Ch.5454. Dragon King Squadron, Disbanded.
by fnovelpia
“Oh, I can’t believe it. This is sadistic.”
Exile was getting beaten badly by Shin Yukyong as she continued her martial arts while flying between mirrors.
Though he tried to act cool like he was from New York, even that seemed to hit the limits of his stamina.
“Move aside, idiot. Tag out.”
“Red Dragon! Did you already take down Blue? Impressive.”
Exile backstepped and I stepped forward in his place. Exile retreated. I faced off against Shin Yukyong.
“How dare you interfere. You’ve come to die, Jung Ui-seok.”
“Bring it on.”
Shin Yukyong came at me first. Shadow clone technique. A low tackle and high flying kick came simultaneously. I deflected the lower attack while avoiding the upper one. I countered with my elbow, striking a pressure point to paralyze her muscles.
Bang! Shin Yukyong left a decoy behind and landed at a distance.
Thanks to Dillitter, her reaction speed seems to have increased. She’s somewhat ninja-like now.
“Don’t act so smug!”
She threw shuriken and throwing stars simultaneously. She planned the trajectory to make them unavoidable while preparing to surprise me with the dagger in her sleeve.
Sure enough, she created a mirror to use as a foothold and lunged to stab me.
How annoying.
“What…?!”
I couldn’t be bothered to dodge, so I just took all the hits.
They barely did any damage anyway.
Thanks to that, Shin Yukyong was right in front of me.
“Got you?”
WHAM!!
I immediately grabbed her shoulder and slammed her to the ground. Mount position. I pinned her shoulders with both knees and climbed on top.
To prevent her lower body from moving, which would be annoying, I drilled white holes through both her legs and abdomen to fix her in place.
“ARGHHHH!”
“Bite down or you’ll lose your teeth and mess up your pronunciation.”
Next, I happily pummeled her head, which was between my thighs, with my fists. After about twenty punches, her helmet was completely gone, and I could see her skull slightly caved in at the forehead.
She might die if I hit her more.
“Hey.”
“C-coward… if you only use that…”
“What exactly is your problem?”
“The problem lies with you. To think you’d sell your soul to Vengeance.”
“This isn’t some steroid addiction. You seem to have great pride as a hero, but you’re not one to talk.”
“Ha, I don’t need to hear that from you.”
“Whatever, let’s get to the point. What did you do to Somi?”
“What did I do?”
“Oh, playing dumb now? Let’s see how long you can keep that up.”
I started pressing firmly into Shin Yukyong’s eyeball.
“Ugh! Wait, wait a moment! Urgh—!!”
With a squelching sound, blood began to overflow.
“I’ll testify about the day Han Somi died! So stop!”
I removed my hand. The whites of Shin Yukyong’s eyes were completely red. Blood and tears mixed, staining her cheeks messily.
Shin Yukyong glared at me with an enraged face.
“Go ahead. Know that if you lie, you’ll become blind immediately.”
“In the lab, Se-hwa, Minseo, and I were fighting combatants as a team. There was a Dark Kingdom enhancement device there, and I wanted to use it.”
“Why?”
“Because I wanted to become stronger. Power is my reason for existence.”
“What did you want to do after becoming stronger?”
Shin Yukyong didn’t answer. I wasn’t particularly curious either.
“And then?”
“Se-hwa tried to stop me, saying it was dangerous. Minseo said it looked fine and suggested we test it. There happened to be many civilian corpses that seemed to have been used as test subjects. She put them in the device and said we should wait for Han Somi. Se-hwa and I scolded Minseo.”
“Why did Choi Minseo do that?”
“Because she disliked Han Somi. She probably intended to play a prank.”
“And then?”
“Right after, Han Somi arrived. She thought there was a survivor, not a corpse, inside the device and entered it. At that moment, the device activated automatically, and we tried to rescue her. Then you arrived, Jung Ui-seok. You know the rest.”
“Why did you hide it?”
“Minseo asked me to. You didn’t seem to be in your right mind either.”
“Does Kang Yerin know?”
“I’ve never told her, but I don’t know if she knows.”
“Hmm.”
Shin Yukyong and Ji Se-hwa’s testimonies are almost identical. They couldn’t have coordinated their stories since they didn’t know I would ask these questions.
Moreover, it’s an incident from almost 7 months ago. Yet if only one out of three has a different testimony, it’s obvious who’s lying.
Choi Minseo.
I need to kill her now.
“I don’t know how you found out about this, but Se-hwa and I aren’t responsible. If you’re trying to blame us, you’re mistaken…”
“What?”
Hearing those words, I immediately stabbed through her right eye.
“AAAAARGH!!”
“Not responsible? Hey, you’re crossing the line.”
“Damn, damn you!”
Shin Yukyong desperately clawed at my knees that were restraining her.
