Ch.484″The end of battle doesn’t mean the end of work.” (3)

And well, now that we’ve resolved the debris field issue in that manner.
Two of the three major problems that had been bearing down on me could be considered more or less neatly and cleanly handled.
But despite working hard to solve all the problems that had swept through my territory, and even subduing those damned tricksters.
The last remaining problem—the one that had crashed down on “me” personally—was still giving me a massive headache.
“Jessica, what’s the current status of our fleet?”
“It’s extremely serious. The regular-rank ships are completely wiped out except for the resource fleet.”
“Hmm…”
“For your information, all our other forces are in shambles too.”
Right after hearing Jessica’s words, an event message appeared before my eyes, seemingly explaining exactly what problem we were facing.
—————————————–
<Event>
<Catastrophic Damage Status.>
<Details>
<While it’s wonderful that you’ve proven your leadership by facing off against the Punishment Fleet.>
<As a consequence, the condition of the fleets under your command has deteriorated to a catastrophic level.>
<Result>
<Deployment is impossible until your directly employed mercenary groups and base mercenary groups are 100% restored.>
<However, the leaders of these mercenary groups can be utilized separately.>
—————————————–
That’s right.
Through this Second Tannhäuser Siege, not only the base defense fleet,
But even my direct fleets had been ground down so severely that it was impossible to do anything with them—that was the problem.
Of course, the event message only told me “Your mercenary fleet is seriously wrecked,” nothing more.
But with Jessica being omnipotent in everything except gallery-related situations, there was no need for additional interpretation.
“Right now, Commander Lephan’s Rhodos Mercenary Group has only one battleship left.”
“Hmm.”
“Aquarias’s Avalonia Security Fleet has only two cruisers and one destroyer left—everything else is wiped out.”
“Wiped out, you say?”
“Yes, and Bendalof’s Ramings Assault Team and Nero’s Mecharshetentakel had all their ships blown up.”
“Oh…”
And beyond that, there was an even more serious problem.
The mercenary fleets would eventually repair themselves using my shipyard and then level up on their own, so I didn’t need to worry too much about them.
The problem was that the status of my fleet—the “main force”—had deteriorated to an extremely serious level.
“But honestly, the state of our main fleet is even more serious than the mercenary fleets.”
“…”
If Jessica was saying this about the main fleet while explaining the reality of the mercenary fleets, how bad could it be?
So just how severe was the damage we suffered…?
“Honestly, except for the Kraken that holed up in the Tannhäuser main gate toward the end, all our other main ships were either on the verge of being scrapped or were completely sunk.”
“That’s right.”
Jessica was correct.
Everyone already knew about the Laflesia-class that took a direct hit from the Titan Arum’s main cannon, the “Hyper Particle Lance Accelerator,” and turned into a donut, but…
“…Wait, when did the Bayern-class get sunk without anyone noticing?”
“It was tanking for the Ouroboros when it became immobilized due to overcharge overheating, and got focused down by enemy fleets.”
Starting with the Bayern-class heavy cruiser that had been sunk without anyone noticing…
The Ouroboros-class, which had its main weapon, the flame cannon, completely shattered except for the ‘H’ part after the aggro shifted to it following the Bayern’s sinking…
The Hresvelgr-class, which had diligently dealt damage by firing missiles from the rear, only to have its strategic missile platform explode from enemy fleet bombardment, leaving its hull looking like a filleted fish…
This was just the basic state of the “gacha-type ships,” but…
“The Dreadnought and the other ships… I wish I hadn’t looked.”
“It’s devastating, isn’t it?”

The fleet’s only Dreadnought-class had its bow completely blown off after being focused down even more intensely than the Bayern-class.
The regular-grade Dreadnought had more holes in its hull than intact sections.
The Kraken-class ships that barely survived with moderate damage and were naturally healing inside Tannhäuser.
And finally, seeing that all the other large ships had been completely annihilated except for one surviving regular-grade battleship.
I realized something I hadn’t had time to notice because I was too busy after the battle, and I could feel my mental state rapidly deteriorating.
And that was just talking about the big, beautiful large ships.
“Wait a minute, where did all my Brawler-class ships go? What about the Halfling-class I got from the monster?”
“They’re all gone. The Brawler-class was right next to the Ouroboros and was wiped out when the main cannon exploded.”
“Huh?”
“As for the Halfling-class, one was sold for gold, and the other was destroyed during the preliminary battle while engaging in fleet combat under Berial’s direction.”
All the ships except for the Khabarovsk, which had no reason to go to the front lines and remained tucked between the fleets.
Seeing that all the ships I had received as rewards, like the S-grade destroyer in the chrysalis, or the ships I had obtained through gacha during events, were ALL ground up.
The damage was so extensive that at this point, I decided to take a break as my mental state couldn’t handle any more.
==========
And after somehow managing to hold onto my shaky mental state.
After putting the severely damaged Dreadnought, battleship, Hresvelgr, and Ouroboros into the shipyard for repairs.
I decided to set a very important goal at this point.
“Jessica, oh Jessica.”
“You don’t need to call me like I’m a genie in a lamp. What is it?”
“For our fleet to survive for a long time to come, I think we need a tanking-type ship of SS-grade or higher, whether we like it or not.”
“Uh… that’s right.”
It’s quite ironic, but what is the current composition of my fleet?
Although I didn’t particularly intend it…
The structure is thoroughly designed to “support other fleets,” which meant I was bound to get screwed in “small-scale fleet battles” including 1:1 battles with other users.
I now felt that our fleet needed a proper “tank” rather than an evasion-tank style that relies on uncertain probability battles.
‘We really need someone who can take hits, seriously.’
And according to my determination, since I had received plenty of gacha usage rights as rewards for clearing the Leviathan Squadron quest.
“Prepare the ritual, Jessica!”
“What?”
“It’s been proven that my abnormal luck has normalized after getting the Khabarovsk, Brawler, Dorniyana, and Halflings!”
“Ah… are you planning to use dimensional causality fixation to draw a tanking ship?”
“That’s exactly it!!”
With the heart of a beast, I decided to aim for a ship with defensive capabilities similar to or stronger than the Bayern that had now crossed the rainbow bridge.
Anyway, hoping to draw a ship worth selling on the market, I decided to cleanse myself and use the usage rights on our omnipotent gacha machine.
