Ch.46A Big One’s Coming (2)

[Yaraehyang: Did you hear Ignius got destroyed? The rumors are all over the forum]
[SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage: What a shame… I should have at least told him to his face how terrible he is before leaving]
I chuckled as I replied to Seria’s chat.
[Yaraehyang: That little brat needed a beating sooner or later lol. People grow by getting knocked down sometimes]
[SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage: You’re talking as if you’re human yourself]
[Yaraehyang: Believe it or not, I’ve known that kid for quite a while. I thought it wasn’t my place to do anything, but fortunately you took care of it for me]
I smirked at Seria’s words.
It’s not like I fought him to teach him a lesson.
It was simply that his disrespectful attitude toward me made my blood boil as someone born in the land of courtesy and propriety.
If anything, I briefly wondered afterward if what I did was appropriate.
Of course, I wasn’t thinking clearly at the time because of my anger, but looking back, I wondered if I went too far against a fellow Magic Tower Master.
I didn’t even know there were CCTVs in the magic practice room…
‘What’s a CCTV doing in a fantasy world anyway…’
I guess they made it with some incredible technology again.
I don’t know what it’s made of, but even the Blood Tower, which is said to be the poorest, was filled with all sorts of items that would be considered over-technology by modern standards.
As soon as you enter, there’s the bathroom that magically cleans itself, and the plumbing system that provides hot water immediately, which is supposedly difficult to achieve…
And there’s even a function that checks my health status simply by channeling magical power through it, though I’m not sure if that’s just for me.
The exterior has a futuristic and sophisticated form, so staying here makes me wonder if I’m living in a fantasy world or a future world.
Well… I suppose it’s just me who feels that way.
It makes sense that I’m not used to these things since I’m a person from a thousand years ago, but for the others, these are things they’ve enjoyed since birth.
Anyway, thanks to the unexpected existence of those CCTVs, news of Ignius’s major defeat by my hands spread to all the other children in the Blood Tower, which could be considered a fortunate turn of events.
I simply taught some manners to a kid who didn’t know proper etiquette, yet everyone was celebrating as if I’d accomplished something great.
Since I believed that regaining confidence was the most important thing for the Blood Tower, I could say that things were going well.
[Yaraehyang: What are you planning to do now?]
[SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage: Prepare for the Greatest Magic Tower Tournament]
I’ve already thought about what to do.
I just need to get started.
[Yaraehyang: I guess it’s about time to prepare… since they said it would be held in summer]
[SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage: You mean the season when fire spirits frolic?]
[Yaraehyang: You sound like such an old fogey…]
What’s an “old fogey”…?
[Yaraehyang: You know? When someone has low stamina, they call them “old fogey.” I heard they call old people who are about to die that]
What the…
[SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage: I never would have imagined…]
[Yaraehyang: I was also amazed when I first heard it, thinking “kids these days are something else” lol. Seems you didn’t know either? It’s a popular term among our generation…]
Our generation?
[SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage: Haven’t you lived for a thousand years? Saying “our generation” doesn’t quite fit]
[Yaraehyang: Blood Tower Master, please be quiet^^]
Touched a nerve there.
* * *
I didn’t have much to prepare.
First, significantly modifying the Blood Strengthening Art to teach the children, and then maintaining the opened blood vessels…
I’ll just call it Blood Flow Art.
Since there’s no proper name for it…
Anyway, with just these two techniques, blood mages will be able to gain incomparably stronger power than before.
It’s unfortunate that currently, the Blood Strengthening Art needs to be personally cast on each new blood mage, but my goal now is to create a system where senior mages can pass it down to junior mages once standardization is achieved.
And to make these two techniques applicable in the Greatest Magic Tower Tournament, I needed to teach them as quickly as possible.
So I urgently posted an announcement.
[Blood Tower Master, Midir Tepes announces.] – SuperGeniusTruePrettyBloodMage (Supreme Administrator)
The season when fire spirits frolic is approaching.
As everyone knows, the first Greatest Magic Tower Tournament, hosted by Eterna, will be held during this time.
This is a golden opportunity for all Magic Towers to showcase their research results and magical prowess, making it the most important competition for our Blood Tower.
Therefore, I, Midir Tepes, will personally teach you the basics of blood magic, so please make sure to participate.
It’s fine if you cannot attend this time due to unavoidable reasons.
This lecture will be held four times in total, so there should be no reason to miss it.
End of announcement.
After writing down where I would teach and the schedule, I let out a sigh.
As the Tower Master represents the entire Magic Tower, posting such a direct announcement means it’s a matter of great importance.
You must attend no matter what.
That way, I won’t have to find each person individually to cast the spell.
Even though I care for all our blood mages, I can’t personally go to each one to cast the Blood Strengthening Art. To do that, you’d need to be at least an elder, or at minimum a high-ranking mage… Do you know how difficult it is to do it just once?
Honestly, I can’t do it for everyone the way I did for Irina.
Plus…
‘I still have to sink my teeth into the necks of people I don’t know…’
The thought of pouncing on a man and sinking my teeth into his neck is just…
I don’t like it…
Since I didn’t want to go that far, I was considering using a simple Blood Claw Art to cast the Blood Strengthening Art.
[A sudden announcement?]
[What’s this? Midir herself posted it?]
[Midir?!]
Since I rarely post on the forum, people’s reactions were particularly enthusiastic.
‘I wish I could join in the conversation…’
One of the most enjoyable things beyond just reading posts is posting myself, but unfortunately, I didn’t have a MagicPad for my alternate account.
They would probably give me one if I asked, but I was reluctant because rumors might spread about me using an alt account…
‘Should I ask someone trustworthy?’
Do other kids have this much trouble when using alt accounts?
Somehow it felt unfair that becoming a Tower Master meant I couldn’t even comfortably browse the forum.
‘Come to think of it, there was the Transcendent Forum.’
I remember Eterna mentioning a kind of community space that could be accessed simply by becoming a Transcendent.
Apparently, this TowerInside was modeled after that.
I wanted to see this Transcendent Forum, but I also had an inexplicable anxiety that I would regret it.
How should I put it… it felt like a warning that I might get addicted and spend all day browsing it…
‘I should check it out later when I have time…’
It doesn’t make sense to try accessing it right now when I don’t even know how to open it.
‘Eterna said it would appear just by thinking about it…’
Why isn’t it working?
I’m definitely a Transcendent, but I can’t access the forum that Transcendents can use…
‘Maybe there’s something in the status window.’
That’s the only difference I can think of between Eterna and myself.
For now…
‘Focus on the Magic Tower.’
Raising the reputation of the Blood Tower.
That’s why preparing for the lecture was more important right now.
With that thought, I closed the MagicPad and pondered how to teach.
With Irina, I just had to explain and she followed along well, so I didn’t have to worry about this, but other mages were different.
Not everyone had Irina’s talent for understanding and following instructions after hearing them once, so it was important to explain things in a way that was easy to understand.
‘This is difficult…’
How can I explain something I use instinctively in a way that’s easy to understand?
Personally, I think this is the most difficult task.
I struggled and pondered deeply.
For the sake of the blood mages who respect and follow me.
