    Ch.4949. Self-Confirmation

After using the Emperor’s power to ‘reconstruct’ almost all Dolphinmen and absorb them into the Hive Mind, I quickly stabilized the Dolphinmen’s territory.

I placed massive production facilities disguised as ordinary Dolphinmen cities using surrounding natural materials throughout the territory, and constructed underground passages for rapid movement across the entire region.

Here, the ‘reconstructed’ Dolphinmen are used to cultivate seaweed, which serves various purposes.

The rigid seaweed, boasting wood-like strength, is used to create simple household items like bowls and spoons, as well as dwellings for the Dolphinmen.

Soft edible seaweed or the kind that grows fruit-like appendages(?) is fed to the new breed of livestock monsters I created, either raising these monsters for nutrients or using the seaweed directly as a staple food for the Dolphinmen.

For special seaweed with mild anti-psychic effects, I secretly delivered it to Nano-Tech with instructions to manufacture weapons.

Thanks to this versatile seaweed that can be used in countless ways, the underwater territory(?) has become self-sufficient, able to sustain enough monsters to cover the vast maritime domain without requiring energy supplies from our side.

There are 100 million low-rank, 30,000 mid-rank, and three high-rank monsters (Emperor/two giant psychic whales).

Though the number might seem small compared to the land forces, which recently exceeded 1 billion despite the ocean being larger than the land territory, it’s more than sufficient to protect the domain.

Therefore, I’ve switched to a defensive posture for the ocean territory(?), focusing on defense and internal affairs, while on land, I’ve begun preparations to expand into the Pyongan Province area (west of Hamgyong Province).

As part of these preparations, I took time to survey and organize the territories I’ve conquered before the expedition.

    ※ ※ ※

My territory roughly encompasses parts of Gangwon Province, the Hamgyong Province area, and portions of the East Sea off North Korea.

If I were to broadly divide this territory, I could classify it into four main regions.

First is southern Gangwon Province below the DMZ—the area where I initially settled.

This region, currently managed by Tetra, is my former territory and also where continuous and steady engagements with humans take place.

Of course, since the main targets of these engagements are the guilds under Nano-Tech, our puppet (frankly speaking, Nano-Tech’s private army), most of the hunted monsters become resources for their weapons, so there’s no loss at all.

The deployed forces consist of approximately 5 million disguised self-destructing monsters and main forces hidden underground—100 million low-rank, 40,000 mid-rank, plus guerrilla mountain troops that constantly roam the area.

Second is the underwater territory and maritime domain managed by the Dolphinmen.

As mentioned earlier, there are tens of millions of Dolphinmen and monsters, along with hundreds of millions of subordinate mid and low-rank monsters, and a Dolphinmen Emperor stationed as a pet fish companion.

The Dolphinmen, who once formed their own society, are now merely slaves and simple laborers subordinate to me, making this region exceptionally productive.

The third zone is the recently acquired Hamgyong Province region.

While it appears to the human world as Dragon’s (Theseus’s) territory, directly opposing the Bomb Spider (me), it’s actually my territory with massive biological facilities built underground.

The stationed forces include a whopping 500 million low-rank and 100,000 mid-rank monsters, exceeding the numbers in northern Gangwon where I reside, but most remain buried underground in stasis.

With high-rank monsters Theseus and the Fire Dragon ruling like a couple (though they’re not), and the Fire Dragon’s offspring, the Lesser Dragons, potentially active on the surface, this region is the largest in scale among my territories.

Finally, the fourth zone is, naturally, where I reside—the northern Gangwon Province area.

It houses various biological facilities, including production facilities that generate 3 mid-rank monsters and thousands of low-rank monsters every 10 seconds. These biological facilities do more than just production.

There are facilities where humans converted into monsters are bound like brains in containers, remotely controlling monsters impersonating them, as well as my dedicated research facilities and cold storage for produced monsters.

For my main body’s defense, all kinds of defensive installations are set up, notably high-output laser anti-aircraft weapons and plasma or energy batteries.

Additionally, there’s a 60-story building-sized facility for generating defensive barriers like high-output psychic shields or information-blocking barriers. Naturally, only the finest troops are stationed at my headquarters.

For example, the minds of the monsters directly guarding my main body have formed superior consciousnesses selected from tens of billions of selves after running simulations hundreds of millions of times using the Hive Mind. These minds are injected into custom bodies between high and mid-rank—approximately grade 3.5.

These guard monsters, appearing to be composed of dozens of black-painted mechanical parts, are simply put, all-purpose monsters created to handle any situation.

They’re designed to be proficient in close combat, shooting, guarding, defense, psychic support, psychic attack, psychic defense, command, aerial combat, underwater combat, and various other functions, supported by transformation capabilities.

From their basic giant form to dragon form, fighter jet, snake-like elongated body, fixed gun emplacement, and even human-sized forms thanks to their spatial manipulation(B) psychic ability, they can adapt to any situation.

About 10,000 of these guard monsters—known as the Royal Guard—exist, with their egos essentially neutered, moving solely for my protection and a few other purposes.

They notably serve as spare bodies for me to directly possess, messengers delivering important commands, and representatives who will command the ‘Imperial Guard.’

The Imperial Guard, unlike the Royal Guard which is thoroughly cultivated as tools for my protection, is an army composed of monsters cultivated as combat weapons premised on external activities.

They were selected from exceptional monsters with extreme combat experience who have fought for me from the beginning, and their true identity is that each has been given a body in the form they desired.

Of course, normally they just repeatedly accumulate combat experience by dying and reviving in regular monster bodies deployed in battle, but occasionally they operate in customized grade 4 bodies.

And if an emergency occurs—solely for this purpose—I have something else prepared.

Deep underground, in a secret area where no one but me has set foot, bodies of high-rank monsters are being created for their use.

A total of 300 units are being produced, matching the number of Imperial Guards. To prevent detection by humans, I have never injected consciousness into them, but if I wish, they can be activated at any time to sweep away enemies.

    ※ ※ ※

Having surveyed my territory and confirmed what I’ve built so far, I now began to move in earnest to dominate the entire North Korean region.

My target is the Pyongan Province area, located west of Hamgyong Province.

There are no high-rank monsters forming major forces there, and forces like Orcs or Lizardmen are nothing compared to the Dolphinmen.

Of course, given the nature of Orcs, an Orc Lord (high-rank Orc/monarch monster like the Dolphinmen Emperor) or a monster with the potential to become an Orc Lord must have appeared somewhere, but such beings are insignificant before Theseus.

The same goes for Lizardmen; to form a society of that size, their six-tier hierarchical society must have a high-rank monster at the top.

But even so, they’re merely within expectations.

Even a humanoid high-rank monster would be no match for the combination of Theseus and the Mt. Baekdu Fire Dragon couple (though they’re not), and their army is nothing special.

An army armed with spears and weapons made from monster bones cannot defeat my monsters, so I ordered an attack without hesitation, but—

    [Great One, please save us!]

    ‘………..?’

From them—the Lizardmen I was about to crush—came a completely unexpected response.
