Ch.409[Chapter 409] Battleship Construction

“This is the space battleship shipyard that is allied with the Federation.”

Stretch guided Sir Dominic to the space battleship shipyard.

    Astra IV Shipyard.

This shipyard was among the top three space battleship shipyards in Gachaland, known for building the most expensive but also the most powerful battleships.

    …or so Stretch explained.

“Expensive things are expensive because they’re worth the money.”

Sir Dominic nodded at Stretch’s words.

Just like the mythical tier skin he bought before, expensive things were worth their price.

Sir Dominic entered the shipyard with Stretch.

Inside, there were dozens of docks capable of building space battleships of at least 30,000 tons, and some of them already had battleships under construction, presumably from orders received.

Sir Dominic was overwhelmed by this massive space and kept exclaiming in amazement.

The overwhelming emotion brought by this space was beyond words.

    Stretch led Sir Dominic somewhere.

There, shipbuilders were gathered having some conversation, mostly about trivial matters.

“No, I’m telling you, the manufacturing formula with 600 manpower, 600 ammunition, and 400 parts is the best!”

“That won’t even produce anything above medium-size! In my opinion, it should be 430 manpower, 610 ammunition, and 610 parts!”

“If you want something above medium-size, you shouldn’t be using a small dock like this! You should use a large dock with about 4000 manpower, 4000 ammunition, 4000 parts, and around 15 cores!”

Sir Dominic couldn’t understand what the shipbuilders were saying, but their debate was heated enough for him to feel their passion.

As the debate seemed to drag on, Stretch squeezed between them and cleared his throat.

“Hey, friends? Are you going to keep our guest standing here?”

    “Ah.”

Only after Stretch interrupted did the shipbuilders notice that Sir Dominic and Stretch had arrived.

That’s how focused they were on their debate.

“Welcome to Astra IV Shipyard. We were so caught up in our discussion that we didn’t notice a guest had arrived. I apologize.”

    “It’s fine.”

Sir Dominic accepted the shipbuilders’ apology.

    “So, what brings you here?”

“This friend of mine wants to build a battleship.”

“I know that. Coming here means that’s your business. What I mean is, what tonnage of ship are you looking to build?”

    “Hmm.”

Sir Dominic stroked his chin thoughtfully at the shipbuilder’s question.

Sir Dominic didn’t know much about ships, so he didn’t understand what the shipbuilder was asking.

In the end, Sir Dominic decided to tell the shipbuilder everything honestly without hiding anything.

“Actually, I don’t know much about battleships.”

“Huh? Then why are you here?”

“I was recently hired by a commander, and the battlefield is in space.”

    “Ah, I see.”

The shipbuilder seemed to grasp the general situation from Sir Dominic’s explanation.

It seemed that Sir Dominic, in his position as an employee, was trying to do his best.

“Then I should recommend something suitable. But if you were looking for value for money, EliteXXI Shipyard would have been better. Why come to our expensive shipyard?”

    “Hmm?”

“This friend isn’t here to choose something suitable. He’s here to choose the best battleship. Despite appearances, he’s one of the richest people in Gachaland.”

Stretch stepped in to clear up the shipbuilder’s misunderstanding on behalf of Sir Dominic.

    “Rich, huh.”

The shipbuilder snickered at Stretch’s words.

“I’ve seen many people come here saying they want to build a space battleship, but I can count on one hand those who actually built top-tier ships.”

The shipbuilder didn’t seem to believe Stretch at all.

“How much would it take for you to believe me?”

Sir Dominic interjected into the conversation between Stretch and the shipbuilder.

    “Well…”

The shipbuilder scratched his chin for a moment, calculating an estimate.

“If you really want to build the highest grade, it would cost at least 7.5 million Gacha Stones without options. If you want it built immediately, add another 12 million Gacha Stones.”

    “That’s nothing.”

Sir Dominic said as he took out Gacha Stones from his inventory.

In fact, Sir Dominic still owned a farm in Tycoon City.

And that farm had continued to grow, now earning astronomical amounts of Credit and Gacha Stones.

In such a situation, it was impossible for Sir Dominic to be unable to pay around 20 million Gacha Stones.

With a thud, a bag of Gacha Stones taller than the shipbuilder fell beside him.

The shipbuilder gulped at the sudden appearance of this enormous amount of Gacha Stones.

It seemed he had been rude in front of a “real customer.”

Fortunately, Sir Dominic was magnanimous enough not to care about such trivial matters.

Rather, Sir Dominic wanted to add all available options to the battleship.

“How much would it cost for full options?”

    “About 32 million Gacha Stones…”

With another thud, another bag of Gacha Stones fell.

