Ch.476The Second Siege of Tannhäuser. (1)

Unlike other places, perhaps it’s because this place has developed an image of users collectively rising up and resisting the powers that be, regardless of how it started.

**Title: Breaking News) User Alliance Forces and Xenovia Punitive Fleet in Standoff at Tannhäuser**
**Author: News Boy**

For now, I can only tell you what’s in the title
I’ll provide more details as the battle progresses through our clan member dispatched to the scene

-˪[Lucky you]
-[Oh, events should definitely have big battles like this]
-˪[For real]
-˪[I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen lol]

Recently there have been many knockoffs and imitations, but this gentleman who still holds a firm position as a journalist(?) among users has even brought his spectator ship.
Users seem to be showing considerable interest in the current situation in many ways.
Perhaps it’s because the punitive fleet is facing more than 20,000 users’ ships showing fierce resistance around the level 7 stronghold.
Unlike their previously aggressive demeanor, they’ve stopped their fleet’s advance before entering each other’s firing range.
They appear to be carefully examining our situation.
Thanks to this, we could finally get a clear view of the enemy’s main ships, which had been difficult to identify due to their sheer numbers.
The problem was that the state of the enemy’s main ships, which we couldn’t properly see until now, had a structure that directly countered the users’ “elite few with high-grade ships” approach.
So what’s it like, you ask?

**Title: Xenovia Fleet is Insane?**
**Author: Anonymous**
**Content:** [Image of various ‘bombardment-type’ dreadnoughts and battleships, destroyers, led by 7 Obsidian Squadron’s super dreadnoughts ‘Titan Arum-class’.jpg]
They’ve brought ships specifically designed to target and destroy large ships
Especially that Titan Arum has a death spear that can destroy a super dreadnought or stronghold wall in one shot, so you must avoid it at all costs
**Comments:**
-[What? It can one-shot not just regular dreadnoughts but super dreadnoughts?]
-˪[The Obsidian Squadron has more firepower than the Leviathan Squadron to begin with, so that’s to be expected]
-[Are carriers our only hope?]
-˪[By the time your fighter jets reach the enemy fleet, your carrier and stronghold will be gone]
-[We’re screwed]

**Title: That Titan Arum is a Nightmare Ship in a Different Way from Jormungand**
**Author: Ruler of the Philippines**
**Content:** [Image of a regular-grade battleship being sunk by a Jormungand-class.jpg]
I know this because I participated as a mercenary during the Humanity Revolution and fought against the border defense fleet’s Jormungand
While Jormungand is powerful in firepower, it invested more in defense, making it a pain in the ass to sink
Titan Arum, in typical Xenovia fashion, relies on shields and anti-air systems for defense
The rest is all invested in firepower, so when you face it, you’re guaranteed to lose at least one main ship from the start, which sucks
The worst part is that no matter how many decoy ships you throw at it, even though it would be easy to sink, they don’t target those
They prioritize the ‘largest and most powerful ships’ in the user fleet, which makes it even more frustrating
[Concept art of Titan Arum’s super-large main cannon, ‘Hyper Particle Lance Accelerator’.jpg]
By the way, some posts claim that even super dreadnoughts go down in one hit from that thing, but that’s an exaggeration
If that were true, users would be doing everything possible to capture a Titan Arum
But medium battleships and below will definitely go down in one hit
[Image of a regular-grade battleship turned into a donut.jpg]
So my fellow users, don’t charge in against those things, and if you’re going to get hit, don’t try some half-assed evasive maneuvers that get other ships hit with you
Just blow up alone
**Comments:**
-[What]
-[But if it’s a battleship-class, even if it turns into a donut, the ship behind it won’t die, right?]
-˪[If the one behind is also battleship-class, it’ll turn into a donut too]
-˪[What if there’s another battleship above that one?]
-˪[Same thing, becomes a donut]
-˪[And if there’s another battleship behind that?]
-˪[Dude, this conversation will never end]
-[What kind of forced comedy routine are you guys doing up there?]
-˪[Then how many ships does it take to withstand it?]
-˪[For regular-grade, if you line up battleships in a row, it penetrates through 4 ships, and from the 5th ship, it’s not penetration but heavy damage]

“Hmmmm.”
“Are the Commander’s fleets targeting the fact that if high-grade ships are destroyed, they’ll be instantly crippled?”
“Seems that way.”
According to that post, they’re planning to thoroughly grind down users’ ships with the fucking awesome super cannon of the terribly powerful Titan Arum-class.
Given the users’ characteristic of having most of their fleet power concentrated in ‘a small number of high-grade large ships (gacha ships)’.
It seemed they were planning to exploit the fact that once the main battle begins and flagship ships start exploding, users’ morale would collapse.
The problem was that even if they strengthened their anti-ship capabilities, our side should at least be able to counter with fighter aircraft or small ship forces if their capabilities were weak in those areas.
But besides the Titan Arum and other anti-ship forces, the punitive fleet’s auxiliary forces were also incredibly powerful.

**Title: Oh, There’s a Mona Lisa Ship**
**Author: Anonymous**
**Content:** [Image of the Anomalocaris-class super-large carrier positioned at the center of the punitive fleet, with Rafflesia II-class assault combat carriers nearby.jpg]
There are also plenty of Rafflesia-class and other carriers
Defense is absolute garbage though
At least the Rafflesia-class becomes useless when using teleport
So I’m a bit less worried
**Comments:**
-[Wait, we shouldn’t be worrying about the Titan Arum]
-[Lolololololol]
-[That’s a Rafflesia II-class]
-˪[What’s the difference?](Author)
-˪[What the admins distributed was just Rafflesia-class, but that one has the teleportation disadvantage fixed]
-˪[So it doesn’t become unresponsive when using teleport, it just can’t move]
-˪[Is this for real](Author)

Besides these issues, there were many other problems.
To summarize the situation: “The punitive fleet seems much stronger than expected!”
While we were spying on the punitive fleet, perhaps they had also fully assessed our situation.
Just as I was checking the post about the Rafflesia II-class and judging it to be an absolutely wicked creation…
*BEEP BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEP!!!*
“Commander, the punitive fleet has begun advancing toward us!”
“Oh shit, it’s finally starting.”
As soon as the news that the Xenovia bastards’ punitive fleet had finally begun their advance came through the base command center’s alarm…
—
**<Tannhäuser Alliance Forces Private Chat>**
-[Shit, they’re coming]
-[They’re coming!]
-[Are the destroyer bombardments ready?]
-[Arsenal ships are all on standby too]
-[Hmm, the time has come for my Rafflesia to shine]
-[Who’s that idiot in front of the fortress cannon? Get to the front quickly]
—
Seeing the temporary chat room alarm going crazy—created because these were users from different clans and factions united as one—
I realized that the real battle had finally begun, and immediately encouraged the users to resist fiercely according to plan.
I decided to rain hellfire on those annoying punitive fleet friends using the fortress main cannon, which had been restored by pouring millions of resources into Tannhäuser.
But at that very moment.
*WHEEEEEEEE…*
*KWAAAANG!!!!*
-“Enemy fleet’s concentrated fire has hit the fortress cannon barrel!”
-“Barrel damage at 25%!”
-“Unable to fire, entering emergency repairs!”
“Ah.”
“Things are going to hell from the start.”
I felt my stress levels rising dramatically as I watched things not going according to plan from the very beginning of the battle.
