Ch.429[Chapter 429] 5-Star Evaluation
by fnovelpia
“No, I’m telling you to try a little more? You just don’t know the fun part yet.”
Sir Dominic played a few rounds of Heroes of Legend with Lady Alice, but encountered a major problem.
Simply put, Heroes of Legend wasn’t particularly entertaining for Sir Dominic.
“I suppose it might be because the strategic elements are quite strong.”
Sir Dominic said this while firmly declining, but Lady Alice continued to tempt him.
“That’s just because you’re only playing support! Try fighting in the top lane. That would suit Sir Dominic quite well.”
“But that’s where you go, my lady.”
“Ugh, that’s…!”
Lady Alice told Sir Dominic not to just play support and try other lanes, but there was no way the curious Sir Dominic hadn’t already tried them.
It’s just that support suited Sir Dominic’s personality better.
As Lady Alice suggested, the top lane might have been more suited to Sir Dominic’s aptitude, but he never even glanced at it.
That’s because Lady Alice always locked in her pick for that lane first, so he never had a chance to try it.
“There’s nothing stranger than overlapping lanes when playing together.”
“That’s true. It’s true, but…!”
Lady Alice struck the desk with the computer in frustration.
She couldn’t come up with any clear solution to make Sir Dominic interested in Heroes of Legend.
Eventually, Lady Alice asked Sir Dominica for help.
“Sir Dominica! Try to persuade Sir Dominic! You adapted well to Heroes of Legend!”
“That’s because I go mid lane. It’s a more manageable lane, unlike support.”
Sir Dominica remarked that it was game addiction, then picked up Dominia and fed her Paralant-style stew.
Dominia seemed to have similar tastes to Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica, as she looked very satisfied eating the stew.
“Babu.”
“…? Did you just call me stupid?”
“She probably means she’s full.”
Dominia expressed her satisfaction by puffing up her soft cheeks, indicating her fullness.
There was a slight mishap during this time, but it passed without incident.
“How peaceful.”
Sir Dominic nodded as he observed the situation.
However, despite his bright words, Sir Dominic’s face wasn’t particularly cheerful.
“In situations like this, problems always seem to arise…”
From experience, Sir Dominic had learned that whenever things were peaceful, something problematic would occur.
Perhaps that’s why?
Sir Dominic couldn’t enjoy the peace within the peacefulness.
Ding-dong.
“Hmm.”
See there.
Just when things were peaceful, someone rang the doorbell.
Sir Dominic said he actually felt more at ease when something happened like this, then got up and headed to the entrance.
When he opened the front door, there was the familiar angel, the Heaven Delivery courier.
“Nice to see you again. I feel like I’ve become Sir Dominic’s dedicated courier.”
The angel said, adjusting the hat on their head.
“Come to think of it, I haven’t ordered anything, so I wonder what brings you here so often.”
“That’s true.”
The courier said this while handing Sir Dominic a letter.
It was a platinum letter glowing orange, and Sir Dominic wondered if even letters needed to be so flashy these days.
“Please sign here.”
At the angel’s words, Sir Dominic signed the recipient line and saw the angel off.
Then he immediately opened the platinum letter right there.
By now, he was starting to get excited about what might happen.
However, Sir Dominic was soon disappointed after reading the letter’s contents.
The content of the letter had nothing to do with any incident.
The content was quite ordinary.
[Sir Dominic has become a candidate for promotion to 5-tier in this Tier Evaluation.]
From this single sentence, Sir Dominic could tell it was from the Executive branch.
Sir Dominic was momentarily disappointed that it wasn’t about an incident, but soon realized this was actually good news.
He remembered what he had heard from the Tanker Union before.
‘There are no 5-tier tankers yet.’
‘That’s why Sir Dominic is the hope of tankers.’
“Hmm.”
Sir Dominic nodded as he remembered those words.
For Sir Dominic had reached uncharted territory from the perspective of tankers.
“I suppose I should inform the Tanker Union about this.”
Sir Dominic said this as he folded the letter again.
