We lost the fortress’s main cannon right from the start, but in exchange, we didn’t have to face the damn Titan Arum and the rest of the fleet’s spear attacks.

    <Tannhäuser Alliance Private Chat>

    -[LOLOLOLOL the fortress cannon tanked for us]

    -[Let’s gooooooo]

    -[Now’s our chance!!!]

    -[I thought we’d be doing the tanking, not the base]

    -[LOLOL damn]

    —————————————–

    Users who had been betting on which fleet would be the first to meet its demise began engaging with the Punishment Fleet that was advancing forward on the foundation of my gloom.

    And the battle that followed was, as always, filled with truly dazzling visual spectacles.

    Large, beautiful beam cannons firing wildly, with destroyers and smaller ships charging toward the advancing enemy fleet.

    Thousands of missiles fired from both sides, including arsenal ships, crossing paths, jamming each other, and exploding everywhere.

    Missiles and shells flying across the vast battlefield between both sides, with projectiles from both sides colliding and intercepting each other mid-flight.

    As both fleets exchanged overwhelming firepower that even a dreadnought couldn’t withstand for more than a few minutes…

    —————————————–

    <Tannhäuser Alliance Private Chat>

    -[Spread out your fleet’s firepower so it doesn’t get concentrated]

    -[Ah shit, my battleship]

    -[Regular-rank battleships can’t withstand concentrated fire unless they’re gacha ships, just think of them as meat shields]

    -[Wow, their fleet is getting shredded instantly too]

    -[We’re getting shredded too!!!]

    —————————————–

    Perhaps it was due to the sheer scale of both sides.

    Battleships were being destroyed at the insane rate of “one ship per second.”

    And if the intense barrage was destroying battleships at one per second, there was no way lower-tier ships could last long.

    After both sides exchanged full-power bombardments for less than an hour…

    —————————————–

    <Tannhäuser Alliance Private Chat>

    -[Damn, all my regular ships are gone, and my gacha ships are heavily damaged so I’m retreating]

    -[Me too]

    -[No need to retreat, mining ships are waiting if you fall back to the carrier line]

    -[Oh]

    -[Wait, particle lances are reaching all the way here!]

    -[They won’t hit from that distance, don’t panic]

    -[All my ships are destroyed, I only have superhumans left so I’m retreating]

    -[At least provide cover fire with your ranged superhumans]

    -[What? It’s only been an hour and already 10% are gone?]

    -[2,000 people have already lost their entire fleet?]

    —————————————–

    About 10% of the users who had been maintaining battle formation had essentially lost their entire fleet, forcing them to make emergency retreats back to base rather than a tactical withdrawal.

    The Alliance was suffering horrific levels of damage.

    And the real problem wasn’t just the frontal bombardment.

    —————————————–

    <Tannhäuser Alliance Private Chat>

    -[Front line is extremely dangerous]

    -[Carriers, do your job!]

    -[Let’s go]

    -[Time to show our awesome teleport power]

    -[For real lol]

    —————————————–

    Some users were planning to use the recently distributed(?) Rafflesia-class carriers to launch surprise attacks on the enemy fleet’s rear.

    After several hundred users with Rafflesia-class carriers gathered together…

    They formed an escort formation to protect their precious carriers, activated their teleporters all at once to teleport their carrier-based aircraft to the enemy fleet’s rear, when suddenly…

    —————————————–

    <Tannhäuser Alliance Private Chat>

    -[Oh shit]

    -[Wait above above above above]

    -[Damn, teleport incoming!]

    -[What’s our anti-air doing?!]

    -[Escort fleet, do your job, damn it!]

    -[Nooooooooo]

    —————————————–

    The insane Punishment Fleet command, as soon as they detected the users’ large-scale teleport attack, immediately used their own Rafflesia II-class carriers.

    They launched a surprise aerial assault directly above the users’ Rafflesia cluster.

    The users’ Rafflesia-class carriers, which had been relying solely on their escort fleet, suffered a terrible outcome due to a moment’s misjudgment.

    In just 20 minutes, hundreds of carriers exploded, with devastating results.

    But even with the Rafflesia-class carriers being destroyed en masse by surprise attacks…

    And even though the users suffered proportionally greater losses due to their smaller overall numbers…

    The Punishment Fleet wasn’t exactly able to push the users back easily.

    ===========

    -“All forces advance, for the Empire!”

    -“Show those inferior beings our true power!”

    Despite destroying many of the enemy’s main ships in the initial barrage…

    And countering their teleport assault, destroying hundreds of aircraft carriers in their rear…

    Despite using every means at their disposal to inflict massive damage on the user alliance…

    -BOOM! BANG!

    -“Argghhh!!”

    -“The enemy’s firepower isn’t diminishing!”

    -“Why isn’t their firepower decreasing?!”

    The “Punishment Fleet,” advancing under the orders of the Xenovia Empire’s Emperor, was struggling against the unexpectedly powerful firepower of the “Commanders.”

    Naturally, the Punishment Fleet’s command was unable to hide their bewilderment at the fact that despite clearly having numerical superiority in ships, they were only achieving parity in fleet firepower.

    But that was only momentary.

    -“W-wait, high energy reaction detected ahead!”

    -“Superhumans confirmed among the enemy fleet! The superhumans are firing!”

    -“How many superhumans could they possibly have?”

    -“No, there must be nearly 50,000 of them.”

    -“Oh.”

    Surprisingly, far exceeding the Punishment Fleet’s expectations, nearly 50,000 “ranged superhumans” were supplementing the fleet’s firepower.

    From the Punishment Fleet’s perspective, it was as if they were facing an additional 50,000+ battleship or dreadnought-class bombardments.

    They could only watch in disbelief as their fleet suffered unexpectedly severe damage.

    ==========

    And the gallery users who were receiving real-time broadcasts of these scenes through the “Reporter” were showing rather mixed reactions, perhaps because the battle situation was too monotonous despite its overwhelming scale.

    Of course, realistically, most users shared the perception that “this can’t be helped.”

    Title: The Battle of Tannhäuser is wild

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [GIF of white beams of light from the “Reporter’s” real-time broadcast]

    This is a head-on clash between capital ships numbering in the millions, something we barely saw even during the Humanity Revolution, right?

    But maybe it’s because this is a single battle on a scale that neither we nor any faction has ever experienced before.

    Neither side can flip the battle situation through unconventional strategies LOLOL

    Users just tried using hundreds of Rafflesia-class carriers but got counter-attacked and died.

    The faction managed to snipe and destroy the fortress’s main cannon first.

    Conversely, the carrier-based aircraft from those destroyed Rafflesia-class carriers did successfully teleport,

    And those aircraft managed to take down one Titan Arum-class in their desperate attack,

    But regardless, none of that is making any difference to the current battle situation.

    Honestly, looking at it now, they’re just having a chicken game of unlimited firepower exchange, seeing who runs out of firepower first.

    Comments:

    -[For real, it’s somehow much more intense than expected but also much more monotonous]

    -[The scale is too large for fancy maneuvers]

    -[I never thought I’d see Line of Battle tactics like in Legend of the Galactic Empire in this game]

    -[Why can’t they flank? Can’t they just divert some forces?]

    -˪[If you divert forces for flanking, the front line will collapse]

    -˪[Users are barely holding their own against the Punishment Fleet even with all their ranged superhumans mobilized LOL]

    —————————————–

    To summarize, it was a case of “the scale is too large to try anything fancy!”

    Most users in the gallery and other areas had unified in their opinion to just enjoy the spectacular no-holds-barred line battle.