    “Is this enough?”

    “More than enough.”

    The shipbuilder’s tone became respectful.

“However, you still can’t receive it right away. It will take some time to begin production.”

After saying that, the shipbuilder immediately picked up a phone and began calling every shipbuilder he knew.

After calling hundreds of fellow shipbuilders in his phonebook, the shipbuilder bowed to Sir Dominic and rubbed his palms together.

“Please wait a moment. We’ll have it ready soon.”

The shipbuilder’s attitude had now become completely servile.

    Think about it.

What employee would remain dignified in front of someone who casually produces tens of millions of Gacha Stones in cash, not even in installments?

    That’s how terrifying capitalism was.

Even after minimizing the construction time, it would still take about 10 minutes to build the space battleship.

In the meantime, Sir Dominic was learning about the benefits of owning a space battleship.

    Research after purchase.

Although the situation was somehow reversed, Sir Dominic didn’t mind and asked Stretch about space battleships.

“What’s good about having a space battleship?”

    “Hmm.”

Stretch thought for a moment, then mentioned what he considered the biggest advantage.

    “The Wi-Fi signal is excellent.”

    “…?”

“Well, space battleships also function as satellites. It’s like having your own artificial satellite, so the Wi-Fi connection is amazing. Personal Wi-Fi, personal communication network, personal satellite.”

Sir Dominic nodded in understanding at Stretch’s explanation.

Come to think of it, there was an option called “communication wave amplification” among the options he had chosen, which must be the option that improves Wi-Fi connectivity.

In reality, communication wave amplification was a device that facilitated communication between battleships in space, but Sir Dominic, who still didn’t know much about battleships, simply understood it as a device that improves Wi-Fi signals.

    “Are there any other advantages?”

    “Hmm.”

Sir Dominic asked Stretch about other benefits.

Stretch thought a bit more deeply and then mentioned another advantage.

“You get an extra special skill slot.”

    “A special skill slot?”

“No, maybe I should call it an equipment slot?”

Stretch frowned for a moment, thinking hard, then shook his head and said.

“Well, anyway, if you have specific equipment in specific terrain, you can use special abilities. Trivial things like teleportation, support fire, or planet destruction.”

Sir Dominic thought that none of these things sounded trivial, but he supposed they might be considered trivial in the context of the entire universe.

“Well, since Sir Dominic’s battleship has all the options, it might be able to do all of those things.”

    Stretch said.

    “Construction complete!”

    Just then.

From far away, a shipbuilder announced that Sir Dominic’s space battleship was finished.

    “Let’s go see it.”

    Stretch said to Sir Dominic.

Sir Dominic stood up and walked toward where his space battleship would be.

Toward the largest dock in Astra IV Shipyard.

Although Sir Dominic wasn’t good at memorizing specifications, he could tell that the battleship before him was an extraordinary vessel.

“That’s all pure gold. The amount of gold used for this single ship is equivalent to the Empire’s annual budget.”

Sir Dominic’s battleship had a black base with gold decorations, which according to the shipbuilder were made of real gold.

The slightly angular exterior was designed to maximize internal capacity, but overall it resembled a galley ship, giving it an elegant charm.

At the front, there were ornate golden ram horns and additional shield armor with indifferent eye patterns, suggesting that this ship specialized in charging attacks.

A massive main gun pointing forward. And numerous gun batteries on both sides of the battleship.

All of this felt like a well-crafted sculpture, but the breathtaking emotion Sir Dominic felt came from elsewhere.

It was the scale of this battleship.

According to the shipbuilder’s explanation, this battleship was 1.2km in length, with a width of about 260m, slightly narrower than other battleships.

“How does it compare to the Uranus summoned by the Giant of Hundread Hands with the knowledge of Titan?”

Sir Dominic compared it to the largest battleship he had seen.

“Hmm… probably a little less than 1/10 of its size.”

Sir Dominic was belatedly amazed at the size of Uranus after two years.

    As expected of a Star.

“By the way, what would you like to name this ship?”

The shipbuilder asked Sir Dominic for the ship’s name.

    “Name?”

“Yes. Battleships each have their own names.”

Sir Dominic thought for a moment at the shipbuilder’s words, then named the battleship as it came to mind.

“Glory of Ferrant. Glory of Ferrant would be good.”

[Sir Dominic’s flagship, [Glory of Ferrant(★★★★★)] has been created!]

[When Sir Dominic participates in space warfare aboard the Glory of Ferrant, he will temporarily be treated as equivalent to a 5-star!]

And so, Sir Dominic’s flagship, Glory of Ferrant, was born.

A space battleship that provides excellent Wi-Fi signals anywhere in the world.
