Ch.391I Can Do It, If It’s Me! (1)
by fnovelpia
Looking at the chaotic state of the gallery, I started to feel that something was strange.
“Hmm, something seems off.”
“What do you mean, Commander?”
When I showed this reaction, Jessica expressed her doubts as she always does.
I decided to naturally reveal my suspicions to her.
“Well, as I was reading the gallery posts, I realized…”
“?”
“There’s something… something about the way users are whining in the gallery… it gives me a peculiar feeling.”
“A peculiar feeling… you say.”
“Yeah, at first glance I just vaguely thought it was hopeless, but looking again, I don’t think the event is quite that bad?”
“What?”
At my words, Jessica gave me a look that clearly meant ‘What about everything you just said and did?’
Regardless, I had a perfectly legitimate question.
“Look carefully, Jessica.”
“Yes.”
“If you look at the posts where users are whining… posts about battleships exploding are actually quite rare.”
“Um… is that so?”
Jessica merely responded with a ‘Was that the case?’ kind of reaction to my statement.
But that didn’t last long.

<Gallery search results for ‘Event’ tab>
<Number of posts containing ‘battleship’ images and content: 516>
<Number of posts not related to ‘battleships’: 2,123>
—————————————–
“Ta-da!”
“Oh…”
When I presented this definitive evidence of the gallery search results, Jessica nodded as she realized why I had reacted this way.
“I understand, Commander.”
“I’m glad you understand.”
Anyway, to summarize my point:
“If you look carefully, most user verification posts only mention relatively lightly armored ships like ‘cruisers or battlecruisers.'”
“Huh, is that so?”
“Yeah, so I’m thinking it might just be users overreacting.”
“Overreacting?”
Of course, Jessica showed a reaction that suggested she found my “theory” difficult to understand.
“Um… is there any reason to overreact?”
“Reason, you ask?”
“Yes, after all, to do that, they’d have to ‘verify’ their losses whether they like it or not.”
“That’s right.”
“So aren’t they essentially giving up on their own event and just trying to mess with us or other commanders…?”
“Hmmmm.”
I gently placed my hand on Jessica’s shoulder and calmly began to speak.
“Jessica dear, there are more twisted people in this world than you might think.”
“Well… that’s true, but…”
“There are people who, having failed themselves, only feel better if others suffer the same fate.”
“Ah.”
As my expression soured somewhat, Jessica seemed to understand what I meant and showed a very subtle expression.
==========
Of course, despite saying all this, I might discover something different upon further investigation.
Since the event period was generously set at over two weeks, unlike usual,
I decided to spend an entire day carefully reading through all the posts related to the event.
But as I continued examining various posts in the gallery, while also dealing with attention-seekers one by one,
It seemed I wasn’t the only one with such suspicions.
I could see major rebuttal posts appearing in response to the ongoing controversy about the “event difficulty.”
And the characteristic of these rebuttals, unlike those event participants whose mental states had been shattered in various ways as their ships exploded,
Was that they maintained a relatively “rational” approach while posting “analysis” along with their rebuttals…

Title: But seriously, can Round 6 really be that unfair?
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Image of a toad with a suspicious expression]
No matter how crazy the management team can be, it’s not easy to run a Crappy Game for over 5 years
Isn’t this just a problem caused by incompetent players or those who mindlessly charge in?

Title: Characteristics of those who claim their battleships or heavy battleships exploded in this event.txt
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Analysis diagram of a screenshot from a user crying about their Odin-class being destroyed.jpg], [Outline diagram analyzing and interpreting a user’s post claiming their battleship was destroyed in one hit.jpg]
Overall, they did things that deserved destruction
There’s talk about an Odin-class being destroyed by a single torpedo spam that even shattered the anti-torpedo zone
That anti-torpedo zone is just meant to block one medium torpedo or 4-5 light torpedoes without damage to the main body
But looking at the torpedo trails in the screenshot of the Odin-class destruction, there are at least 20 torpedoes minimum
I say “minimum” because there’s only one screenshot, so I can’t tell if those are torpedo trails or explosion effects from the ship being destroyed
As for the Bayern-class, the outer armor plate just melted smoothly
Despite appearances, it’s actually perfectly fine
And about the battleship being destroyed in one hit… after checking, it was just a lucky shot
Just consider it bad luck

Title: People who say quitting at Round 5 is based on intelligence are actually idiots

Whether others failed due to unfairness or not, that’s not my business
Looking at their behavior, I strongly feel they’re just trying to incite others because they failed

Literally the entire gallery was divided into two factions—’Is Round 5’s difficulty level absurd? The management team must be crazy!’ vs ‘You should blame your own intelligence level, why are you blaming a perfectly fine event!’—fighting and bickering with each other.
‘So my suspicions… were not wrong after all.’
Seeing my “suspicions” confirmed in various ways, I felt half satisfied.
“Wow… the gallery is gloriously on fire…”
“Commander, please get a grip.”
And half despair at the fact that I had to process all the reports flooding in with requests like ‘Please block the other person,’ which were pouring in endlessly.
I had to experience tremendous sadness as I achieved a perfect mental state of half-and-half.
‘Oh my God.’
But while I was thinking this and busy firing blocking beams at various people using “false reports” as an excuse,

<Do you accept?>

At this unexpected chat request, I found myself wondering what issue had come up this time.
