Ch.387″Accept it without resistance.” (3)

However, Icarus and other users had no way of knowing that the event was being held in such a manner.
Everyone was calmly proceeding with the event, simply accepting things as they were.
And what was our “Icarus A.K.A. The One Who Took the Pirate Empress’s Virginity” doing right now…?

“Kieeeeeeeek.”
“You sound just like a pterodactyl, Commander.”
After devouring the mass battle of Round 1 with Ouroboros’s Big-Fucking-Gun’s spread mode like eating cake in an instant.
Then grinding through the enemy fleets in Rounds 2 and 3 by deploying the Dreadnought and Kraken, along with the remaining ships to form both the center and wings.
In many ways, the situation was quite easy, making me strongly feel that this event was truly sweet as honey.
Especially when the fleet that appeared in Round 4 was similar to my own “elite few” formation with large ships—essentially a formation similar to a “user fleet.”
‘Click Ouroboros, click Hresvelgr.’
With Ouroboros firing concentrated shots that could sink even battleships in one hit with just a direct hit.
And Hresvelgr’s strategic missiles, which had grown to the size of “medium cruisers” due to excessive leveling and equipment enhancements.
Though unintentional, I somehow ended up with a formation that completely countered such “small number of large ships” fleet compositions.
Thanks to clearing Round 4 more quickly and easily than expected, I was expressing my joy by performing pterodactyl echoes in the command center.
And at this point, not only me but other users also realized that this event wasn’t about all users facing the “same” enemies…

Title: Just realized that in this event, different users face different enemies

Why though
Comments:
-[Isn’t it to prevent latecomers from benefiting from the strategies figured out by the vanguard?]
-˪[Oh that’s it]
-˪[Smart young man;;;]
-[Still, they’re not completely different]
-[Seems like they prepared a few hundred fleet compositions and rotate through them]
-˪[Oh, so if we memorize all of them, we can handle enemies for each round?]
-˪[Realistically, if someone could do that, they wouldn’t be playing games but would’ve gone to Harvard]
-˪[Harvard doesn’t exist anymore]
-˪[Ah]
-[LOLOLOLOL]

As it turned out, Round 1 had a similar structure for everyone, so latecomers could unknowingly benefit from the information shared by the vanguard users.
But from Round 2 onward, the number of random possibilities increased dramatically, making it impossible for latecomers to simply coast through.
Perhaps that’s why…

Title: The devs have lost their minds

These bastards, what the hell are they thinking just mindlessly selecting variations and randomizing them?
If they’re gonna do this, they should randomize the number of ships and formations too
Why are they doing such a crappy job!
Comments:
-[This is some chimera of mixed dialects]
-[What exactly would you do with randomization?]
-˪[For example, what if only one ship appears, but it’s a super-duper dreadnought or something](Author)
-˪[Could current user firepower even handle something like that? lol]
-˪[There’s nothing like that yet, but if there were, only siege-type battleships would be able to deal damage]
-˪[People with strategic missiles could handle it]
-˪[I think you’re confused by what the 3rd-ranked player always uses, but those aren’t common]

Comments like these were gradually emerging, suggesting that instead of algorithmic randomization through “variations,” they should implement complete randomization.
Of course, there was no way the developers would pay attention to such minor details, so most of these were just empty cries echoing in the gallery.
And as one of those many users, I too was “crying out” in the gallery while enjoying the event in various ways.
==========
Since such miscellaneous talk was merely simple chatter, I started to focus on the event itself again.
I decided to check on the current status of the event.
And as the battle results showed, we had already progressed to Round 4.

<Shield Satellites: 5><Consumes 1 point per 2 additional satellites>
<Base Hangars: 3><Consumes 1 point per additional hangar>
<Additional Defense Facility List>
<None>

The base’s defensive facilities were quite well-developed.
Particularly those shield satellites, which had the special function of “completely ignoring damage below a certain threshold”—something only Xenovia Empire ships could use.
I had diligently built them using points awarded after each round, but…
“Commander, aren’t you planning to build additional defense facilities?”
“Hmm, I suppose it’s about time to build some.”
In Round 3, when a “firepower-enhanced Dreadnought” appeared as an enemy and demolished a shield satellite in a single shot.
Whether I liked it or not, I judged that separate defensive facilities capable of blocking enemy attacks or routes would be necessary.
So I immediately entered the <Additional Defense Facilities> management menu to consider what to build.

<Additional Defense Facility Construction List>
<Super-alloy Defense Barrier: 1 point required>
<Camouflaged Fortress Network: 2 points required>
<Large-scale Minefield: 1 point required>
<Fleet Resonance Barrier One-time Use: 1 point required>
<Stealth-Cloaking Detection Radar: 2 points required>
<Important Note!>
<All additional defense facilities can only be used once per round!>
<All facilities, whether used or unused, will be deleted when the round ends.>
—————————————–
Looking at the list and required points, I found myself in quite a dilemma.
“Which one is best, Commander?”
“It depends on what enemies appear.”
If the next round’s enemies were like Round 1’s “mass assault with small ships” or “aircraft carrier fleets deploying large numbers of carrier-based aircraft,” then barriers or barriers would be meaningless.
Conversely, if crazy firepower ships like siege-type battleships or super dreadnoughts appeared as enemies?
Then things like minefields or detection radars would become meaningless.
