In a way, this was quite predictable.

    What I had thought of, other users would naturally think of too…

    I hurriedly opened the trading market and, sure enough…

    ‘Well, damn.’

    It seemed other users had already snatched up everything from the trading market, with supplies completely depleted.

    Even the remaining items were caught in bidding wars, with stubborn users fighting over them out of pride.

    Or there were just endless auction and trade requests like this.

    Since everything was such a mess, I quietly closed the trading market and opened the gallery to further assess the situation.

    As soon as I ran a search in the gallery, I discovered that the current situation was due to another large-scale hoarding operation.

    And sure enough, it’s fucking hoarding again

    Title: These hoarding bastards are reselling now FFS

    Damn resellers

    Die FFS

    At this rate, I’d have to pay double to these resellers to get the ships needed for the event.

    I realized I desperately needed some kind of “new approach” at this point.

    ==========

    Fortunately, that “new approach” emerged sooner than expected.

    One of the users docked at Tannhäuser requested a chat with me, and when I accepted…

    —————————————–

    <Icarus-Perseus Chat>

    -[Hey](Perseus)

    -[?](Icarus)

    -[Do you need a fire control electronic warfare cruiser?]

    -[I got three ‘Nashorn’-class ships from my recent gacha pulls, so I’m keeping one and looking to sell the other two](Perseus)

    -[Oh, sounds good](Icarus)

    —————————————–

    A user suddenly appeared claiming they’d pulled three S-class ships and wanted to trade directly with me instead of using the trading market.

    Of course, I responded positively to such a trade, but…

    The problem came shortly after.

    —————————————–

    <Icarus-Perseus Chat>

    -[What were you thinking of trading?]

    -[I don’t really have any ships to offer you](Icarus)

    -[Nah]

    -[The ships are fine, I’m looking to stockpile resources, so give me 100 resource boxes]

    -[Unopened ones](Perseus)

    -[Ah](Icarus)

    —————————————–

    The trade they wanted was none other than unopened resource boxes.

    Unfortunately, I currently had far fewer resource boxes than what they were asking for.

    “Jessica, why do we have so few resource boxes?”

    “You used most of them to call in additional mercenary units to deal with those people you called the ‘Yellow Turbans,’ Commander.”

    “I see.”

    Since I’d used up most of the resource boxes stored at the base to deal with the Yellow Turbans…

    “Then I’ll have to roll some gacha.”

    “Huh?”

    So I decided to roll the gacha with my saved currency to get the 100 resource boxes that Perseus requested.

    Unlike other users, I wasn’t trying to pull ships or superhumans.

    Seeing me about to roll gacha just for resource boxes—typically considered “junk” pulls—Jessica drooped her rabbit ears and shoulders with a sad expression.

    “How did you come to use the ‘Dimensional Causality Fixation’ meant for ships and superhumans just to get mere resource boxes, Commander?”

    “…”

    “Sob.”

    “I wonder that myself.”

    Of course, I felt the same way deep down.

    But I’d already endured too many hardships and pains, and that ‘9,980’ incident had strengthened my mental fortitude too much.

    ‘This is what enlightenment feels like, not anything else.’

    With a truly enlightened feeling, I happily decided to roll the gacha machine to welcome 150 resource boxes.

    ==========

    But when I actually rolled the gacha…

    “…Huh?”

    “Whaa.”

    Not only did an electronic warfare cruiser with fire control capabilities pop out (though lower ranked than what I was trying to trade for), but there wasn’t a single resource box to be found—just equipment boxes sprouting up like weeds.

    It made me think the game was playing tricks on me again in a different way.

    But that thought didn’t last long.

    When I saw the completely unexpected ‘Superhuman’—a hibernating one I’d forgotten about for a while—appear,

    I felt my brain short-circuit for a moment, wondering what was happening.

    But that didn’t last long either.

    -Whirr…clank!

    “Oh my… how long has it been since we’ve seen this, Commander!”

    As the base had been upgraded, the hibernation chamber had been relocated right next to the gacha machine, and its door opened.

    From inside emerged a “small-chested, honey-thighed beauty”—quite rare in our base…

    I threw off the nightmare of ‘9,980’ and decided to show my intense delight at the ‘Dornia’ who had appeared before me.
