Ch.4747. Double Slash (SSS+)
by fnovelpia
What’s the best way to survive in a Farming World?
From my perspective, Farming World is a healing, farming, ranch management, resource farming genre game.
Newbies who first try Farming World often describe it as an extreme survival game.
It can’t be helped.
For users who have never experienced this genre of games, the amount of information they need to process increases tens to hundreds of times compared to simple games where you just “click” “click” after entering. Would they even recognize the resources piled in front of their house as resources? Many ask how to clean up this “garbage” and whether they should keep it after cleaning, wondering what it’s used for.
Most people tend to sell or throw away items that don’t have immediate use. Storage space is limited in the early game, but you acquire various types of resources with nowhere to put them. Leaving them on the ground looks messy. If you throw something away thinking you’ll get it later when needed, when that moment comes, you’ll think, “Huh? What was this again… I remember using it before.” You’ll search your storage but won’t find it, and when you try to obtain it again, you’ll fall into the dilemma of not being able to.
Above all, the hunting difficulty in this game was quite high.
Now only I know that Farming World is like a test server for the Rift Dimension.
That’s why I know the hunter system in reality and the hunting system in Farming World are the same, which allows users to feel like they’re becoming hunters and hunting monsters themselves.
Users unfamiliar with combat inevitably feel this part is an insurmountable wall.
Of course, many users played by just protecting their farms using various skills incorporated into the game system, but even that wasn’t as easy as expected. To survive, you had to struggle, and the most basic rule—the first principle of survival in Farming World—was never to save resources.
This doesn’t apply only to Farming World.
Save it and lose it.
Any resource loses value over time.
Especially in Farming World, where resources can be obtained in stages, the initial resources from level 0 biomes are most valuable at the moment you acquire them.
While it’s important to save for an uncertain future, if you can become stronger or advance your tech tree immediately, you should use them without hesitation.
Just upgrading from F-grade tools to E-grade tools makes the game ridiculously easier in level 0 biomes.
The same applies to farming ability points.
Whether you’re farming crops,
mining resources,
or hunting.
It’s best to use the ability points you earn from leveling up as quickly as possible in ways that help you.
Of course, you might lose out if you allocate points too hastily and make mistakes, or if you discover better abilities later, but at least before executing any plan, it’s better to use all your farming ability points to boost your specs before proceeding.
This applies to me too.
Since I started growing my Rift Dimension farm, I’ve never saved farming ability points.
I did save up 10 points at a time, but that was the minimum needed to learn SSS+ grade skills, so it was better to save them for that than use them elsewhere.
This time is no different.
I thought the “Corrupted Ogre” wouldn’t be as easy to defeat as Big Rats’ Mom or Goblins.
It wouldn’t die quickly just by draining its mana.
With all my stats at Strength-Agility-Vitality S, I had to consider that the ogre’s health could be anywhere from S to S+.
So I needed to prepare thoroughly.
But this time, there was no need to worry.
Among the SSS+ grade skills, only [Double Slash] remained that could be purchased with 10 points.
[Used 10 Farming Points to purchase skill [Double Slash(SSS+)]!]
I bought it without hesitation.
Once again, my hard-earned 10 farming points disappeared.
It was the goblins’ legacy, but…
I’ll put it to good use, little ones.
[Double Slash]
– Grade: SSS+
– Active Skill (Melee Weapon)
– Mana Cost: 4
– All attacks gain an additional attack for 10 seconds.
– Additional attacks deal 200% extra damage.
– 10% chance to apply ‘Bleeding(SSS+)’ for 10 seconds. (Reduces health by 1% per second)
[Double Slash] had excellent synergy with [Leap Slash].
The two could be considered combo skills.
Leap Slash increases the number of slashes based on agility, and when used with Double Slash, all attacks gain additional hits, resulting in ridiculous damage amplification.
“Isn’t a % damage option legendary?”
Life-reducing percentage options are called legendary options among users.
While the percentage value matters, it’s highly efficient because it ignores the target’s defense.
There are options that reduce even percentage damage, but they’re hard to obtain and limited in application.
Moreover, Double Slash is a full 10% over 10 seconds.
A 10% chance to reduce 10% of health.
The probability itself isn’t that high, but when used with [Leap Slash], you attack 10 times in an instant, virtually guaranteeing at least one bleeding effect.
“This is insane.”
If there’s one drawback, it’s that the mana consumption is quite high for a melee weapon skill.
Using [Double Slash] and [Leap Slash] together costs 9 mana.
To maximize the 10-second duration of [Double Slash], you need to use [Leap Slash] as much as possible within those 10 seconds, meaning my mana will likely be depleted within that time.
I thought the 20% mana consumption reduction might help, but for it to take effect, the reduction needs to be at least 1. With [Double Slash], a 20% reduction is only 0.8, so the mana cost remains at 4.
A drawback of a system that doesn’t calculate decimals.
Anyway, my total mana increased to 80, which I thought was plenty, but after learning [Double Slash], it doesn’t seem so abundant anymore.
Still, getting stronger is getting stronger.
“I can’t contain myself.”
I wanted to try it somewhere.
Even testing it in the air was impressive enough to make me gasp.
Sha-sha-sha-sha-shak!
The number of sword swings remains the same.
Five sword strikes while leaping quickly.
Hung- hung- hung- hung- hung-
Along the trajectory of the passing blade, something tears through again.
Pat! Pat! Pat! Pat! Pat!
It’s almost simultaneous.
In terms of time, maybe 0.1 seconds?
Even without slashing twice, additional hits automatically strike the same spot.
This is incredible.
If an additional hit with 3x damage lands on the wound I’ve made…
If I attack the same target 5 times and all 5 additional hits connect…
“The ogre might make an excellent sandbag.”
This level of power makes me feel ready to take on an S-grade ogre.
Tomorrow, I’ll head south for reconnaissance.
If I encounter any monsters along the way, I can test my skills.
Just like when I first got Leap Slash and gradually improved through experience fighting Big Rats and Goblins, I need to practice this combo skill to understand how to use it more efficiently and naturally.
It was a satisfying purchase.
Buying a 10-point skill is much more dopamine-inducing than buying a 300-million-won bracelet at a department store.
“Ah!”
I almost forgot while shopping for skills.
“I need to expand my house too.”
I need to use the 10 settlement points I received from clearing the goblin village.
The range had already expanded even without me using them.
The area around my hut has increased by 10P and is now under the influence of the settlement. If I want, I can use ‘Construction Mode’ to change the shape of this settlement area.
Now, depending on the settlement’s shape, I can use Construction Mode to expand or reduce my house or build separate structures.
It’s very convenient.
Of course, I can freely build assuming I have the materials, but fortunately, in this map, resources like wood and building materials are sufficiently available even in the early stages.
“Let’s expand right away.”
Creating a massive mansion requires architectural consideration, but expanding a small hut like this also needs its own deliberation.
I started expanding the hut with Construction Mode activated.