After telling Sir Dominica, Lady Alice, and Dominia about this, he headed to the Tanker Union clan headquarters.
…
“Finally found you, Dominia!”
“Ugh. This doesn’t look good.”
“Maybe we should have turned left back there.”
Future Dominia and Minerva were cornered in a dead-end alley after being persistently pursued by Time Police Merry.
It had been a days-long chase, and describing how much chaos the Time Police caused would fill about seven books, but we won’t go into that here.
Then there’s something strange here.
With Time Police running around in such disarray, why is Gachaland so quiet?
The reason was quite simple and disappointing.
Gachaland was always this noisy.
In fact, Gachaland was currently holding a “Return to the Future” event.
So whatever happened, people just assumed it was part of the event.
Anyway, Time Police Merry managed to corner Dominia and Minerva in a dead-end alley with the subtle cooperation and assistance of citizens.
“There’s nowhere to run now, Dominia. Just admit your crime and accept the warrant.”
“I’m telling you, I didn’t do it!”
“What exactly is this crime anyway?!”
The dead-end alley became chaotic.
Merry, with brown hair and wearing a blue police uniform, shouting for them to admit the crime.
Dominia insisting on her innocence.
And Minerva, who had no idea what was going on.
“So that’s how you want to play it?”
“I’m telling you, I’m innocent.”
“Would someone please explain what crime we’re talking about?!”
The atmosphere grew increasingly tense.
“In that case, I have no choice but to use force.”
Merry pulled out a shotgun from her back.
The Sir Dominic keychains attached to the shotgun rattled, intensifying the atmosphere.
“So that’s how YOU want to play it.”
Dominia also drew a pistol from the holster at her waist.
“Oh, given the atmosphere, I should draw mine too, right?”
Minerva, reading the situation, pulled out dual pistols.
A tension worthy of a Western film began to fill the dead-end alley.
A tumbleweed blew between the three of them.
And just as their fingers were about to pull the triggers—
“STOP!”
“!”
Merry was startled by the voice behind her, turned around, and accidentally fired her shotgun.
It was a truly surprise attack, but the person who appeared behind Merry successfully deflected all the bullets by swinging the halberd in their hand.
It was an eye-popping feat.
“Everyone lower your guns.”
“…! Uncle!”
“Stop. Lower your guns first.”
Dominia called the person who appeared behind Merry “uncle.”
The person who appeared behind Merry was a large man wearing a yaksha mask and wielding a halberd, and as you all know, he was Don Kageyasha.
“Uncle…!”
But Dominia wasn’t the only one calling him uncle.
Merry was also calling Don Kageyasha uncle.
What was going on here?
Minerva put away her dual pistols and watched the suddenly intriguing situation unfold.
…
Sir Dominic headed to the Tanker Union office through the alleyways.
Although the Tanker Union might have already been notified, Sir Dominic felt he should inform them about his 5-tier evaluation notice.
“Welcome to the Tanker Union… Sir Dominic?”
“Ah, Sir Pandemonia.”
Sir Dominic greeted Sir Pandemonia, who was at the counter today as well.
“It feels like it’s been a while, Sir Dominic.”
“Indeed. I believe this is the first time since we last met.”
Sir Dominic and Pandemonia chatted briefly before getting to the main point.
“So, what brings you to the Tanker Union…?”
“Oh, nothing special.”
Sir Dominic told Pandemonia, as if it really wasn’t a big deal, that he had become a candidate for 5-tier promotion.
“I’ve been selected for the 5-tier promotion evaluation.”
“…What?”
Pandemonia asked Sir Dominic again, as if they had misheard something.
Sir Dominic shrugged and repeated what he had just said.
“I mean, I’ve been selected for the 5-tier promotion evaluation.”
Pandemonia had a blank expression at those words.
They couldn’t immediately comprehend what Sir Dominic had said.
Sir Dominic remained silent for a moment to give Pandemonia enough time to understand.
And soon, Pandemonia realized what Sir Dominic meant and uttered a single word that contained many implications.
“…Eh?”
A single word that truly contained many implications.
