Ch.363″I don’t like being scammed on rent (?).”
by fnovelpia
Over the past three days, there have been many confusing events.
After appointing relatively trustworthy users as village chiefs for “Avalon” and “Barracuda,” which I considered urgent matters, well…
I was secretly feeling satisfied as problems were clearly diminishing more than I had expected.
Of course, to reach this satisfaction, I had to go through quite a few trials and errors in the process…

Title: The Brutal History of Avalon and Barracuda Village Chiefs.txt

Avalon first
1st Village Chief:
Immediately after being elected, suddenly went power-crazy and tried to make a rapid move, but when Icarus said that wasn’t allowed, they fled
2nd Village Chief:
The first thing they did after taking office was randomly trying to dock their acquaintances at the base
During that process, one of those acquaintances reported “this bastard is planning a rebellion,” and when exposed, they actually rebelled, got beaten by the main fleet, and had their base demolished
3rd Village Chief:
After the above two chiefs were all replaced within just 10 hours, this person has been working until now
Just ordinary and gives off a civil servant vibe
Seems like the person who will last the longest
Barracuda
1st Village Chief:
Tried to rebel as soon as they docked and got kicked out
Seems like someone who didn’t see the previous failed attempt to dock at Barracuda central and reap benefits
2nd Village Chief:
After trying it out, said it was boring and fled
The funny thing is that Icarus got so angry about this that he completely revoked the authority to dock at Barracuda, so they ended up getting kicked out
3rd Village Chief:
Had everything prepared thinking they would take the position, but the person refused and ran away
4th Village Chief:
Current person, yep
Comments:
-[What the hell, village chiefs are being replaced like Roman emperors]
-˪[That joke sounds a bit old-fashioned]
-˪[SHUT!!!!UP!!!!]
-[It’s a mess, but does that mean things are normal now?]
-˪[Yeah, at least they’re not trolls like those 1st and 2nd bastards](Author)
-˪[Then that’s good enough]

As you can see from the posts on the gallery, when I let people become village chiefs because they asked…
There were always one or two people who would deliberately try to screw me over.
From my perspective, saying I was “extremely angry” would be an understatement for how I felt.
But now that’s all goodbye.
After two rounds of failures, both bases now had decent village chiefs in place.
I no longer had to worry about dealing with strange people anymore.
But there was a more important issue at hand.
Just as I had finally resolved the village chief problem and was about to hurry with hiring mercenaries for the base…
With a “ding” sound effect, a new event… no, an update message appeared before my eyes.
The problem was that the content of that message seemed to be specifically targeting me in many ways.
—————————————–
<General Announcement!>
<Base System Update!>
<Dear Commanders, are you enjoying the game?>
<This is regarding obtaining additional resources through base docking.>
<Recently, among commanders who earn resources through base docking privileges, some have been demanding excessive resources or>
<conversely, requiring too few resources, causing various problems and inquiries.>
<Therefore, effective immediately, rental fees for docking at bases occupied by clans or users will be processed through a separate system!>
<When docking at a base, the owner can collect a certain amount of resources from the docking party every week.>
<The amount of resources that can be collected varies depending on the base’s level.>
<The maximum amount of resources that can be collected weekly for base docking cannot exceed 1,000.>

“What the hell?!”
“What’s wrong? Ah… I see.”
It’s been 4 days since I took over Tannhäuser.
I was about to be happy that the number of docked users had increased to nearly a thousand, meaning I would receive over 60 million minerals per week.
But no chance of that happening. As I watched resources being normalized through this update…
I could deeply feel what it’s like to have my head smashed by the game operators.
And since this was an “update notice,” other users naturally saw the message too…
As a result.

Damn, how can they release this update the day after I sent resources
Arrrrrgh
Comments:
-[Where the hell is this guy docking to pay that much?]
-[Welcome, sucker]
-[This guy just has a lot of resources]
-[What a fool;;;]

While there were posts whining about not being able to get back resources they’d already paid…
My triangular zone, which had recently become a hot topic, was naturally the hottest issue…

Title: Upvote if you’re a Tannhäuser resident hahahahaha
Author: Anonymous
Content: [Chat.jpg of Icarus saying not to give resources yet, and that he’ll collect them all at once when everything is fully settled]
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
Saving the residents as expected of Lord Icarus hahahahaha
Comments:
-[Wow, he saved them]
-[Weekly payment got cut from 3,300 to 1,000, but at least he saved the residents from wasting resources]
-[Hahahahahahaha]
-[The timing worked out perfectly]
-[Hahahahaha]
-[Kyaaaaa! Master!]
-[Feel so sorry for him, this would have been the perfect timing to say “Now let’s start collecting some resources”]
-˪[No chance, just straight to “resource normalization”]
—————————————–
I hadn’t particularly intended anything.
Unlike other base-owning users, I had delayed collecting resource transfers from Tannhäuser residents for about a week.
As a result, my reputation in the gallery suddenly skyrocketed—the world works in mysterious ways.
But regardless of that, when resource income suddenly plummeted…
“Jessica, Jessica.”
“Yes, Commander, you’re asking about the resource income calculation, right?”
When I called Jessica who was standing beside me, she had been looking at the gallery screen with me.
“I’ve done a rough calculation, but even at maximum capacity… with the current number of people, the supply rate is lower than what we were receiving before.”
“How much lower?”
“Previously, we were getting about 3.3 million minerals just from the commanders docked at Avalon and Barracuda, right?”
“Ah, that’s right.”
As I nodded my head to show I remembered…
Jessica said the conversation would be simple then, and immediately dropped shocking news on me.
“About two-thirds of what we were getting before.”
“…Even though the number of people doubled, we’re getting less resources?”
“Yes, and that’s just considering minerals. If you include rare resources and gold, it decreases even more.”
“…”
After hearing those words, I finally understood why users who get hit with the nerf hammer from the operators cry out in agony.
I could feel indescribable curses welling up from inside me.
‘Ahhh, now I understand, Mr. Unlimited Resource Income.’
