Ch.448Big Ship, Bigger Ship. (3)

Anyway, did the sincere persuasion from those veteran players work?
The “Super Dreadnought Hunters” who had been explosively increasing in the gallery suddenly began to disappear.
But as these hunters(?) vanished, one remaining concern was left in the gallery.
Now, the only(?) worry for users remained…

Title: So how should I set up my fleet?
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Description of 6 faction bosses.txt]
Yeah, I get that they’re awesome and all
But how are we supposed to counter them?
Why isn’t anyone explaining that?
Comments:
-[Well, because…]
-[Why would anyone tell you that? lolol]
-˪[Ladder pulling: ON]
-[Looking at how all the knowledgeable players are keeping their mouths shut, don’t you get it? lol]
-˪[So that’s what it was]
—————————————–
The problem was, as mentioned by those who shared the information:
Since this update came out when the world had received a death sentence as a game and was barely hanging on with life support…
More than half of the veteran players, including “returning” users like myself, didn’t know about it and could only remain silent.
Seeing this, some non-veteran users started spreading all sorts of bizarre conspiracy theories, saying “These bastards are pulling the ladder up behind them, aren’t they?”
If it had just been moderate murmuring, it might have been fine.
But the conspiracy theories grew so large that it seemed like a massive war between users would break out as soon as the event ended.
Humanity and other major clans, along with their affiliated rankers and moderators, launched large-scale suppression operations, declaring “We’re tired and don’t want war.”
And on top of that…

Title: Why worry about fleet setup?

It’s all random anyway
What if you specialize in one thing and then encounter the exact opposite type of enemy?
For example, if you set up anti-air and small ship killing capabilities to fight a Space Monster type boss
But then an Earth Federation type boss appears, you’d be nothing more than a meat shield that can’t deal damage
Conversely, if you prepare a heavy battleship setup with burst damage to take down Earth Federation or Xenovia Empire?
Then you might get toyed with by the Space Monster’s swarm tactics or the Pirate Union’s mobility warfare, so why keep asking what to do?
Let’s be honest, damn it
Aren’t you just trying to subtly shift responsibility to veteran players or other users because you don’t want to take responsibility for your own choices?
Make your own decisions, you jerks;;;
Either create a specialized fleet that you like and then pray it works
Or build an all-rounder like people use for PVP and just charge in
Or just stick with your original concept, seriously too much talk
Comments:
-[The best criticism always comes from random users lolol]
-[Kyaaaa! Master!]
-[Hey, go easy, you’ll make them cry]
-[Random Ham with the killing blow lol]
-[Mr. Random Ham, you’re the best]
-[Telling it like it is, U-CA-CO-LA]

“Kyah.”
“Sometimes people need that kind of direct, refreshing talk to come to their senses.”
Thanks to that random user’s merciless criticism,
Users like myself could feel at ease as the whiny posts asking what fleet setup to use suddenly disappeared.
And to maintain that peace of mind, I immediately closed the gallery window.
Then I too decided to reach a conclusion about how I should set up my fleet.
And that conclusion was…
“I’ve decided, Jessica.”
“About what, Commander? The event boss raid?”
“Yes. When I think about it, none of us really know anything about what’s going to happen this time.”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“So just like we did in the team battle, regardless of who ends up as our allies…”
“Regardless of who?”
“I’ll deploy regular-grade ships at the front, while keeping our main forces in the rear to provide support.”
“Heeng.”
As I mentioned before, my “main force” was primarily focused on supporting other fleets in battle.
So I decided to fight in the same way as in the team battle, supporting allies from the rear.
==========
And along with those issues.
There were other matters like controlling the madness of lunatics who shouted “I don’t care!” while posting disgusting images, lewd images, or sometimes both simultaneously.
Or dealing with someone trying to spread conspiracy theories about Humanity headquarters having a secret harem for executives in their basement(?).
As it turned out, those users were already having fun and exciting interactions with Superhumans whose friendship levels they had maxed out.
Meanwhile, the conspiracy theorist himself had friendship levels below -10 with female Superhumans.
There were also strange scenes where someone was exposed for hitting on female users and got buried in criticism.
After spending five truly busy and complicated days…
“Commander, everything is finished except for the Dreadnought repairs.”
“Really?”
“Yes, since our Kraken repair facilities aren’t fully completed yet, we sent it to the Monster Nest, and it’s getting fixed faster than expected.”
“I see…”
By now, most of the heavily damaged ships that had returned were repaired, and I heard that even the Dreadnought still under repair was almost finished.
I was lightly contemplating whether to use a “repair acceleration right” to quickly restore the ship and immediately enter the event map.
Or whether to wait leisurely for one more day before entering.
Of course, there was also the option of not participating in the raid where ships would clearly get smashed to pieces again…
Unfortunately, such an option was meaningless from the start.

<Would you like to enter the ‘All-Big-Ship Boss Raid’ event map?>
<You must participate in this event map to receive event rewards properly!>
<Y/N>
—————————————–
Since the event message clearly stated “Participate in the raid to get rewards!”
I was planning to participate in the raid regardless of whether I liked it or not, to avoid wasting all my effoooort so far.
But my deliberation was simply about “Should I go early? Or later?”
And after a short while.
When I casually opened the community gallery window.

Title: “Look, the advance party is returning!”
Author: Anonymous
Content: [A picture of severely injured and dismembered patients, with character heads crudely photoshopped on.jpg]
Ah, they look more like corpses
Comments:
-[The advance party, dead…!]
-˪[Why are you killing people who just started out? lol]
-˪[But they’re charging in without any advice, so they probably will die]
-˪[That’s fair]
-[What? Is the boss raid preparation finally done?]
-˪[I heard some clans and individuals have already entered the boss raid]
-˪[Not people who entered, but results from people who went in and came back](Author)
-˪[Ohh]

Title: The advance parties are diving in first, so I think I’ll rest a bit
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Post about ‘advance parties’ taking on the boss raid.jpg]
I think it’s better to watch the advance party’s performance and strategy before diving in
Comments:
-[But they’re called advance parties, yet each person can only do it once, so isn’t it more of a survival note than a strategy?]
-˪[That’s true;;]
-[What? The advance parties already charged in?]
-˪[Yes](Author)
-[The fun of watching~]
-[lololol]
—————————————–
Seeing other users and clans charging into the boss raid as advance parties, or posting their results,
I abandoned the idea of using an acceleration right and decided to observe the situation leisurely for a day or two.
