The fortunate thing was that my room had a separate CCTV that I could access.

I thought I’d be able to see how my actions—which only I couldn’t see—had unfolded.

    “Hehehe…”

    “Mmm…”

While stroking the head of Marian, who was lying unconscious beside me making purring sounds, I tried to check the CCTV footage.

    But…

    -“AAAAARGH!”

    “…I can’t see anything.”

For some reason, my muscles had been bulging all over my body.

The harmony between me and Marian, who didn’t reject my touch but fully accepted it, had looked quite impressive.

But the moment I lifted Marian up in a position that looked like something from an extreme western adult film…

Marian’s shoe flew off from the recoil, and the screen went black right after showing the heel of her high heel piercing the CCTV camera.

I felt sadness washing over me at this unfair situation that prevented me from being happy.

But that wasn’t the end of what I should be sad about.

    -Sniff sniff.

    “…”

Obviously, if Marian’s entire body was covered in white fluid…

It meant my entire room was filled with a white, sticky substance that gave off an overpowering scent of night flowers.

Thanks to that, while Marian—who had passed out after being injected with so much white stuff that her stomach was full—was carried to the medical room by the agents I called.

Similarly, after the NPC agents of the base cleaned my room.

And after they replaced the mattress, which was so thoroughly soaked that sitting on it would cause “that” to leak out…

Only then could I enjoy a leisurely and cozy rest on a fluffy mattress free of night flower scent.

Of course, after taking such a rest and greeting a refreshingly clear morning the next day.

    “Commander, it’s a refreshing morning, isn’t it?”

    “Hmm? Yes, it is.”

“But there’s one thing I need to tell you—you’ve missed your daily quests for three days.”

    “AAAAARGH!!!”

    “Actually, it’s two days.”

    “AAAAARGH!”

Perhaps due to the intense and vigorous time with Marian, and the resulting physical exhaustion.

When I learned that I had missed daily quests for three—no, two days.

I could feel the refreshing feeling I had just moments ago instantly vanishing.

    ———-

And after I spent that time filled with night flower scent, losing two days’ worth of daily quests and my sanity along with it.

As I tried to pull myself together somehow, memories of ‘that thing’ that happened with Marian over those two days and nights suddenly surfaced—whether they were “non-existent memories” or whatever.

As my confusion only grew, I was about to proceed with today’s daily quest when at that moment.

    ‘Oh.’

How long has it been since I tested the limits of my luck(?) with the Very Very Mini-Mini Random Reroll Gacha event, and already there’s a new event?

    ‘Well, that’s good.’

To be honest, the reroll event that only brought me human humiliation(?) and sadness…

If we’re being frank, it was far too small in scale to be considered an “event” by users like me.

‘No, that was just a 10-pull gacha ticket with reroll capability.’

For me and some other unfortunate users who hit 7,000, 8,000, or even 9,000 or 10,000 pulls, we got to “enjoy” it for a long time.

But for lucky users, the event would have ended in just a few seconds.

And even for average users, it would have ended in a few minutes to an hour at most.

So it made sense that the management would take this opportunity to launch a new event.

And as I was reading this event message, our Jessica also quietly came over to take a look, and after nodding her head, showed her usual reaction.

“Finally, a new event is taking place, Commander.”

“Yeah, and it happens to be one that takes quite a lot of time.”

    “Is that so?”

At my words, Jessica tilted her head with a puzzled expression.

“Will it really consume that much time? From the event description, it seems like enemies just rush into the ‘base’.”

    “Well…”

“Wouldn’t that end much faster than expected?”

Of course, to Jessica’s question, as always.

“That’s only true for round 1. From round 2 onwards, things get a bit different.”

    “Huh.”

After giving a simple answer to her question.

Rather than explaining everything in detail myself, I showed her a gallery post for a quicker and cleaner explanation.

Title: This event seriously takes a TON of time

    Author: ChickenCountryPizzaEmperor

Content: [Image of a toad sighing deeply]

Even when it was just a game, you had to keep your phone on for 1-2 hours if you wanted to do it properly, so some people just gave up in the middle because it was too annoying

I played it through to the end because I found it fun, but I couldn’t do it two or three times in a row lol

    Comments:

    -[How intense is it?]

-˪[Newbie, sit down. I’m about to tell you an awesome story] (Author)

-˪[Now we will observe the ‘awesome gameplay’ of the deceased]

-˪[Nothing special, just that from round 2, enemies maneuver really well, ambush your base, and all that?] (Author)

-˪[And as the rounds progress, it’s not just their performance but their intelligence and movement patterns that become insanely erratic] (Author)

-[The guy who wrote this is right. Later on, enemy flagships keep calling for reinforcements through communication requests]

-˪[But the damn flagship doesn’t just sit still—it keeps using terrain as shields, dodging around, and utilizing escort ships]

-˪[Or it lures our fleet as bait and then calls in their fleet to attack that position, which is really f***ing annoying]

-˪[Then can’t we just ignore the flagship and wait it out?]

-˪[If you do that, a massive fleet beyond what your base and fleet can defend against will come and destroy everything with sheer numbers]

-˪[Don’t forget that in this event, ships that get destroyed won’t be restored]

    -˪[Oh right]

    —————————————–

“…So it’s not just about defense, but also striking offensively at appropriate times?”

“That’s exactly it, Jessica. I have nothing more to teach you.”

After watching various aspects of fleet operations for 3 years by my side.

    And constantly reading gallery posts.

Seeing Jessica who has grown enough to go down the mountain and fight with users right away, I felt truly moved.
