his existence away from her, everything would change completely.

    “Lady Belladis.”

One of the priests approached her as she waited with her massive weapon.

    “Yes?”

    “They’ve begun to appear.”

Beyond the endless horizon, remnants of the Black Sun emerged.

Symbols so terrible and obscene that they provoked impulses upon sight.

Belladis stepped down from the magically engineered carriage and shielded her eyes from the bright sunlight, trying to memorize their appearances.

Behind her stood hundreds, thousands of soldiers.

All of them were Belladis’s army, holy warriors gathered to deliver the Lord’s will.

    “Everyone.”

Belladis continued speaking without waiting for a response.

“What do ‘those things’ look like to you?”

“Evil incarnate that shouldn’t exist in this world!”

“Demons! We must cast them into hell!”

    Angry voices erupted from everywhere.

Belladis smiled softly again at their responses.

“Yes, that’s right. They are villains who hid the Father God from us, worse than trash, filth.”

    -Woong….

Magical power responding to Belladis’s will surged from beneath her feet.

A bizarrely shaped power, like a snake, climbed up her body and began to spread its presence around.

It was a cursed power formed through Belladis’s blood.

“Today, they will pay the price.”

She hoped they would regret and despair.

An attack without declaration of war.

Strike directly at the Black Sun’s headquarters, causing greater damage by exploiting their confusion.

This was Belladis’s merciless plan, the content of today’s massacre.

The overwhelming difference in military power supported this.

The Father God’s forces had already gained enough power to erase a religion from the world.

They hadn’t shown it until now because of His will not to cause unnecessary bloodshed.

But from today, the world would face their wrath.

‘Please wait just a little longer, my love.’

Belladis took a step forward, imagining the ecstatic moment in her mind.

    “….!”

An enemy believer with a shocked expression caught her eye.

They tried to respond in panic, but from the moment they entered her domain, it was already too late.

    “Look at me.”

Belladis, willingly offering that life to her god, prepared her massive weapon along with magical power.

    “Crimson Reaper”

    The form of death appeared.

Blood-colored magical power pulsated as if alive, creating the imposing and massive figure of a grim reaper.

The green grass-covered earth instantly turned dark red.

It was one of Belladis’s signature attacks, striking a wide area in an instant.

Now she just needed to swing the massive weapon in her hand, and her magic would do the rest.

    “….?”

Until she witnessed the darkened area brightening again with an unidentified light.

    “…What is that?”

    “Is it the enemy’s trick!”

    “Everyone! Deploy the defensive formation!”

    -Saaaa….

A display of light as comforting as a mother’s embrace poured down on them.

It felt like a kind of magic cast to suppress their anger.

Belladis, not being deluded by such tricks, decided to continue her attack.

    -Crack!

The ground beneath her broke, creating a volatile situation.

    However.

    “Dispel”

The reaper Belladis had summoned to strike the area lost its form and disappeared in an instant.

    “….”

Belladis looked at the phenomenon with considerable shock.

    “My skill.”

To interfere with another’s magic, one needed to have equal or superior ability.

To nullify her skill with such an overwhelming difference.

This was the moment when the Black Sun’s prepared measures defied Belladis’s expectations.

But if one approach didn’t work, she could prepare another.

As the hate-filled vampire was about to cast another skill.

    “Belladis.”

    A man appeared before her.

    “No, Vera.”

From his lips came her nickname, which he had called countless times.

    “…..?”

As if time had stopped for Belladis, all her actions ceased.

    Divine Manifestation.

A function that consumes some faith points to interact with believers.

It’s a legitimate intimate interaction feature prepared for game players.

Of course, that doesn’t mean it opened up a full-fledged adult route.

We only anticipated meeting them within gentlemanly boundaries.

    ‘I’m actually doing this.’

Since it’s a provided system, I could use it, but when applied to reality, the story changes.

How many times does the story need to change before I can become a person optimized for this world?

Pushing away the sudden existential crisis.

When I first stepped into this unfamiliar world, what I felt was a cool breeze and air pressure pushing against my entire body.

    “…Air pressure?”

    -Swoosh!!

    “Oh shit.”

When I came to my senses, my entire body was plummeting toward the ground.

This was the first time I truly felt how terrifying gravity could be.

The Divine Manifestation I knew was a peaceful method of having fan meetings with believers.

Why was I becoming a human meteor anticipating my date with the ground?

    “Have mercy…!”

The wind rushing into my mouth made it impossible to pronounce properly.

    Arms and legs flailing.

The white rags I was wearing, which I didn’t remember putting on, fluttered in the wind.

I could see what looked like black dots far below on the ground.

It must be the situation I saw on the map.

I couldn’t experience the embarrassment of falling to death in front of my believers.

So I tried hard to find a method by manipulating the system.

    And then.

    -Whoosh!!

After quickly activating a skill, I entrusted my body to the massive presence growing on my back.

    “Whoa…!”

They were wings that seemed like they would belong to an angel.

Sacred wings with softly glowing feathers sprouted on both sides of me, controlling my falling body.

With a significantly slower and more stable view than before, I finally began to properly assess the situation.

    “Oh my.”

On the ground, numerous people, presumably my paladins, had gathered.

They continued their march as if they were about to erase the Black Sun from this world, making my heart swell.

If not stopped, they might be completely wiped out.

After all, this was my church’s holy war.

The battle could only be one-sided.

Based on the historical evidence in the game, my church’s combat power was currently at its peak.

“The ‘Incarnation of the Black Sun’ is sobbing…”

    “I know. I get it.”

Leaving aside the message window that was anxious about its cult being helplessly destroyed.

I finally found the person I was looking for.

    “…Wow.”

    There she was.

A woman with long black hair and doll-like features.

    Beautiful. Extremely so.

    ‘It’s me, the Father God.’

The one she had been searching for had arrived.

She caused all this commotion trying to find me.

    Love was truly heavy.

I made the first move toward Belladis, who was staring at me with a blank expression.

    “Belladis.”

    No, that’s too formal.

    “Vera.”

When I spoke gently like that, a spark began to appear in Belladis’s eyes.

“Who do you think you are?”

    “Pardon?”

Something seems to have gone wrong.
