<General Announcement>
<<<‘Grand Cross’ Event Launch!>>>
<Notice to all Commanders!>
<From the distant ancient times, Titan-class mobile fortresses known as ‘Grand Cross’ have simultaneously awakened from dormancy and begun operations for unknown reasons!>
<As these massive mobile fortresses, created in the ancient empire for the inexplicable reason of “romance of big ships and big guns,” have started moving, forces in each sector have begun to tighten their vigilance.>
<The problem is, while we don’t know why their dormancy ended, could it be due to the lack of maintenance over such a long period?>
<Upon awakening, the Grand Cross fortresses have begun indiscriminate attacks on not only nearby planetary systems…>
<But also on all ships and life forms they encounter along their path!>
<As if the mobile fortresses alone weren’t enough, they’ve launched massive vanguard forces and escort fleets from within!>
<Of course, given the scale of the universe, leaving them alone wouldn’t necessarily put the universe in danger.>
<However, the consensus among forces and the staff at Commanders’ bases is that the situation could worsen if planet-sized mobile space fortresses with self-warping capabilities are allowed to rampage freely!>
<Event Phase Progression>
<Phase 1 – Encounter with the Vanguard>
<Large-scale unmanned fleets of small and medium ships are attacking your base!>
<These fleets will scale according to the Commander’s current forces.>
<If docked at your stronghold, additional fleets including capital ships will reinforce the attack on your stronghold!>
<Phase 2 – Battle with the Main Force>
<After the vanguard is defeated by Commanders, the ‘Grand Cross’ command AI immediately dispatches a large escort fleet to your base!>
<This battle takes place on a separate event map and begins when 1,000 Commanders gather.>
<Various capital ships including dreadnoughts and large carriers will engage in battle with Commanders’ fleets.>
<The ‘Main Force’ advances under the control of a command ship receiving direct orders from the Grand Cross. If the command ship is destroyed, the ‘Main Force’ will receive massive debuffs.>
<Phase 3 – Fortress Final Battle>
<After confirming that not only the vanguard but also the main force has been suppressed by Commanders…>
<The Grand Cross command AI immediately activates all internal shipyards to restore fleet strength, while simultaneously launching a direct offensive by firing its main cannons at Commanders!>
<When a sufficient number of Commander fleets gather, the main cannon ‘Grand Cross Cannon’ will fire!>
<The Grand Cross Cannon cannot be fired near the fortress.>
<Find and destroy the command center, the heart of the fortress!>
<Event Precautions!>
<The fortress’s main cannon, ‘Grand Cross Cannon,’ may occasionally fire during battle to support its drone fleet.>
˪<The impact area of the Grand Cross Cannon will be marked days before firing, so please take note.>
˪<*Warning!* The Grand Cross Cannon is one of the most powerful weapons, and even high-level stronghold outer walls cannot guarantee complete protection.>
<Titan-class mobile fortresses cannot be captured by Commanders, please understand.>
<This event has no set time limit.>
<PVP is restricted until the event ends.>
<Time remaining until event start: 12 hours 1 minute 22 seconds>

‘That’s a lot.’
Seeing the announcement that made me want to say “Add a TL;DR warning!” was my first thought.
Of course, that thought only lasted for a moment…
After reading the announcement from beginning to end once more, I nodded and mentally processed the event progression details before saying:
“This is going to be tough.”
“I know, I didn’t expect they’d give unlimited time.”
As Jessica said, perhaps it was because this was literally a ‘siege battle.’
I got the strong impression that the operations team was saying through this announcement, “Hey, you’re going to spend a loooot of time on this event.”
Or maybe, “While you’re busy enjoying this event, we’ll enjoy some rest too.”
Of course, whatever the operations team was thinking wasn’t particularly important.
What mattered was that this event was a veeeery big event.
Setting aside idle chatter to a corner of my mind, since there was still time before the event started…
‘Open the gates of the community!’
I immediately opened the gallery and chat to check how other users were reacting.
And as always, without fail, our user friends were busily chatting among themselves as soon as they received the proper announcement…

They’ve lost it;;
Of course players should be able to capture and use them to bombard those bastards with the main cannons! Huh?
Shouldn’t we naturally get to keep these badass super-large ships after defeating them? LOLOLOLOL
Comments:
-[How would you handle the maintenance costs if you captured something like that?]
-[Wasn’t the daily maintenance cost for an ancient empire flagship tens of thousands?]
-[It looks cool, but once the event ends and all the strategies come out, it’ll just become beautiful garbage, so it’s meaningless anyway]
-˪[Tsk tsk, you don’t understand rooooomance]

Title: MUST READ) Important point about this event.txt

Look here, they specifically said only the mobile fortress can’t be captured
That means everything else can be captured, right?
LOLOL going straight for the plunder meta, bye
Comments:
-[Sometimes when I see guys like this, they seem more like pirates than the Pirate Alliance]
-˪[That’s troo;;;]
-˪[It’s not “troo,” it’s “true”]
-˪[I wrote it that way on purpose]
-[But if the small ships are worse than regular grade ships, are they even worth capturing?]
-˪[Could add one more ship through fleet point loopholes](Author)
-˪[No, I mean there’s no point in capturing ships that way]
-˪[Capture in the first battle, use it as bait to blow up in the second battle, then get a new one](Author)

<Announcement: Preparing for the Grand Cross Event!>
-[This is our golden opportunity to finally build a proper fleet!]
-[What happened to all the resources we’ve been mining until now?]
-[Obviously used them to upgrade the base~]
-[Ah]
-[We may not have superhumans, but we do have a fleet!]
-[What about people who have nothing?]
-[You can pick up leftovers from others]
-[Oh]
-[But how do the settlements within our president’s territory fight against the event fleets?]
-[Dunno]
-[Won’t they warp or whatever directly in front of our base?]
-[True, otherwise our president would take all the hits]

Perhaps because it was full of users who had been plundered so much.
They were naturally showing very promising attitudes as prospective plunderers, trying to increase their forces through looting.
