Ch.5005 – The Boy’s Abyss 5

    # 005 – The Boy’s Abyss # 5

    The Head Ghost spoke.

    “We’rerightherebutwe’rejuststandingstillbuthowshouldwedoitGeonhoIhaveagoodidea─.”

    “Is this the Head Ghost…!?”

It was a horrifically shaped head with wildly overgrown hair.

Looking closely, its forehead was torn by something sharp, dripping blood. It looked so fucking terrifying that I almost felt tears welling up.

“Wow, shit, the visual is seriously brutal. But how are you talking without vocal cords?”

“Aaah… No! Why are you here of all places! Why in front of the faculty office!”

Jeong Sojin covered her face with her hands, almost screaming.

True to what I’d heard about the Head Ghost not responding to sound or visual stimuli, it remained motionless despite Sojin’s screams.

I briefly considered how to get rid of this ghost.

Actually, since hearing about the Head Ghost’s characteristics from Sojin, I’d been thinking about ways to lure it elsewhere.

Maybe throw a stone as bait to move it?

I was about to put that into action when:

    “GrindingcrunchingSojinyoufuckingbitchhowcouldyoudothistomelet’sescapeGeonholet’sescapewhenshewenttothatYangJuhuilet’sgonowtimetoescapeGeonhoquicklythatslutfellleaveherbehindandlet’sgojustusnothekey’slockedweneedakey─”

    “……”

Perhaps due to the ghost’s unpleasant muttering, a scene flashed through my mind.

The class president Jeong Sojin pushing Yang Juhui down and using that opportunity to approach the multipurpose room door with Kim Geonho.

    “Sojin, you didn’t…”

Just as I looked at Jeong Sojin:

    “Yeongwon, I’m sorry!!!”

    Wham-!

Something forceful shoved my shoulder hard.

The two palms thrust forward carried not just the weight of one person but were filled with malice and selfishness.

    “Ugh!”

Though I might be weak at sports, I wasn’t weaker than the studious-looking Jeong Sojin. Thanks to that, I didn’t fall over but ended up in a position that looked like I was embracing her.

“Hey, Jeong Sojin!!! You fucking bitch!!! What the hell are you doing!!!”

“Don’t curse at me! It’s Yang Juhui’s fault! Does it make sense that I, who only studies all day, get lower grades than Yang Juhui who smokes and hangs out with boys? I didn’t do anything wrong! I didn’t do anything wrong!”

“What? So you pushed Yang Juhui toward the ghost? And now you’re trying to push me too because you got caught? You’re a complete psychopath! It’s chilling that someone like you was our class president, shit!”

“Shut up! You fucking loser! Let me go!”

Sojin, flustered at being called out, struggled to push me away.

“Let go, you bastard! Fuck, let me go! Where are you touching! It’s creepy! You loser!”

“What am I touching! I thought something was off when you said Yang Juhui gave you a lighter! Yang Juhui hates you!”

I had felt something was off about Sojin’s story about the lighter, so I was on high alert in case she tried something.

Thanks to that, I managed not to fall from her sudden attack.

“I already knew you were two-faced! You liar! Was it also a lie that Kim Geonho and the others went to the old school building to catch people smoking?”

    “What!?”

I used to go back and forth between the school store and the old school building on Kim Geonho’s errands.

And once, I saw Kim Geonho and Jeong Sojin together in a secluded spot near the old school building.

At first, I thought the class president was warning the troublemaker, but then they kissed.

Thinking I shouldn’t see what would follow, I quickly left.

A little later, when Sojin saw me wandering behind the old school building, she flinched and asked, “Yeongwon, why are you here? Did you see anything?”

    I said, “No. I didn’t see anything.”

But after that, Kim Geonho’s bullying got worse, and I learned from Yang Juhui that it was on Sojin’s orders.

Sojin never believed my story from the beginning.

That’s also why I made Sojin a player in the Nightmare Corridor.

