Ch.414[Episode 414] The Other World, District 12

“Success!”
Despite being quite far away, the explosion was so massive that it made the battleship stagger.
The explosion completely engulfed Sir Dominic’s battleship.
The Resistance admiral clenched his fist in delight as the enormous explosion unfolded before his eyes.
Just as he had planned, they had successfully sniped the “Glory of Feralant.”
With the Glory of Feralant shot down, their remaining hope had vanished.
From the Resistance’s perspective, only ragtag ships remained, and they could sweep up military achievements like chips on a casino table.
“Hahahahaha! …Huh?”
The admiral laughed heartily, celebrating his victory prematurely.
It was understandable since the enemy’s only plan for victory had disappeared.
However, the Resistance admiral had popped the champagne too early.
“W-what is this…?”
The Resistance admiral stared at the explosion site with his eyes nearly popping out.
The explosion was gradually subsiding as if it had reached its peak, and through the remnants of the blast, the ram of the Glory of Feralant emerged.
“H-how can it still move after taking such a powerful hit?”
The Resistance admiral muttered as if his soul had left his body.
Now the Glory of Feralant was showing its head from within the explosion.
As the terrifying hull with its eye pattern emerged, unrest was already spreading among the Resistance forces.
And finally, when the “completely unscathed” ship fully emerged through the explosion, the Resistance forces stared blankly at the Glory of Feralant, forgetting they needed to continue their attack.
“…Argh! Is the enemy battleship some kind of monster?”
Only the admiral’s irritated remark represented the current mood of the Resistance.
…
Sir Dominic’s battleship, the Glory of Feralant, was still advancing forward.
“The explosion was big, but it wasn’t much.”
Sir Dominic said with a sigh of relief.
Sir Dominic had been surprised by the missile that had suddenly flown in—it was as large as a ship.
Not only was it huge, but it was also an attack that came too suddenly.
Before Sir Dominic could prepare, the missile had struck the Glory of Feralant.
However, the Glory of Feralant was merely singed by the explosion, and overall, it remained completely intact without a scratch.
In fact, in terms of damage, the time when Sir Dominic first rammed and destroyed a battleship when he was summoned here had caused more damage.
Why was such a massive, incredibly powerful missile stopped by just Sir Dominic’s battleship?
It was because of how the interplanetary ballistic missile’s damage was calculated.
The interplanetary ballistic missile had two types of damage: penetration and explosion.
In other words, according to its settings, it was supposed to penetrate the enemy and explode inside.
Since the damage type was divided into two, the damage calculation was bizarre—it reduced the opponent’s defense through penetration damage and then inflicted explosion damage.
The higher the penetration damage received, the lower the opponent’s defense would become, which is why Sir Dominic was able to easily block this missile.
He basically received 15% less damage, and due to his [Tanker] trait, he got additional damage reduction.
As a result, when the initial penetration damage was pathetically low, the defense wasn’t significantly reduced, and the explosion damage couldn’t cause much harm either.
Then why was the explosion so large?
Almost like an ammunition or oil explosion?
It was because of Sir Dominic’s special skill [Cinematic].
[Cinematic] determined that the bigger the explosion, the “cooler” Sir Dominic would look when he reappeared, so it deliberately increased only the size of the explosion.
This was enough to deceive the Resistance admiral and make him lose motivation, so how must it have appeared to others?
“Hmm.”
Sir Dominic stroked his chin as he surveyed the battlefield.
The 150 battleships led by Sir Dominic still hadn’t stopped advancing, and the enemies were frozen in shock at this surprising situation.
“If it was about drawing attention, I’d say it was quite successful.”
Sir Dominic nodded as he said this.
Yes.
Although the narrative has been too focused on Sir Dominic’s perspective, this operation was being carried out simultaneously from the front and back of the enemy.
The fleet that went around to the back was acting so stealthily that it barely appeared in the narrative, but they were approaching the enemy territory just as quickly as Sir Dominic.
…
Behind the Resistance planet, a detachment of 150 ships.
“It should be safe to authorize communications here.”
