    Anyway, while others were going crazy over “very low probability” Super Dreadnoughts or other ships popping out of random boxes, spending their gold like madmen…

    I couldn’t care less, having completely lost interest in random boxes.

    “There are quite a lot of good options now.”

    “Well, the supply of battleships and dreadnoughts has increased significantly.”

    <Transaction Complete!>

    <SS-rank Dreadnought ‘Bellerophon-class’ x1 Acquired>

    <SS-rank Dreadnought ‘Paladin-class’ x1 Acquired>

    <81,445 Gold spent>

    ˪<Remaining Gold: 20,045>

    —————————————–

    ‘Nice, got them cheap.’

    I was picking up dreadnoughts whose price bubbles had burst…

    …or rather, whose prices had dropped to clearance sale levels, purchasing tankers for my fleet as originally planned.

    Of course, Jessica reacted to my purchases with “Wouldn’t it be better to just buy one SSS-rank instead?”

    “Jessi-Jessi-Jessica, SSS-rank dreadnoughts are still active in service, so users aren’t selling them.”

    “Ah, I see.”

    Either there was no supply, or even if there was, it would be like pie in the sky since I couldn’t afford one even if I spent all my gold.

    Anyway, after brushing that conversation aside.

    Naturally, after purchasing ships, it was only human nature to check their status windows.

    <Bellerophon-class Dreadnought>

    <A Bellerophon-class dreadnought built at the Dunkirk Shipyard of the Pirate Alliance.>

    <It was a testbed for applying stolen “Shield” technology from the Xenovia Empire, but as a result, its mobility became significantly slower, making it a ship the Pirate Alliance internally planned to phase out.>

    <Moreover, the shield only manifested at a level clearly inferior to the originally planned output.>

    <For this reason, the Pirate Alliance was full of intentions to purge both the underperforming(?) Bellerophon-class and its designers…>

    <Surprisingly, not long after, it was discovered that while the Bellerophon’s shield had low output, it utilized the dreadnought’s abundant power.>

    <Even if hundreds of destroyer-class ships attacked, they absolutely could not break through the shield with bombardment…>

    <Before long, it became a widely spread bestseller within the Pirate Alliance.>

    —————————————–

    —————————————–

    <Paladin-class Dreadnought>

    <A Paladin-class dreadnought reportedly first built at the Alpha Centauri Shipyard of the Earth Federation.>

    <Uniquely equipped with an automatic armor repair system using “nanomachines,” it can slowly repair not only its own hull.>

    <But also the armor plating of nearby ships.>

    <However, to utilize these armor-repairing nanomachines, it required not only a massive nanomachine hangar.>

    <But also a separate power source exclusively for the nanomachines and a control center with powerful capabilities…>

    <Compared to other dreadnoughts of the same class, it ended up with significantly inferior firepower and mobility.>

    —————————————–

    “You’ve chosen ships that are thoroughly defensive.”

    “That’s so they can function as ‘tankers’ for our fleet.”

    Fortunately, unlike the previous Bayern-class, these two dreadnoughts had unique abilities that clearly showed they would be very helpful to the fleet, proving their SS-rank status.

    After seeing all that, I decided to check the gallery wiki tab for these two ships, wondering “Are they just impressive on paper but actually terrible in practice?”

    Title: SS-rank Bellerophon-class Dreadnought Review

    Oh, this is our awesome strong-weak-weak-strong ship Bellerophon

    Compared to regular dreadnoughts, it’s slower, has the same firepower, and similar “hull armor”

    And the shield is weak enough to be penetrated by several consecutive hits from cruiser main guns

    But that shield is Bellerophon’s identity

    Anything weaker than cruiser main guns can’t penetrate it no matter how hard they try

    Technically, about 30-40 destroyers firing non-stop for 24 hours might break through the shield

    But realistically, Bellerophon wouldn’t just sit there taking hits from destroyers without doing anything, so it’s meaningless

    Anyway, as mentioned above, it’s strictly a strong-weak-weak-strong ship, so it’s a monster against small ships

    But pretty useless against large ships

    Oh, but if you enhance the shield equipment and level up hard enough, the shield can be upgraded to block battleship-class fire, so I recommend it if you’re aiming for the endgame

    Comments:

    -[But shields aren’t originally meant to block battleship-class fire, right?]

    -˪[Shh, quiet]

    -[So it’s just a one-trick pony with the shield, got it]

    -[How about other aspects? Like anti-air or detection?]

    -˪[This thing is completely average in everything except the shield and mobility](Author)

    Title: SS-rank Paladin-class Dreadnought Revieeew.txt

    It’s a healing tank

    For real

    As described in the ship info, it has the ability to slowly heal itself and nearby ships

    But in exchange, as you can see from the reference image, its firepower is absolute garbage

    It has 4 fewer main turrets than a regular dreadnought

    And half the secondary turrets

    They did increase the anti-air systems, but that’s only meaningful against carrier aircraft and small ships

    Just think of it as a pure tanking ship that applies area-of-effect healing over time

    Comments:

    -[It really is just a tank]

    -[How dare you disrespect Sir Paladin]

    -[Since ships that provide healing over time are rare, if you add a support ship to this, you could increase the healing performance and make a real zombie fleet]

    -˪[I heard that’s capped and can’t go above a certain value]

    -˪[Damn]

    —————————————–

    Whether Bellerophon or Paladin, they were ships optimized for “tanking” as I wanted.

    And since there wasn’t much difference from the performance I remembered from before…

    “I’m glad they’re not much different from what I remembered.”

    “Indeed.”

    Now these two SS-ranks would handle the tanking, preventing ships from exploding left and right…

    Thinking that was sufficient, I nodded with deep satisfaction.

    I then decided to hand over the two dreadnoughts I had purchased to Berial, who had just returned from exploring the event map, to begin the leveling process.

    “Dreadnoughts… SS-rank at that?”

    “Train both of them until they become useful.”

    “Understood, Commander.”

    ==========

    Anyway, with the market exploration finished like that.

    I browsed through a few more pages for window shopping…

    ‘Hmm, nothing particularly interesting.’

    Since there wasn’t much I could buy with the remaining 10,000 gold.

    After flipping through about two more pages, I decided to close the market window, thinking there was nothing more to see.

    And after that, there wasn’t much else to do.

    Just as another user showed off their random box disaster.

    Since I had just over 10,000 gold left after setting aside essential seed money…

    ‘Well, the event’s ending soon and I won’t be able to buy these anymore, so might as well go all out with a 10-pull and be done with it.’

    I decided to buy exactly 10 random boxes, fail miserably.

    And then post it on the gallery, enjoying a leisurely and peaceful time.
