Ch. 48 Parna Opening
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 48 – Parna Opening
No casualties, no injuries. The operation to raid the Singing Cult’s hideout was successfully completed.
Einhardt entrusted the captured heretics to the clergy and approached Isolin and me.
“I told you before… not to come down from above.”
Einhardt’s expression turned stern, like an adult scolding a child. If Isolin and I were ordinary children, we might have been intimidated and kept quiet.
However, we didn’t. Instead, we puffed out our chests and shouted.
“We were worried, so we came down to help!”
“That’s right!”
In truth, I had come down for my own purposes, but outwardly, it must have looked like we were kind priests concerned for others. Indeed, the other clergy members praised us for our bravery.
-As expected… Priest Supreme…
-Without hesitation, even though it was dangerous… They came down because they were worried about us.
-I heard they even captured a heretic priest? At such a young age…
-I’ve also heard rumors about Isolin the Mage, they say she’s a rising star of the Magic Tower…
As long as the outcome is good, everything is fine. Isolin and I puffed up with pride at the compliments.
Einhardt, who had been standing with his hands on his hips, finally let out a sigh.
“Sigh… Still, I’m glad. You’re not hurt, are you?”
“Of course not!”
“We’re fine.”
“Then let’s head back. Everyone, stay alert. Especially, make sure no songs escape the heretics’ mouths!”
Following Einhardt’s orders, the return procession began.
The captured heretics were bound so tightly they could barely move their legs, dragged along by the inquisitors.
The inquisitors, with their terrifying gazes fixed on the heretics, sent chills down my spine.
Isolin and I had to lie down on the small sled again, just like on the way here.
The sky above was blue.
After returning to Parna Village, the time for rewards finally arrived. While we couldn’t yet receive the main quest reward, we did receive the reward promised by Hark.
“Thank you for your help. I’ve packed a little more than we initially agreed…”
“Wow…”
What Hark handed over were two large boxes. Isolin and I immediately opened them to check the contents.

In addition to the promised rewards, gloves and crampons were added separately. Isolin and I immediately equipped the new gear.
Poof—!
A short flash of light, and we were now wearing the full Parna cold-weather set.
I looked down at the fluffy wolf fur coat and moved around. It was stylish yet practical.
Much more comfortable to move in than the thick fur coat we had received earlier, and the cold was no longer an issue.
“Supreme! Look at this! It’s a wolf head!”
There was even a wolf-head hood. Isolin giggled as she pulled the wolf head over her own.
The wolf fur coat’s uniqueness wasn’t just the wolf head. The back of the coat had a long, trailing tail. Wagging your hips made the tail sway—a design that certain people would definitely love.
Isolin and I were playfully swatting at each other with our wolf tails when I noticed Hark’s expression had darkened.
“Ah…”
I suddenly remembered. There were people we had forgotten. The hunters who had been attacked by the Yeti last night—we still hadn’t found them.
That must be why Hark’s expression was so grim.
I crossed my arms and fell into thought. This problem was something Isolin and I couldn’t solve on our own. It would be great if we could get help from others, but our social connections were very limited.
The only person we could call for help was, at best, Gladie…
As I was lost in thought, Einhardt approached, crunching through the snow. The sight of the paladin, his crimson cloak billowing, made my eyes widen.
“Priest Supreme. Isolin. Let’s get ready. We’ve accomplished our goal, so it’s time to return to the temple.”
“Einhardt!”
“Yes…?”
Why had I forgotten this? We had Einhardt.
Einhardt’s power was so great that even the deity from another realm had taken notice. A level 80 paladin could easily cut down a level 40 boss in a single strike.
Someone as kind as Einhardt wouldn’t ignore this situation. Plus, it would look good. A young priest worried about people kidnapped by the Yeti? My reputation in the temple would skyrocket.
“We desperately need your help, Einhardt!”
I waved my arms and began explaining to Einhardt what had happened last night.