“I was really trying to help you, but you betray me like this? You’re the one fooling around with boys!”

“Fuck! That’s disgusting! You pervert! You bastard! Why am I a slut! You asshole! Why am I a slut!”

Wait, I never called her a slut?

Sojin was acting like a completely deranged person, hitting and biting me.

She seemed almost insane, and this was quite an ordeal for someone with my weak physique.

The more she struggled, the tighter I held her.

“Stay still! Just stay still for a moment!”

“What are you trying to do to me, you pervert! Let go!”

A strong scent of cosmetics wafted from Sojin, and the soft sensation pressing against my body became more vivid.

So this is how small, delicate, and fragile a woman’s body is. Meanwhile, a man’s body is so sad that it reacts in various ways regardless of intention in situations like this.

“You pervert!!! You fucking loser!!!! You fatherless bastard!!!”

I wasn’t doing this because I was a pervert as Sojin claimed. I was protecting her for humanitarian reasons.

There was hair spread like a spider web all around, and one wrong step would be disastrous.

    “Let me go!”

But Sojin was almost insane and finally broke free from my hold-.

    “Ah-.”

    Thud.

    She fell.

Sojin sat on the floor like a flower blooming amidst the hair spread like a spider web.

    “LetgoyoubastardletgofuckwhereareyoutouchingwhatareyoutryingtodotomepervertletgoaaaaaaahwhyamIaslutaaaah.”

The Head Ghost lunged at Sojin, and she struggled like a butterfly caught in a spider web.

“Kyaaaaaaaaaah!!!! Help me! Yeongwon, help me! I was wrong! Save me! Ugh, uuugh, uwek─.”

It was truly horrifying to see Sojin gagging as hair seeped into her eyes, ears, and nose. She begged for help, but it was already too late for me to do anything.

“I’ll, I’ll date you! Yeongwon, you like me, don’t you! We made eye contact every break time! Save me! Save me! Sa─.”

Sojin’s body suddenly floated up, then moved like an awkward puppet show, with her joints cracking and bending unnaturally.

    “You…like…mom…I…don’t want…to study…don’t want to be…a doctor…Geonho…before anyone sees…quickly…ah…aah…aah……”

Were the hairs penetrating her brain touching a nerve? Sojin listed incomprehensible words before only being able to say “aah-.”

    Pssshhh-.

The smell of liquid flowing from Sojin’s school uniform skirt down her thighs snapped me back to reality.

    “The key.”

I need to find the key to the multipurpose room in the faculty office-.

With that thought, I moved my legs and entered the faculty office.

“Bitch. I actually had a crush on her at the beginning of the semester.”

    Jingle.

Despite my bitter and complicated feelings, I successfully retrieved the “Multipurpose Room Key” from the key box.

But the unfortunate thing was that I didn’t know where the multipurpose room was in this strange corridor.

Thinking about it now, Sojin never told me the location of the multipurpose room.

She just said she knew where it was.

Considering Sojin’s cunning nature, she might have planned to use her knowledge of the multipurpose room’s location to gain the upper hand in our relationship.

She might have been planning to use me as bait for the Head Ghost if necessary.

And she actually acted that way before dying.

    “Is this karma?”

Glancing outside, I saw that the Head Ghost and Sojin had disappeared somewhere.

Unlike spiders that build webs and stay fixed in one place, does the Head Ghost move after a successful hunt?

    It was a reasonable theory.

It seemed the Head Ghost was in front of the multipurpose room when Sojin pushed Yang Juhui.

Suddenly, I thought of Yang Juhui.

If she was caught by the Head Ghost, did she suffer the same fate as Sojin just now? Ending with wetting herself?

    “Hey…! You’re Ha Yeongwon, right?”

    “Holy shit!”

I was genuinely startled by a voice from an unexpected place. Even a cat seeing a cucumber while eating wouldn’t be as surprised as I was.

