After deciding to seriously gather resources…

    I realized at this point that there was absolutely nothing urgent I could do right away.

    ‘So, what should I do now?’

    The auxiliary building construction was already underway with the <Special Defense Facility>.

    —————————————-

    <Special Defense Facility Under Construction…>

    <Time Remaining Until Completion: 13 days 4 hours 12 minutes 25 seconds>

    —————————————-

    For this construction to be completed, it would take at least another 2 weeks.

    But 2 weeks was about the same timeframe I had estimated I’d need to seriously gather resources anyway.

    ‘Hmm, there’s nothing more I can do here.’

    If I could at least run the shipyard at full capacity, I could watch massive starships take shape in real-time and think “Wow, that’s awesome!”

    Unfortunately, there was a reason why I hadn’t built anything in the shipyard since constructing the “Dreadnought”…

    And that reason was…

    “Oh right, Commander.”

    “Yes?”

    “As you instructed, I’ve moved the Bayern-class in its packaged state between the Tannhäuser’s external defense turrets.”

    “Good job. You didn’t let it drift into outer space from impact or anything, right?”

    “It’s wedged between the surrounding turrets, and all the mooring lines are properly secured.”

    “Good… wait, mooring lines?”

    “Yes, I tied the Kashima-class next to it as well.”

    ‘So that’s how they’re secured.’

    The ships Jessica just mentioned, the “Bayern-class” and “Kashima-class,” were still in their packaged state.

    This was the same reason I hadn’t “received” them yet.

    And what was that reason?

    “Anyway, excluding the Khabarovsk-class, we have exactly 90 fleet points left, so the Dreadnought construction will proceed normally.”

    “Of course, that’s why we’re doing all these bizarre things in the first place.”

    Just like when I obtained Kraken Unit 2 previously, this was all to create a fleet that deliciously exceeded the fleet point limit.

    As I mentioned before, to exceed the fleet points, I needed at least 2 points of leeway.

    After setting aside the 90 points required for the Dreadnought, I planned to dismantle two patrol ships to gain 2 more points.

    Once the Dreadnought construction was complete, I intended to sell the Kashima-class on the trading market for “gold income” and then receive the Bayern-class…

    The problem was, as mentioned above, if I “received” these ships now, the fleet points available for the Dreadnought would be reduced accordingly.

    That would cause the ongoing Dreadnought construction to come to a complete halt…

    This is where the trick that I and other users frequently employed came into play.

    ‘Not enough fleet points if I receive them? Then I just won’t receive them and hold out!’

    Based on this miraculous logic, to avoid the automatic “receipt” that would happen if I brought them into the base…

    I had them thrown in packaged state between the defense turrets on the outpost’s outer wall.

    However, this method was nothing more than a loophole.

    Those ships placed outside were in a neutral state because I hadn’t received them.

    If another user approached those ships I left outside?

    They could claim my unclaimed gacha ships as their own, which is why…

    “Just to be sure, you’ve set the surrounding defense systems to maximum, right?”

    “Yes, and I’ve also stationed part of the security fleet nearby to prevent other commanders’ fleets from approaching.”

    “Good.”

    Jessica and I had thoroughly prepared to prevent any potential mishaps, as we just discussed.

    ==========

    Despite my meticulous(?) planning, the harsh reality was relentlessly trying to break my ankles.

    Among those two neutral ships, I planned to sell the Kashima-class on the trading market as planned, but…

    “Ugh, it’s not selling at all.”

    “I know, Commander.”

    Despite including equipment and offering it at a bargain price…

    Unfortunately, perhaps because it was just an A-rank, it wasn’t attracting any trades, beyond my expectations.

    I started at 500 gold and had lowered it all the way to 150 gold, but still nothing.

    ‘Is this why they say don’t even look at A-rank or below on the trading market?’

    Fortunately, after even that 150 gold trade attempt failed…

    While I was sitting there dejectedly, a user docked at Tannhäuser sent me a chat message…

    —————————————-

    <Ciao requests to chat with Commander!>

    <Chat accepted!>

    -[Hey hey hey]

    -[You took down an anti-air destroyer from the trading market, wanna sell it to me?](Ciao)

    -[Huh?](Icarus)

    -[I’m going to work as a mercenary for another clan, and they say the opponent has carriers]

    -[Most users docked at Tannhäuser are mercenaries anyway]

    -[So I need something with good anti-air capabilities, is that okay?]

    -[I’m a bit short on gold, so if possible, I’d like to pay with resources instead](Ciao)

    —————————————-

    Since he wasn’t being unreasonable but rather proposing a fairly reasonable negotiation…

    After considering this user “Ciao’s” offer for a moment… I decided to accept.

    —————————————-

    -[How much in resources?](Icarus)

    -[It’s a gacha ship after all, and will the anti-air equipment be included as shown on the marketplace?](Ciao)

    -[Yeah, that’s on the house]

    -[But just so you know, the ship is brand new, so it’s not leveled up](Icarus)

    -[That’s fine, I can level it up myself]

    -[How about 4,000 minerals and 1,200 rare resources?](Ciao)

    -[Good, seems like a reasonable offer](Icarus)

    -[Deal done, congrats](Ciao)

    <Ciao requests a trade with Commander!>

    -<Ciao (4,000 Minerals, 1,200 Rare Resources, 50 Gold) ⇒ Icarus>

    -<Icarus (Kashima-class Anti-Air Destroyer 1 unit) ⇒ Ciao>

    <Do you accept?>

    <(Y)/N>

    -[Thanks for the smooth trade](Ciao)

    -[It was a pleasure, thanks](Icarus)

    —————————————-

    And through this incredibly smooth transaction, our Kashima-class was finally sold.

    ‘Farewell, Kashima. Stay strong out there in the wild.’

    After completing this cool transaction, I was grinning at the thought of receiving the Bayern-class as soon as the Dreadnought construction was finished, making my fleet complete once again.

    But that feeling didn’t last long.

    Suddenly, I realized something new from the chat with the user “Ciao”…

    ‘Wait a minute, what did he mean by mercenary?’

    Wondering what that was all about, I decided to quietly open the “Triangle Zone Chat Room” to gather more information.
