The person who opened the door to the Chancellor’s office was a woman who appeared to be around my age.

Her well-ripened orange-like hair fell to her shoulders, and the color of her eyes reminded me of the evening sunset.

She wore a white shirt and a black miniskirt that perfectly showcased her excellent figure—everything was in the right place, as they say.

She walked past me sitting on the sofa and stood at attention in front of the Chancellor.

“Glesius Academy first-year, Reina Eldinar. I’ve come at your summons, Chancellor.”

    “Welcome, Reina.”

The Chancellor greeted the female student named Reina warmly.

“May I ask why you called for me?”

Reina was clearly wearing the badge symbolizing an Academy student, but the impression she gave off was that of a rigid military guard on duty.

“You’re the class representative for the first-year students, correct?”

    “Yes, that’s right.”

Hmm. So this girl is the class representative. Reina Eldinar, was it?

I should probably remember her name.

She might not be the heroine of Erasto Chronicle, but as a class representative, she must be fairly skilled.

“The reason I called you here, Reina, is to help Pathos here adjust to the Academy.”

“This is my first time seeing him. Is he perhaps an international student?”

Reina looked at me and slightly furrowed her brow.

    Does she not like me?

Perhaps she thinks I got into the Academy through some illegal means?

“He’s not an international student from another country, but a student admitted through a special selection process.”

    “By special selection, you mean…?”

“An ability user recommended by Chancellor Bergen Steiler. Is that explanation sufficient?”

When the Chancellor explained who I was to Reina, her expression visibly relaxed.

“Ah, yes. I understand. When should I start guiding him?”

“I believe everyone has the afternoon off today, so start with a simple tour of the Academy today. From tomorrow, you’ll be attending the same classes for a month, so please help him make friends with the other students.”

    “Understood, Chancellor.”

Listening to their conversation, it seemed that this student named Reina had been chosen to help me adjust to the Academy.

The Chancellor must have thought she possessed the skills and character worthy of being selected as a representative of her entire year.

“Oh dear, I’d like to continue our conversation, but something has come up this afternoon. I’ll call for you again when I have time. Reina, could you please show Pathos around the Academy?”

At the Chancellor’s words, Reina and I bowed to the Chancellor and left the office.

An uncomfortable silence hung between us as we exited the office and the tower of paperwork.

“…Um, what the Chancellor said. Is it true?”

It was Reina who broke the uncomfortable silence first.

    “What… do you mean?”

I knew what she was asking, but I pretended not to understand her question, hoping she would speak more directly rather than beating around the bush.

“About you entering the Academy with the Chancellor’s recommendation. Is that true?”

Reina stood looking at me with her orange eyes wide open.

“It is true. Chancellor Bergen Steiler suggested that I try enrolling in the Academy.”

I answered Reina with exactly what she asked, nothing more, nothing less.

“So, you accepted the Chancellor’s suggestion and enrolled in Glesius Academy?”

“What fool in this world would refuse when offered various benefits without even having to ask for them?”

Reina and I continued our conversation as we walked out of the tower of paperwork.

Our current topic was about my admission to the Academy.

“I’m just surprised that you’ve enrolled in the Academy. You don’t seem to have any noticeable abilities, yet you received the Chancellor’s recommendation and even had tea with the Chancellor.”

“I suppose it means that in their eyes, I’m worthy of such treatment.”

“I guess so. That makes sense. They’re not the type to show kindness to just anyone unless they truly acknowledge them.”

“You seem to know the Chancellor and the Minister quite well?”

From what I was hearing, Reina spoke as if she knew the two of them very well.

Was she perhaps displeased that I was receiving benefits from the Chancellor and the Minister?

“My father is the head of House Eldinar, one of the three ducal families in the Empire. So I hear, learn, and know more than other students.”

Hmm, so her surname Eldinar belongs to a ducal family?

That means she belongs to the highest echelon of nobility, possibly of pure bloodline.

“That’s why I’m very curious about you. What kind of ability do you possess that makes the Chancellor and the Minister want to take care of you?”

Reina was now curious about what ability I had.

I knew that my ability wasn’t something that could be hidden even if I tried, so I was willing to tell her.

    “The ability to fix everything.”

    “What? Fix what?”

“The ability to fix everything. Everything.”

Reina heard my words but looked at me with an expression of incomprehension.

“The ability to fix everything? Is there such an ability? I’ve never heard of it before.”

As expected. Despite hearing what I said clearly, she was skeptical about my ability.

“Of course you haven’t seen it before. Because it’s an ability that didn’t exist before.”

“From whom did you receive this ability as a gift?”

    “From the Great Goddess, Epitrina.”

    “What?”

Reina was shocked when I mentioned Epitrina’s name.

She too seemed to be well aware of Epitrina’s “notoriety.”

“Y-y-you! You can’t casually speak the Great Goddess’s name like that! Something terrible will happen!”

“I don’t think so. That’s just your opinion.”

Reina was pointing her finger at me, but her eyes were trembling.

“A-are you crazy?! Don’t you know you’ll be divinely punished for speaking the Great Goddess’s name?”

    “That’s just your belief. Look.”

I spread my arms and said to Reina.

“Is the Great Goddess Epitrina such a fearsome goddess?”

“Huh? Why aren’t you being punished?”

I mentioned Epitrina’s name again, but unlike the fearful Reina, nothing happened to me.

    “Who on earth are you?”

“Me? I’m Pathos. I’m also an ability user who received a gift from the Great Goddess Epitrina.”

I clearly revealed who I was to Reina.

I wanted to tell her where my ability came from so that she could properly explain about me to others she might meet later.

“Someone who received an ability from Epitrina… That’s never been mentioned even in history books…”

Reina stood looking at me with an expression of disbelief.

I just shrugged my shoulders as I looked at her.

“Anyway, could you start showing me around the Academy facilities? If we want to see everything today, we should move quickly.”

“Ah, yes, right. Follow me. I’ll guide you through the Academy facilities now.”

When I requested the Academy tour, Reina guided me with a much softer attitude and voice than before.

I was able to explore the interior of Glesius Academy while accompanying her.

“Oh? Reina, who’s that person next to you?”

“This is Pathos, who’s been admitted through a special selection process. He was recommended by the Chancellor and entered through a special admission.”

Whenever we met people while walking together, Reina would introduce me.

However, the looks I received weren’t particularly friendly.

They probably didn’t like that I had been admitted through a special selection process.

“Ah! I know him. Aren’t you the person who gave out bread at that repair shop?”

Among them was a student who recognized me.

Perhaps some Academy students had eaten or received bread made with my ability.

“Everyone! This is the person who made that delicious bread!”

    “What?”

    “Really?”

But from the moment that female student identified me as the provider of delicious bread, the gazes of those around me began to change to become more favorable.

“That’s the student who entered through special selection? If he’s the one who made that bread, he definitely deserves to be here.”

“Hmm, true. With the ability to make bread like that, he’s certainly qualified to be our peer.”

Some students even said they would acknowledge me as their peer.

Since making that bread was indeed part of my ability, I suddenly found it easier to make friends thanks to my power.

Thanks to this, Reina and I were able to successfully complete our Academy tour.

    And the next morning.

“Um, excuse me. Could you possibly make some of that bread?”

From the very first class, I was bombarded with countless gazes from students requesting bread from me.
