Ch.446Big Ship, Bigger Ship. (1)
by fnovelpia
Of course, we did lose the third battle and cowardly blew up their ships in a group attack.
“It was truly a difficult battle, but from another perspective, it was also a very valuable experience.”
“I’m glad you feel that way.”
The fleet and Superhumans that were lost in round 3 before the event started were just technically classified as sunk or dead.
In reality, they would revive with major or moderate damage.
After the battle ended and we returned to base, I saw the Kraken struggling and stuck in the base.
I also watched the main battleships getting repaired after being smashed here and there.
And seeing the Superhumans lying like mummies in the recovery room, wrapped in so many bandages, I decided to prepare for the next battle.
But unlike the previous three battles, the final “Raid Battle” was something I had no memory of.
“Commander, about preparing for the next battle.”
“You mean equipping gear?”
“Yes, what should I equip?”
“…I’m not sure.”
Even though the Superhumans would recover quickly through Griyanar’s modified recovery room (which was wriggling and alive),
It would take at least 5 days minimum for the ships to be repaired, so during this empty period,
I decided to quietly check the gallery to find out what boss might appear in the boss battle.
But when I opened the gallery, my question soon led to new questions.

Title: Finished the 3rd battle, what’s the Raid Boss enemy?

Will something like Leviathan appear?
But if something like that shows up, can just 10 users subdue it?
Humanity mobilized 150,000 users plus mercenary groups + faction delegations and base mercenaries to surround it, but it still escaped
Comments:
-[That’s true]
-[Remember that Leviathan had not only its direct escort fleet, the Leviathan Squadron, but also the Earth Defense Fleet with it]
-[Considering the Earth Defense Fleet at its prime, even 100,000 users (+extras) attacking might not guarantee victory]
-˪[Is that so]
-[This is hard to discuss in comments, I’ll make a post about it]

Title: Random thoughts about the final boss raid battle in this event.txt

Writing this because even veteran players probably don’t know this
Originally, a super-enhanced version of a normal-grade ship’s Super Dreadnought would appear, and the escort fleet below would be randomly mixed from user fleets participating in the event
But later, as the game became a mess and the number of users drastically decreased, the composition of the escort fleet became chaotic
Since we kept seeing the same players, the escort fleet lost its randomness and became predictable
And even though the boss was strengthened, by this point veteran players would each bring their own Super Dreadnoughts and attack, so there was no solution
So what did they do? They changed the raid boss to be one of six factions
And they made it so you could choose one of six factions as the escort fleet, which would then change randomly within that faction
Oh, and the maximum number of users participating in the raid battle is 100
Originally it was more, but back then the user count dropped so much there weren’t enough users for raids, so they reduced it
Comments:
-[Six?]
-[What are these six??]
-[I understand the four factions, but what are the other two?]
-[Show me what you know]

“What could the remaining one be?”
“I know, trying to solve one mystery only leads to new ones.”
But I wasn’t the only one confused about this—most users were too.
After posting that information without providing additional answers, leaving users in a state of excitement, the next day dawned.
When someone claimed they knew and posted about it, it instantly became a hot topic, which was inevitable.
Anyway, the post that appeared was an explanation about the six factions mentioned above and their bosses…

First, to be clear, these aren’t faction flagship-grade, at most they’re Super Dreadnought-grade
Interestingly, the faction concepts and boss concepts are slightly different from what people commonly think
And users can’t capture them, only destroy them, so keep that in mind
1. Pirate Union = Ultra-large high-speed Super Dreadnought focused on speed and maneuverability
You might think this is nonsense, but the original Pirate Union concept is hit-and-run with speed
It’s a Super Dreadnought but with destroyer-grade maneuverability, so when you first encounter it, it’s like seeing a UFO
The damn thing is satellite-sized because it’s a Super Dreadnought, but it maneuvers like a dragonfly
2. Space Monster = A moving nest that spews out massive numbers of carrier-based aircraft and small ships
For real
You know that Kraken belonging to the famous Icarus?
Imagine that about 10 times larger, covered in heavy armor all around
It has internal shipyards and hangars that constantly produce carrier-based aircraft and small ships for mass attacks
Of course it has a teleport system, so if you just recklessly charge in, your ships will be torn apart by aircraft coming through teleports
3. Xenovia Empire = Tank-type with barriers stacked so thick it can withstand fleet bombardment
It feels like a siege battle
Its firepower and maneuverability are the worst among the six factions, but its barriers are extremely thick and numerous, making it incredibly frustrating for user fleets to beat through them to reach the flagship and escort fleet inside
You have to completely demolish all the barriers before you can hit the enemy, but they safely attack our fleet from inside the barrier, which is infuriating
4. Earth Federation (now Humanity) = Area-of-effect annihilation type that spreads massive firepower
This one and the Xenovia Empire seem to have switched concepts, since originally Earth Federation-style ultra-large ships prioritized armor
Maybe because it was updated after the Ouroboros-class appeared, but it has decent armor and insane firepower
Both its range and damage are crazy, so you need to accumulate damage like a sniper while avoiding getting hit
Oh, and if user fleets gather in a certain area above a certain number, it fires its ultra-large main gun from the bow to wipe them out
Ships below heavy cruiser class just melt without fleet barriers, and even larger ships take massive damage, so be careful
And what are the last two?
5. Normal-grade Super Dreadnought (Enhanced)
It’s a larger, overall enhanced version of the normal-grade Super Dreadnought that users can obtain
Looking at just the ship, it’s the weakest of the six factions
But its escort fleet appears 1.5 times larger than other factions
Actually, it’s 1.7 times larger, and for some reason, its ship detection range is longer than the above four factions
6. Ancient Empire = Flagship
The grand final faction, but the probability is so low that even I haven’t seen it, so I don’t know much
But from what I’ve heard, it’s just really powerful
They say it’s like a hexagon-level fusion of the four major factions, so that’s all for now
Comments:
-[Ooooh]
-[Thanks for the explanation]
-[Detailed wall of text explanation deserves an upvote]
-[Wait a minute, Ancient Empire flagship?]
-˪[That’s super strong, isn’t it?]
-˪[How strong is it then](Author)
-˪[It’s not faction flagship-grade, but it slaps Super Dreadnoughts across the face and punches them in the solar plexus?]
-˪[Holy shit]

The stories about bosses with concepts subtly and vaguely different from the existing factions were interesting enough.
But when “Ancient Empire’s Flagship” appeared at the end, not just me but other users as well,
Even the veteran players who had been fermenting for so long that no one knew if they were alive or dead, crawled out and started making a fuss, wailing “Hoeeeeeng.”
