After subduing those pranksters.

The 100 imposing users, including myself and two other rankers, calmed down after the brief confusion.

    —————————————–

    —————————————–

    -[Let’s gooooooo]

    -[Let’s gooooooo]

    -[Hutos-to!]

    -[L E T S G O]

    -[DGDGDGDGDGDGDG]

-[Oooh I’m nervous about this raid]

-[Be ready to break fleet formation at any time]

-[We need to avoid getting caught in the Ancient Empire flagship’s area bombardment]

    —————————————–

After thoroughly discussing with the users before starting the battle.

We determined that bunching up against that damned Ancient Empire flagship could get us wiped out by area weapons.

    —————————————–

    -[Everyone remember]

    -[Maintain front line defense thoroughly]

-[When flagship bombardment comes, don’t try to maintain defense, just get out]

-[Better to let the defense line break and fight the escort fleet than get hit by the flagship’s special attack]

-[Wouldn’t we be screwed if the defense line breaks?]

-[Breaking the defense line means fighting enemy ships in real-time, but taking area bombardment damage hurts more]

    -[Huh]

    —————————————–

Users with large and beautiful rear support vessels or carriers like mine or Monalisa’s were positioned at the rear.

Most users formed a flexible front line with battleships, heavy battleships, and dreadnoughts.

And a small number of “mobile warfare” meta users including Raksha would move within the front lines for “mobile defense.”

With this plan, the users showed remarkable confidence before the boss raid that would begin in a few seconds.

    ==========

Of course, the moment the battle started.

    -KWAAANG!!!!

    -PUNG!

    —————————————–

    -[Ah shit my Odin-class!!!]

    -[Odin always gets blown up]

-[No, Odin is still alive, Odin’s revival is still possible!]

-[We don’t consider Odin becoming O/din as “still alive”]

    —————————————–

An unknown user’s Odin-class heavy battleship at the center of the front line got exposed to enemy fire and split in two.

Another user who was steadily pushing forward with three Bayern-class ships and a Griffin-class heavy battleship…

Had one Bayern-class reduced to –yern-class after taking concentrated fire from the imperial flagship’s main guns.

Everyone was struggling against the unexpectedly powerful firepower.

And the same was true for rear area users including myself.

    -ZIIING…BABABABANG!

    -BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

“Commander, enemy carrier aircraft have teleported en masse to coordinates 36, 16, 22!”

“Ugh, now that I’m experiencing it myself, it’s really infuriating.”

    “All ships, commence anti-air fire!”

    —————————————–

-[Is this that teleport assault thing or whatever?]

-[<Armor-piercing shell stuck in Anomalocaris flight deck without exploding.jpg>](Monalisa)

    -[Holy shit](Monalisa)

-[What the hell is the rear doing]

    -[I almost said that]

-[Wow 250mm and 500mm autocannons are flying everywhere]

-[The ultimate brain fart, how can 500mm be an autocannon]

-[Well, the ships are at least hundreds of km in size]

-[With brain fart sizes like that, weapons flying at us would be missiles with km-diameter, could you block those with mere 100mm guns? lol]

-[<Scene of watching from the “bridge” as carrier aircraft swarm in and massive missiles from them get intercepted.jpg>]

-[Now is not the time for such talk!]

    —————————————–

Like the Ancient Empire flagship whose parents were already dead.

It was using special attacks with functions from each of the four factions, just as I’d seen in the gallery.

Like the carrier aircraft surprise assault using “Kraken” teleportation that I was experiencing now to paralyze the rear fleet.

    —————————————–

-[Dodge it!!!! Breath!!!! To the corner!!!!]

    -[Ah]

-[<One cruiser being pulverized by the imperial flagship’s main gun attack.jpg>]

    -[What are you doing]

    -[My mistake]

    —————————————–

With surprise attacks targeting both front and rear causing confusion, it would then pick us off one by one with its powerful bombardment, shaking the users’ mental state.

When Raksha took his ships along with a few mobile warfare meta users to flank…

    —————————————–

    -[OK we’ve flanked]

-[Baited the escort fleet, they’re rushing toward the intentional gap in our defense line, good]

    -[Let’s gooo]

-[Wait why are small ships coming out from inside the vessel?]

-[We’re screwed, the barrier is tougher than expected, what’s supposed to be its weakness?]

    -[Oh shit wait]

    -[Crazy]

    —————————————–

It created multiple Xenovia-style barriers, completely ignoring the concentrated fire from our flanking force.

At the same time, 50-60 destroyers launched from inside the massive hull like carrier aircraft, covering for the insufficient number of escort ships.

    —————————————–

    -[Let’s pull back for now](Raksha)

-[If we go further we’ll get hit by the main guns with no retreat path]

    -[Damn it]

-[But how do we escape? Those small ships are faster than us]

-[Just sacrifice one fast battleship each, we need to save the rest of the fleet while they’re busy destroying that](Raksha)

    -[Ah I see]

-[Or one person could sacrifice themselves]

-[Better than everyone throwing away ships, I’ll go]

    -[What]

    —————————————–

With the enemy fleet proving stronger than expected, one user sacrificed most of their fleet to buy time for the others to escape.

The situation was getting quite intense in various ways.

And as all this was being broadcast live to the gallery…

    —————————————–

Title: Damn, the Ancient Empire flagship is more vicious than expected?

    Author: Anonymous

Content: [Screenshot of a user’s Griffin-class heavy battleship armor plate melting from the Ancient Empire flagship’s attack.jpg]

With firepower like that, while each individual function isn’t particularly outstanding compared to the four factions,

The problem is it can utilize all four specialized functions, instantly responding to whatever approach users take

The only weakness, as someone mentioned before, is that it can’t use all these functions simultaneously

But damn, it’s not like our game fleets can conduct combat operations in seconds

And since it does have escort ships, unlike expected, even rankers are finding it hard to exploit the gaps between functions

It could probably even use Pirate Union-style mobile warfare, but that hasn’t even shown up yet

    This is truly horrifying

    Comments:

    -[It’s terrible incarnate]

-[The difficulty setting seems a bit off]

-[Honestly they should have increased the cooldown after using those functions]

    -˪[This is correct]

    —————————————–

Gallery users watching the situation were howling about how incredibly vicious the Ancient Empire flagship was.

But unlike the gallery users’ fuss, the users gathered here including myself, Raksha, and Monalisa…

    —————————————–

    -[OK I get it now](Raksha)

-[Looks like we just need to beat it down properly](Raksha)

    -[Yep](Icarus)

-[Now we know the carrier aircraft numbers and what ships are hidden inside](Monalisa)

-[Let’s take away its mobility first before it can move directly, then gang up on it](Monalisa)

    -[OK](Icarus)

-[Damn, with no advance team it was a pain to figure this out]

-[If ships didn’t regenerate, I would’ve seriously grabbed everyone by the collar]

    —————————————–

Only after taking acceptable levels of damage and racking our brains did we manage to assess the capabilities of that damned imperial flagship.

Based on what we learned about its forces, we began to implement our proper strategy in earnest.
