Ch.452Boss Raid. (2)
by fnovelpia
And as the personnel including myself and the other two top rankers began our full-scale attack…
The Imperial fleet flagship, which had been causing us such a commotion until just moments ago, was about to experience a truly pitiful fate in real-time.
First, as our strategy to beat this thing down, we employed a tactic to immobilize it…
—
-[Let’s go in~] (Icarus)
-[<Strategic missiles disappearing somewhere through teleport.jpg>]
-[Grazie]
-[We have to pay them back exactly what they did to us lolololol]
-[It’s the Code of Hammurabi, dude]
—
As always, in most situations, we used the all-purpose solution of teleport-bamboo spears.
-KWAAANG!!!
“Enemy flagship hit by strategic missiles and remaining missiles, torpedoes, and all ammunition in the propulsion system!”
“All main engines of the target vessel have been destroyed!”
“Mm, yummy.”
We simultaneously shoved 12 strategic missiles (plus various other projectiles) the size of medium cruisers right into those small, vulnerable engine nozzle holes.
That damned ship never got to show off its boasted “Pirate Union-class mobility” even once in this battle, and ended up completely immobilized.
But our additional attack strategy didn’t end there.
—
-[Move the defensive line of ships in front slightly to the side] (Icarus)
-[Going in with Ouroboros overcharge concentrated fire with full superhuman buffs] (Icarus)
-[Oh]
-[Just hearing the name makes my heart pound]
-[OK OK]
-[Now carefully pull back from here]
—
After loading Pashtra and Dornia onto the Ouroboros.
We brought in the ships carrying Berial and Griyanar, and with the Ouroboros under quadruple buffs, we unleashed a 140% overcharged concentrated barrage.
Thanks to the “very detailed” firing control of the Brawler-class and Khabarovsk-class, the already high hit rate boosted by Berial’s power increased even further.
We could see the shots extending with perfect accuracy toward the flagship that had become completely immobilized.
Of course, no matter how elaborate our preparation process was, since the Imperial flagship had extremely vicious multiple barriers.
When the flagship, judging evasion impossible, activated its barriers, the Ouroboros’ barrage was blocked…
-KWAAAANG!!
“Ouroboros’ barrage has hit!”
“Enemy flagship’s barrier loss rate, 15%!”
“Barrier is dissipating.”
“As expected, it can’t maintain it for long.”
As the gallery post had previously informed us, the flagship’s barrier function couldn’t be maintained for very long.
At the same time, its damn multiple barriers entered a long cooldown period.
As soon as I heard that the barrier was dissipating, I immediately gave orders to our allies through the chat window.
—
-[GO GO GO NOW] (Icarus)
-[Engine expansion opened, ankle broken, and now the barrier’s on cooldown] (Icarus)
-[Oh]
-[Expansion, now that’s something that gets me excited]
-[Is this really the time for that?]
-[GO GO]
-[We need to charge now to avoid getting hit by that damn wide-area barrage]
—
And at my words, the waiting users began their rush attack, with Raksha’s mobile unit bypassing the front line to perform a flanking maneuver.
Most of the enemy escort fleet, which had gathered to protect the suddenly immobilized flagship, was urgently moving to the front line…
After timing it carefully, just as the enemy flagship was about to come off its “function use cooldown”…
Since Kraken No. 1 had used its teleport to launch strategic missiles, we used Kraken No. 2’s teleport to move a large number of carrier-based aircraft near the damn flagship to conduct an air raid.
Of course, we decided to use the carrier-based attack group from Monalisa’s Anomalocaris instead of my Kraken’s aircraft.
—
-[Leave the teleport attack group to me] (Monalisa)
-[I’ve got units with carrier aircraft attack buffs on my Anomalocaris, so they’ll be stronger than yours] (Monalisa)
-[Good] (Icarus)
—
Since Monalisa showed such confidence with her “I’m better” attitude, I trusted her and let her go all in.
And those carrier-based aircraft deployed via teleport fought much more impressively than I had expected.
“The first attack group that assaulted the enemy flagship via teleport is currently conducting air raids against the flagship and surrounding escort fleet.”
“Real-time shoot-down rate, 0.03%!”
“Oh… they’re holding up better than expected.”
As they thoroughly fulfilled the purpose of the teleported aircraft—”to hold out for a long time while preventing the flagship and other escort vessels from doing anything else”—
The carrier-owning users including myself nodded in approval, saying this was how carrier trademark users should perform, and immediately decided to launch all remaining aircraft.
—
-[Launch all carrier aircraft GO GO GO]
-[Since their aircraft are all focused on the flagship, we need to strike before the aircraft launch cooldown comes up again]
-[Let’s go quickly while my aircraft are holding out] (Monalisa)
-[Heung]
—
And in this way, including my Krakens.
While a massive swarm of aircraft from various large aircraft carriers, light carriers, aviation battleships, and aviation cruisers formed the second attack group and flew like a swarm of bees.
Our forward fleet friends were unleashing ferocious advancing fire against the enemy fleet trying to form a defensive line.
The problem was that normally, 90% of such fire would have been wasted, flying off somewhere into space.
-“Hit, hit!”
-“Allied fleet hit rate, approximately 40%!”
“That’s four times the usual.”
“Hmm.”
Now all the users here included “firing control” ships like my Brawler-class.
And since most of the enemy fleet had already been detected, we were making steady progress, picking off the enemy fleet trying to maintain a defensive line one by one from extreme range.
Of course, such smoothness was short-lived.
—
-[Ah we’re screwed] (Monalisa)
-[Please don’t say such bad things]
-[Big trouble] (Monalisa)
-[As the defense line collapsed, the retreating enemy ships clustered together, and my teleported aircraft were completely wiped out lol] (Monalisa)
-[Ah]
-[They fled because we beat them too effectively]
—
As is often the case in life, even perfect plans don’t always translate perfectly to reality.
Because the battleship fleet users fought “better” than expected, the enemy escort fleet was defeated and retreated, gathering near the flagship.
Due to the excessive anti-air pressure this created, Monalisa’s first attack group, which had been deployed as a distraction, was completely annihilated.
Shortly after.
-KWAAAAAAANG!!!
—
-[HUAAANG]
-[Damn they must be really pissed, firing regardless of whether allies are there or not]
-[KYAAAAK my dreadnought!]
—
It was only natural that the flagship’s concentrated fire would target the allied users who had smashed the escort fleet and were advancing.
Of course, as the battleship fleet “fought too well,” they paid a heavy price, but in doing so, they extended the flagship’s function use cooldown again.
While the battleship fleet was taking a beating and buying time…
—
-[Second attack group of carrier aircraft arriving]
-[Everyone GO GO GO]
-[Target anti-air cruisers and destroyers first, fighters keep the flagship in check and respond to any carrier aircraft that might appear] (Monalisa)
-[Don’t target battleships or heavy battleships, carrier aircraft damage won’t penetrate well] (Icarus)
-[Got it]
—
The approximately 300,000 aircraft that had been launched in advance finally reached the enemy fleet and were able to unleash a massive air raid.