When the commander in charge of these 150 ships said this, static could be heard throughout the communication network.
[“Wow, this is real infiltration action.”]
[“I thought I was going to die of boredom.”]
Most were either making strange noises as they stretched their stiff bodies from too much tension, sighing and feeling excited about this unknown thrill, or chatting about how interesting this area was.
“Quiet, quiet!”
As the communications became too noisy, the commander in charge silenced the network.
“We’re going to execute the operation now. The operation is exactly what’s stated in the mission objectives. Destroy the enemy command center or destroy the mystery.”
After saying this, the commander seemed to have a dry throat and asked for understanding as he drank half a cup of water.
“Well, we don’t really know each other anyway, so let’s just do what we want. I’m planning to go take out the command center. So if you think like me, follow me, and if not, head toward the mystery. Okay?”
The commander in charge said this and was the first to drive his battleship toward the enemy command center.
The allied command center had just said that most of the forces were deployed at the front, so the Resistance planet was practically empty.
In other words, just going there and striking once would earn military achievements.
More achievements. Even more achievements.
That ultimately meant that the rewards would be greater when they cleared this area.
That’s why the commander in charge, who had been enjoying command bonuses until now, immediately rushed out to earn more achievements for greater rewards.
Most commanders found the commander-in-chief’s behavior absurd, but some understood what he was thinking through his actions and hurriedly followed him, each flying toward their own targets.
Command center or mystery.
All Resistance fleets were at the front, so the current situation was literally a perfect home invasion.
…
[The Resistance command center is under attack!]
[The Resistance mystery, the interplanetary ballistic missile, is under attack!]
Suddenly, system messages rang out on the battlefield.
The commanders on Sir Dominic’s side brightened at these system messages.
“The operation is working properly.”
Sir Dominic said this and unconsciously pressed a button.
Then, a fully charged energy cannon fired toward the enemy lines again.
The enemies had long lost their motivation, but they continued their attacks at least for appearance’s sake.
And for Sir Dominic, the fact that they were still attacking meant they had no intention of surrendering, so he had no hesitation in attacking.
After several tens of seconds or minutes of additional engagement, a new message appeared before Sir Dominic’s eyes.
[The Resistance command center has been 35% destroyed!]
[The interplanetary ballistic missile factory has been destroyed! No more interplanetary ballistic missiles can be produced! Now destroy the launch pads and storage facilities!]
“It looks like it will end soon.”
Sir Dominic said this and tilted his head.
Even though they were holding all the enemies at the front, it was quite a fast pace.
As Sir Dominic predicted, the destruction of targets accelerated.
[The Resistance command center has been 69% destroyed!]
[The interplanetary ballistic missile storage has been destroyed! The enemies are desperately trying to launch the last missile from the remaining launch pad!]
“These little system messages are quite interesting.”
Sir Dominic enjoyed the minor system messages that he hadn’t noticed much when he was directly engaged in combat.
When fighting directly, he had to focus entirely on the battlefield and himself, so he rarely had the opportunity to see system messages in such detail.
[An interplanetary ballistic missile has been launched! According to trajectory calculations from the allied command center, the target is the warp gate! The target is the warp gate!]
“Hmm.”
Sir Dominic slightly turned his head to see where the warp gate was.
The warp gate was to the left rear from the Glory of Feralant’s position, and at this rate, the interplanetary ballistic missile seemed like it would pass right by the Glory of Feralant and head straight for the warp gate.
“That can’t happen.”
Sir Dominic manipulated the Glory of Feralant to slightly change its direction.
Then the missile’s trajectory soon changed to hit the Glory of Feralant.
[The Resistance command center has been 95% destroyed!]
[The interplanetary ballistic missile launch pad has been destroyed! Beware of the last missile!]
Sir Dominic prepared for the imminent impact as he saw the messages about targets with just one last bite left.
Soon the Glory of Feralant and the interplanetary ballistic missile would collide.
As Sir Dominic expected, the interplanetary ballistic missile rushed toward the side of the Glory of Feralant and then exploded.
The Glory of Feralant was once again engulfed in an explosion.