I was so shocked, my heart pounding, when something soft firmly covered my mouth.

    “Shh, be quiet…!”

    Whoosh-.

    The scent of cosmetics.

And a sweet and sour smell too.

    I knew this smell well.

    “Yang Juhui…!?”

Even with eyes adjusted to the darkness, Yang Juhui’s yellow hair was clearly visible.

    Yang Juhui is alive.

    How is this possible?

Wasn’t Yang Juhui killed by the Head Ghost?

“When that ghost lunged at me, I took out my cutter knife and stabbed it. Thanks to that, I managed to escape somehow. Then I hid in this faculty office. The Head Ghost probably followed me to the front of the office.”

The Head Ghost couldn’t enter the faculty office.

Looking closely, the faculty office was also covered with talismans like those in classroom “1-4.”

    “I see. Attacked with a cutter knife…”

The blood flowing from the Head Ghost’s forehead wasn’t decoration for horror but a trace of Yang Juhui’s violence.

The Head Ghost takes damage from physical attacks─that might be useful information.

She’s got guts to swing a knife at a ghost.

“The cutter knife? The one you took from my desk, right? Where is it?”

“Don’t know. I lost it after stabbing the Head Ghost. That’s why I was trapped in this faculty office. I found this flashlight while searching the office. I was looking for a useful weapon.”

    “Ah.”

“Anyway, that bitch Jeong Sojin is dead, right? That damn girl. I’ve hated her for a long time. Acting like a fox. Pretending to be innocent while being slutty! Flirting with all the boys!”

Yang Juhui spent almost a minute cursing Jeong Sojin.

To Yang Juhui, Sojin was someone who tried to use her as bait.

“Oh, right. Our Yeongwon liked Sojin, didn’t you? Hm? Did you know that the Sojin you liked was dating Kim Geonho?”

“What are you talking about? I never liked Sojin. I don’t like girls with glasses.”

“Really? Well… I’ll go with that. More importantly, what the hell is going on here…”

    Yang Juhui slumped down.

Though she didn’t show it, she must have been tense for a while and felt relieved to see me.

Maybe because she was so close, I could smell her sweet and sour scent.

When I unconsciously licked my lips, Yang Juhui asked:

“What’s that, Yeongwon? Are you eating something?”

    “What would I be eating?”

“Really? Suspicious. You really don’t have anything to eat?”

“No, really, I don’t. If I did, I would’ve eaten it already. I’d love to have a cold cola right now.”

“Ah shit, I’ve been trapped in this faculty office for two days already and I’m hungry. Now that you mentioned cola, I want some too. Take responsibility. Yeongwon, I’m thirsty. Go buy me a cola from the school store.”

Take responsibility… That phrase reminded me of a dream I had recently.

But there was a more important keyword in Yang Juhui’s statement just now.

“Two days? You’ve been trapped here for two days?”

    Isn’t something off?

By my calculation, it hasn’t been 24 hours since kids like Yang Juhui and Jeong Sojin started wandering this corridor.

There was something suspicious yet somewhat familiar about this.

    “Could this place be…”

    Jingle, jingle-.

At that moment, the sound of bells made both of us close our mouths.

    Jingle, jingle, jingle-.

The bell sound grew louder and finally passed by the faculty office.

    This place is safe-.

With that thought, my body relaxed.

And the drowsiness I had forgotten about came rushing back.

I know it’s funny even to myself, but I was really sleepy.

After all, I had woken up in the middle of the night to deal with all this crap!

“Juhui, do you know where the multipurpose room is?”

“Maybe? I’m not sure. I was running wildly to escape the Head Ghost.”

    Good.

Still, for someone like me who has no idea where the multipurpose room is, having Yang Juhui with me is better.

But I kept feeling like I was ‘missing something.’

It might be good to take precautions just in case.

    “Juhui.”

    “What?”

“I have a favor to ask.”
