Ch.503Now My Base is Level 10!!! (2)

A little while later.
The high-level user named Mithril began posting information in separate chapters, claiming the content was too long to fit in a single post.

First off, I’m still far from reaching level 10 myself, so keep in mind this is all from memory.
The “Large-Scale Ship Modification Facility” is an incredibly tasty piece of equipment because unlike the “equipment” attachments we’ve been using, this lets you modify ships themselves to the extreme within limits.
To what extent? You can strip all weapons and plaster shield systems all over it.
Or conversely, remove all armor plating and focus solely on weapons. That kind of modification, yeah.
What makes it especially awesome is that unlike in the game, here users can modify however they want, just like during the Expo event.
Right now, support-type Superhumans can already do various modifications for users, but the larger the ship gets, the more time and effort it takes, so people often give up.
But with this facility, you can instantly modify even large ships according to the lore.
Comments:
-[Huh?]
-[I’ve actually been wanting to try making a pure tanking ship with all turrets removed]
-[Oh, so we can modify any ship, even gacha ships, to be super awesome?]
-[Hnnnng that’s so badass]

Next is information about facilities other than the ship modification facility.
These are buildings that utilize the technology of the four major factions.
I don’t remember everything in detail, so here’s a brief summary:
<Autonomous Evolutionary Biological Mutation Platform>
There are performance enhancements for monster ships and monster-type Superhumans, but that’s just for show.
In reality, it allows biological modifications for Superhumans and ships that were previously only available to those affiliated with the Monster faction.
<Multi-dimensional Phase Transformation Crystal Aggregate>
For enhancing Xenovia-type ships and Superhumans.
It also upgrades ships’ warp performance and speed.
Additionally, it allows the use of Xenovia’s unique shield systems.
Of course, they’re inferior to authentic Xenovia ships.
<Autonomous Tactical Drone Development and Control Matrix>
This is evidence of Earth Federation’s attempts to survive with more than just big ships with big guns and thick armor.
It allows the use of unmanned drone swarms to escort big ships with big guns, or alternatively, a nanomachine system that repairs ship armor plating.
It looks completely different from the Earth Federation style we’ve known so far.
But the late-game Earth Federation setting, represented by the Ouroboros-class, had already moved beyond simple big ships with big guns and was desperately trying something different.
<Outlaw Alliance Contact Office>
This is just the Pirate Alliance, and of course it strengthens Pirate Alliance ships and Superhumans.
It doesn’t provide additional equipment or research, but instead:
It gives discounts and enhancements for regular mercenary groups or base mercenary groups you’ve hired.
Plus, you can hire one more mercenary group here.
Oh, and when you build these four buildings, each one occasionally gives quests to Commanders.
The rewards for completing these quests are pretty juicy, so gobble them up.
And finally, here’s a tribute image for those who just skimmed through everything I wrote and scrolled straight down:

Thanks.

-[AAAAAAAARGH]
-[Damn, suddenly a terror image]
-[I read everything carefully but now I can’t remember anything because of that shocking thing at the end]
-˪[All according to plan](Author)
-˪[You jerk]
-[That’s kinda hot, how do I download it?]
-˪[Dude…]
-[Two dance]
-[What did people who were reading normally do to deserve this visual terrorism?]

-˪[Damn, this is why you’re not allowed to write wiki articles]

Although I suffered unexpected visual terrorism due to that high-level user’s antics, the important thing was that I could get quite useful information from those two posts.
I judged that even though it would consume a significant amount of resources, it would bring sufficient returns.
Or at least I was about to make that judgment.
But right after I came to that conclusion, another high-level user’s post appeared in the featured section, challenging the “information post.”
Fortunately, they weren’t disputing the content of the information itself.

Title: That information post missed a few things

Not many, just a few points.
First, since there was no mention about the ship modification facility, I’ll clarify to avoid confusion for other users.
You cannot modify gacha ships with it.
Only regular-grade ships can be modified.
Also, ship modifications are only possible within the ship’s “original maximum limits.”
Oh, and one more thing:
The mercenary group you can hire directly from the Outlaw Alliance can only be within the fleet points of the user base where the building is constructed.
This never changes, even if you get the Pirate Empress.
Comments:
-[What does “within maximum limits” mean?]
-˪[It means you can’t exceed the maximum weapons or armor capacity the ship can handle](Author)
-˪[???]
-˪[You can’t mount a dreadnought’s main turret or armor plating on a corvette, and you can’t put a corvette’s power source on a dreadnought](Author)
-˪[They’re too big for the hull to support](Author)
-˪[Ah, I see]
-[But can you still remove main turrets and replace them with secondary turrets or VLS launchers?]
-˪[Yeah, that’s possible. If needed, you can even cover it with barrier systems like during the Expo](Author)
-˪[Oh]
-[What about stuffing a battleship with aircraft hangars, like an armored carrier?]
-˪[You can do it, but I wonder if it’s worth it](Author)
-[That last point is interesting. It’s completely impossible?]
-˪[Yeah](Author)
-˪[I tried it after getting the Empress before I was incarnated here, and it seems to be systematically blocked](Author)
-˪[OK thanks]

“Very interesting information.”
With Mithril’s information post and Kaeus’s additional information, I felt there was sufficient cross-verification.
So I immediately reopened the base management window and decided to check the resource status with Jessica.
“Magical Jessica, Jessica, tell me our resource status.”
“…We have 14 million minerals and 6.5 million rare resources.”
“Excellent.”
Realizing that we had more than enough for the level 10 upgrade, which would consume over 10 million combined minerals and rare resources…
Shortly after:
—
<Base Level 10 Upgrade in Progress…>
<Time Remaining Until Completion: 45 days 22 hours 18 minutes 59 seconds>
—
As I pressed the upgrade button for level 10, anticipating the comprehensive large-scale performance enhancement system and the “ship extreme modifications” that Grigri and Neronero would love, I felt a different kind of interest rising.
‘With abundant resources and time, plus a facility that physically makes it possible… what kind of crazy creation will emerge?’
But after having such thoughts, I decided to casually ask Grigri and Neronero via communication, without revealing that level 10 would bring a ship modification facility…
-“If you could modify ships freely, what would you make?”
-“F-freely modify? Just regular grade ships?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
-“Then I’d just modify a suitable cargo ship to hold the Superhumans or troops that the Commander captures, and make something that can simultaneously perform brainwashing training and body modifications.”
“Uh… what?”
-“I-I’d use nanomachine in-infection… hehehe.”
-“Or maybe a prison battleship production plant that can only produce Superhumans!”
“…”
I realized that if I left it up to them, something indescribably strange might emerge.