How we had taken a sled to the hunters’ cabin with Hark’s help, and how the giant Yeti had appeared and destroyed everything.
When I got to the part about the Yeti, I waved my arms wildly to emphasize how terrifying it was.
“Hmm…”
Einhardt stroked his chin as he listened. Hark, standing nearby, also looked at Einhardt with a hint of expectation.
“Always act for the sake of this world. That’s what Arkereth said. A Yeti that kidnaps people is clearly evil. We can’t ignore this.”
“Does that mean…!”
“I’ll help.”
Einhardt immediately began directing the clergy. Leaving only the minimum number of people to watch over the heretics in the village, he formed a Yeti tracking team.
“Please guide us to where the Yeti appeared.”
Led by Hark, the Yeti tracking team rode sleds across the snowy wilderness. The small sled carrying Isolin and me rattled violently as we sped across the snow.
When we arrived at the hunters’ cabin, however, there was no cabin. Only the remnants of collapsed logs and broken furniture scattered across the snow.
“Th-this…”
Hark let out a deep sigh at the sight. It seemed that while we were gone, the Yeti had destroyed the place.
Einhardt, who had been observing the scene, spoke.
“Given its massive size, there should be noticeable traces left behind. From now on, spread out and search for signs of the Yeti. Signal if you find anything…”
As he finished speaking, Einhardt began untying the rope from his hand. It was the rope connecting Isolin and me to the sled.
“Einhardt? Why are you untying the sled…?”
“From now on, I’ll be running through the mountains. The sled won’t be able to keep up with my speed. Naturally, Priest Supreme and Isolin wouldn’t be able to stay safe on it either.”
“Does that mean…”
“Yes. Please stay here.”
It was for the best. Rather than facing the dangerous Yeti directly, it was much safer to wait here for it to be defeated. We might not get the field boss rewards, but what could we do?
“Alright.”
“Please keep your promise this time…”
With those words, Einhardt let out a roar and disappeared.
Boom—!
“Ugh…”
With a powerful kick, the ground caved in, sending snow and dirt flying into the air. Though Einhardt’s figure was no longer visible, the occasional boom sounds in the distance gave us a rough idea of where he was.
“Wow…”
If I reached level 80, could I move like that too? It took Einhardt less than a minute to cross an entire mountain.
How much time had passed? After the rest of the clergy had gone off to search for the Yeti, Hark, Isolin, and I rolled small snowballs and made a snowman.
As he rolled the snowball, Hark looked worriedly at the distant mountains and spoke.
“Is it really okay for us to be making a snowman like this?”
“Don’t worry! Einhardt’s gone, so the Yeti will be taken care of soon.”
“But…”
He’s someone who can cross a mountain in a single leap. If he can move that fast, his strength must be incredible. A giant Yeti would be cut down in an instant.
The important thing was the fate of the kidnapped people. As we worried about their survival…
Flash—!
“Gasp…”
A massive light, like the sun in the sky, erupted from beyond the mountains. The warm, holy light brought a shockwave, and a gentle breeze swept across the snowy field.
“No way…”
Einhardt and the other clergy returned about an hour later. They brought back the pale-faced hunters on sleds—all of them alive.
“Ah, ah! Thank you so much!”
Hark, overjoyed at the sight of his comrades’ safe return, knelt down and cried like a child, despite being a grown man.
It was a relief that everyone was alive. Watching the scene, Isolin and I smiled lightly.
Then, Einhardt approached us. In his arms was a sword I hadn’t seen before.
“Einhardt?”
“This weapon appeared where we defeated the Yeti. Sometimes, powerful monsters drop equipment infused with their energy. I don’t need this, so I’ll give it to you.”
“Ah…”
Clang.
[Frostbite]
- Level Requirement: 40
- Equip Restriction: Warrior, Knight
- Physical Attack +15
- Armor Penetration +5

–The blade seems to contain winter itself.–
I had received an incredible item I hadn’t even dreamed of. I stared at the icy sword in my hands, with my mouth agape.
