The morning after twenty newly appointed moderators, including myself, enjoyed an exciting and fun time massacring trolls.

    “Commander, did you sleep well?”

    “Mm, good morning to you too.”

    Perhaps it was because of the thorough massacre we carried out.

    After enjoying a deep, refreshing sleep, I felt completely rejuvenated.

    <<<‘Grand Cross’ Event Reward Notice>>>

    <Content>

    <This is a reward for the Commander who worked hard during the event!>

    <‘Icarus’ Commander has been confirmed as ‘3rd place’ in the ‘Individual Ranking’, so you will receive the corresponding reward!>

    <Result>

    <Dimensional Causality Fixation Voucher x50>

    <Superhuman Rapid Enhancement Voucher x1>

    —————————————–

    “Hmm.”

    “Oh my, they’re giving out rewards faster than usual this time?”

    “Yeah, that’s true.”

    Usually, events would say something like “rewards will be given in a week,” but for some reason, this one came quickly.

    Because of this, both Jessica and I found ourselves tilting our heads in confusion from the morning, but…

    ‘Well, I don’t mind getting it early.’

    To be honest, since it wasn’t really a big problem, I decided to just accept the rewards with a light heart.

    And our Jessica, seeing me receive such rewards, twitched her rabbit ears and showed a puzzled reaction.

    “By the way, Commander, what exactly is this ‘Rapid Enhancement Voucher’?”

    “Ah, you don’t know about it?”

    As always, Jessica’s reaction allowed me to satisfy my intellectual vanity(?), and I nodded and explained clearly.

    “It’s nothing special, just an item that instantly raises a newly acquired superhuman to level 30 when used.”

    “Ohhh… such an amazing item is just given as a reward?!”

    But in the midst of this, Jessica seemed to have misunderstood something.

    ‘Am I really that bad at explaining things?’

    Feeling that such a trivial concern had arisen, I decided to give Jessica a proper answer again.

    “Of course, it only raises them ‘up to’ level 30, so it becomes completely useless once they exceed level 30.”

    “Ah… so that’s why you’re reacting much more smoothly and leisurely than I expected.”

    “Well, yes, that’s right.”

    Jessica was correct.

    In fact, if it were another user who received such a reward, they would have immediately thought:

    ‘Ah! The administrators want me to get a superhuman and skip the tedious leveling process quickly! Why bother with leveling!’

    And they would have been more than happy to accept it, but…

    “Honestly, it’s better for our mental health not to expect anything from gacha, right?”

    “That’s true. Everyone knows that your luck is terrible, Commander.”

    It was truly a painful topic.

    As Jessica said while folding one of her ears, honestly, what meaning did this have for me?

    Although it’s true that my luck has improved recently, like getting Dornia or creating Craberos from the 4th anniversary random box…

    Paradoxically speaking, it was obvious that my luck would be completely depleted by now because of that.

    “Still, why don’t you give it a try?”

    “…You think so?”

    “Yes, fixing the dimensional causality doesn’t take that long anyway.”

    “That’s true. Then let’s do it right away.”

    Despite Jessica and I approaching the gacha with extremely light hearts and without any sense of material desire…

    After using all the accumulated gacha vouchers and rolling about 100 times, the result was:

    —————————————–

    <Result of using x100 Dimensional Causality Fixation Vouchers!>

    <Brilliant Resource Box x20>

    <Rare Resource Box x11>

    <Common Resource Box x30>

    <Brilliant Equipment Box x6>

    <Rare Equipment Box x11>

    <Common Equipment Box x22>

    —————————————–

    “Well, that’s to be expected.”

    “Quite the predictable result, Commander.”

    The results were truly “as expected” in that manner.

    “Jessica, are there any superhumans under my command who are below level 30?”

    “None at all. Even Dornia, who joined most recently, has already surpassed level 30 during this event.”

    “…Ah, that happened already?”

    Moreover, the fact that there were no superhumans under my command who were below “level 30” anymore…

    The realization that the reward I had received was completely useless was starting to irritate me.

    ==========

    Anyway, after spending the morning like that…

    Whether it was eating eel jelly thinking it was blood sausage and experiencing a whole new world…

    Or doing various leveling as usual…

    Or having Craberos… no, Kraken Unit 3 and Dornia hunt pirates appearing near the newly acquired Daedalus for simultaneous leveling…

    While spending what could only be described as an extremely peaceful time, I suddenly had a new question.

    And what was that question? It was, ‘I barely did anything during the 3rd phase of the battle, so how did I manage to rank 3rd?’

    “You’re curious about that?”

    “Yes, I mean, I might understand the 1st and 2nd phases, but for the 3rd phase, I was practically neglecting my duties.”

    So to solve this question, I decided to look through the results of the ‘Grand Cross’ event to find out why I ranked 3rd…

    A moment later.

    <‘Icarus’ Commander’s Ranking Score Calculation Table>

    <*Rankings are calculated by summing the scores from each phase!*>

    <Phase 1>

    ˪<Number of advance guards eliminated: 1st place among all users>

    <Phase 2>

    ˪<Main force battle score: K/D/A score in top 0.5% of all users>

    <Phase 3>

    ˪<Assist score: Mobility support for allied fleets through stronghold gates>

    <Based on the sum of scores from the above results.>

    <‘Icarus’ Commander’s final event score ranks ‘3rd place’.>

    —————————————–

    ‘Hoeeee.’

    In other words, I learned that my absolute destruction of the advance guards in ‘Phase 1’ played a huge role.

    Of course, I did my fair share of fighting hard in Phase 2 as well.

    But while Phase 2 only allowed me to contribute about 1 to 1.5 times a normal person’s worth, in Phase 1, I literally blasted thousands of advance guard ships using the “fortress cannon”…

    It seemed that even if I only provided support(?) in Phase 3, I could still receive an appropriate event score.

    Additionally, when I looked into the cases of the two people who ranked higher than me, they were the opposite of my case.

    -[I see]

    That’s right.

    The two people who ranked higher than me had greatly benefited from what’s called the ‘phase score proportion’.

    ‘I see, I completely understand now.’

    And so I came to understand why I ranked 3rd, nodding my head lightly with satisfaction.