“Of course you should have destroyed that thing right away. What’s all this about enhancing power and whatnot? Hey, you betrayed me because you wanted the Switch, right? Why keep making excuses? From the beginning, it was all because of your greed.”
“Why blame only me…!”
“Who said I’m only blaming you? Keep your inferiority complex to yourself, loser. With all that trouble, are you stronger than me now? You’re T1 rank, right? Did you even scratch me? Did you win the S-Sentai Tournament? I handed it to you.”
Shin Yukyong couldn’t refute and just trembled with frustration, gritting her teeth.
“You all really piss me off. The heroes will be destroyed in the S-Sentai Tournament anyway, so should I just end the Korean heroes here? Forget plans and everything else. You’re completely useless in the fight against the Galaxy Empire anyway.”
“Wait… just wait…”
“I don’t care. I’ll kill you all first, then think about it. Where is Choi Minseo?”
I was about to bring out the white of plague when—
BOOM!
The wall was destroyed as several people tumbled in. It was Kang Yerin and three heroes.
“Shit. Definitely T2 rank. Not easy.”
Kang Yerin was overwhelming the other three. Can’t those losers win even when ganging up three against one? What trash.
Kang Yerin spotted me and Shin Yukyong, jumped in surprise, and ran over.
“Ugh, Ui-seok! You’ll really kill her like that!”
“So what? I’m going to kill her.”
“You can’t! No matter what, not a life.”
“Where is Choi Minseo?”
“Minseo? Why suddenly…?”
“Is she here? Or in the infirmary?”
“Wait a moment. Let’s calm down and talk…”
“Ui-seok oppa!!”
I heard Ji Se-hwa shouting. She must have dragged her battered body up here. She rushed toward me.
“I, I was wrong. I must have been wrong from the start. I, I understand now. Let’s talk, okay?”
Ji Se-hwa was clinging to my arm, annoying me. My body shifted slightly due to her momentum. Taking advantage of that gap, Shin Yukyong, who had been pinned beneath me, slipped away.
“Jung Ui-seok, I’ll repay this debt next time. You and Vengeance together!”
I wasn’t planning on giving her another chance. I tried to activate the blue of death. But Shin Yukyong had also equipped something to her transformation device.
[Shape Managed! GRAVITY!]
[Include! AO’GUANG!]
Instantly, a huge mirror appeared, tearing through space. At the same time, a massive gravitational field began to engulf the entire area.
Must be about 15G.
Considerable power. Where did she get a Switch with such ability?
No, is it not a Switch?
“Haah!”
I activated the blue to chase after Shin Yukyong. But she was fast too. She manipulated the gravitational field to launch herself like a missile. Shin Yukyong broke through the building and flew into the sky, disappearing instantly to somewhere out of sight.
“Tsk.”
RUMBLE!
The association building couldn’t withstand the continuing gravitational field and began to collapse.
“What the…! Clock Out!”
Kang Yerin tried to stop time to counteract the gravitational field. But gravity is a physical force that transcends time. Superior in compatibility. The collapse didn’t stop, and eventually several floors came crashing down.
I moved away from the area appropriately. The gravitational field’s effect ended. What remained was the devastated upper part of the association building.
“This can’t be…”
Kang Yerin sat down in despair. I stood in front of her. The three American heroes also landed beside me.
“Yerin, do you want to continue?”
Kang Yerin slowly shook her head. It was a sign of surrender. A message appeared on my system window and the heroes’ transformation device hologram guides.
[S-Sentai Tournament Title Match Ended]
[Winner: Absolute League]
[Loser: Dragon King Sentai Draodger]
I congratulated the Absolute Seven.
“Now you are the S-Sentai. Welcome to your debut, Red Absolute.”
“Thank you for your cooperation, Red Dragon. You’re officially still listed as deceased. We won’t take away your honor as Red. Though not of the Dragon King Sentai.”
“I’d prefer blue. Blue Exile! I like it. Let’s return now, friends.”
The American heroes smiled broadly and activated their jetpacks to leave the scene. I crossed my arms and looked down at Kang Yerin.
“Now you’re just Cloaker, Yerin.”
“…I guess so.”
“Dragon King Sentai is disbanded.”
“…Yes.”
She accepted my words calmly. But there was someone who didn’t.
“Disbanded…? No. I don’t want that! It’s our Dragon King Sentai! Our name! Our…”
I turned to look at the sobbing Ji Se-hwa.
“We ended a long time ago.”
At my declaration, Ji Se-hwa seemed to lose something vital and froze in place.
“Where is Choi Minseo?”
“…Medical wing, annex building, 6th floor.”
I jumped across the damaged building toward my target. I headed straight for the room with Green Nature’s name on it and opened the door.
The room was private. Despite the recent battle, bright sunlight and fresh breeze poured in through the window.
I drew out the white of plague in one hand. Ready to pierce through Choi Minseo’s brainstem and scatter it.
I approached the bed and pulled open the fluttering curtain.
