Until now, the Earth Defense Fleet had been holed up exclusively within Earth’s territory, stubbornly maintaining a purely defensive stance.

And when news broke that the Leviathan-class—the flagship of that fleet and the supreme flagship of the Earth Federation, as well as the largest “single vessel” in the game—was on the move…

Within the Humanity clan, suspicions were exploding about what exactly was happening.

    <Humanity Executive Chat Room>

<Notice: Current top priority is connecting each occupied stronghold and user territory with external fleets>

-[Wait, didn’t we pull aggro from the Leviathan?]

    -[What’s the point of aggro?]

    -[Ah]

    -[Is this for real?]

    -[Yeah, it’s real]

Of course, the suspicion didn’t last long.

This news essentially meant that the aggro from the Earth Federation’s main force had been reset.

Suspicion was quickly replaced by accusations that users who were supposed to keep poking at the fleet to prevent the Earth Defense Fleet from moving had failed to do their job.

Some even suggested that since things had come to this, they should target Earth itself—the “capital”—while the Earth Defense Fleet was away.

    But…

    <Humanity Executive Chat Room>

<Notice: Leviathan is on the move, everyone prepare to respond>

    -[Let’s go for Earth!]

    -[This is actually worse](Jegal Yang)

    -[Why?]

-[Remember those Northwest Border Defense Fleets that Icarus decimated a few days ago?](Jegal Yang)

    -[Yeah]

-[Those fleets from the northwest and northern outskirts got hammered from both sides and retreated, and even the Western Border Defense Fleet escaped to Earth through emergency warp](Jegal Yang)

    -[What… did you say?]

-[So even without the Earth Defense Fleet, there’s enough force to defend Earth](Jegal Yang)

-[We’re screwed, elimination is impossible](Jegal Yang)

    -[Oh shit]

Not only the Border Defense Fleets that Humanity had smashed through while breaking the defensive line…

But even the Western Defense Fleet, which they had deliberately left alone to check the Loki clan, had contrary to their plans all fled to Earth.

As a result, Earth’s defenses had become rock solid, and the Earth Defense Fleet no longer needed to be tied down to defense.

Thanks to this newfound flexibility, the Earth Defense Fleet was now launching an all-out assault with nothing to lose.

This situation began spreading in all directions instantly through the Gallery.

I was in the middle of sipping my coffee when I heard the news about the Leviathan, and realized that Humanity had been thoroughly played by Loki.

“Ha! Humanity is going to be grinding their teeth at Loki when this war ends.”

    “Why is that, Commander?”

As Jessica made a gesture and expression that said “What do you mean?” beside me, I decided to give her a clean and simple answer.

“Well, the Loki clan was originally attacking the west to check Humanity, right?”

    “Yes, that’s right.”

“But in the process, they clashed with the Western Border Defense Fleet, leaving them in a pretty bad state.”

    “Hmm… that’s right?”

Seeing Jessica affirm my words, I first gave her a brief summary explanation as I always did.

“But it turns out this was all Loki clan’s mischief.”

    “What?”

“To put it simply, they were the ones who filled up the Border Defense Fleet’s aggro threshold.”

I decided to explain by posting on the Gallery.

Title: Hey, this was Loki clan’s plan from the beginning

So initially the Loki clan was blocked by the Western Defense Fleet and couldn’t check Humanity, right?

But because of that, the Western Defense Fleet’s vigilance skyrocketed, which means their aggro threshold would have risen tremendously too.

You might wonder why that matters.

To explain simply, they turned the Western Fleet into cowards who would run back to Earth.

If Loki had just stayed put, the Western Fleet would have just maintained a standoff with Humanity.

But since Loki had already built up that threshold by attacking,

When Humanity attacked from behind too, they decided they couldn’t hold and ran back to their home base on Earth.

And with the Northeast, Northern, and Western Defense Fleets all converging,

They could leave Earth’s defense to these three fleets, allowing the Earth Defense Fleet to launch a full-scale offensive.

Since even without them, user fleets could no longer threaten Earth.

    Comments:

-[This explanation is so clear, #3 ranker]

-[So it’s basically not an Earth Defense Fleet but an Earth Invasion Fleet now]

-[Both Humanity and Loki are using their brains so much, it’s giving me a headache]

    -[SSTC]

-[Loki’s been checking Humanity all this time, and now they’ve served them a proper dish of revenge lol]

    -[Humanity in tears]

“I see, so in the end it was a battle of wits between the Humanity clan and the Loki clan.”

“At least that’s how I see it, Jessica.”

Even if that wasn’t the case, it would be a mess in its own way, but there was no chance those two prideful clans would say “it was all just a coincidence.”

They would most likely confirm that my thinking was correct.

    Meanwhile, at the Loki clan…

    <LokiLokiLokiLoki~>

    <Notice: LokiLokiLokiLokiLoki~>

-[Why did our notice go weird again?]

-[I heard they changed it from “HappyHappy” to that]

-[What’s going on all of a sudden?]

-[<Link to Gallery post admiring how Loki clan set up the board>]

-[They changed it after seeing this]

    -[Wait, we planned this?]

    -[Betelgeuse probably handled it]

-[Our clan leader and staff always work hard, they must have had a big picture in mind]

Unlike the clan members who were only good at trolling and scheming but not much help in other areas…

Although the beginning was a mess, and despite being the relief pitcher who stepped in when Humanity was struggling (which was somewhat irritating), when someone who “acknowledged” him posted…

“See! Everyone recognizes my big picture!”

“Yes, yes, I get it, but could you please sit down first? Clan Leader.”

    “Happy happy haaaappy~!”

“Our clan leader seems to have built up a lot of stress.”

    “Yeah, seems that way.”

Betelgeuse, the Loki clan leader, was showing continuous expressions of joy, such as doing breakdancing on the table in the middle of a meeting.

Meanwhile, regardless of whether Loki or Humanity were having fits, some newbies in the Gallery were puzzled about why all the clans and rankers were making such a fuss.

Title: But why is everyone so scared of the Earth Defense Fleet?

    Author: Anonymous

Content: [Image of a toad raising a question mark with dozens of question marks in the background]

    Why though?

    I seriously don’t know

Honestly, isn’t it just a slightly larger Yormungand-class?

No wait, it doesn’t even have the Big Fucking Gun attached to the Ouroboros or Yormungand, isn’t it just a really big Dreadnought class? Right?

    Comments:

    -[What… did you just say?]

-[Take that back… what you just said…!]

-[You little shit, are you trying to get yourself killed?]

Unfortunately, the way they asked the question ended up pressing the veterans’ “seizure button” (?)

The Gallery users first held a burning ceremony for the disrespectful newbie, then began to share the stories they knew about the “Leviathan.”
