Chapter Index

Of course, the chat room’s reaction to my response changed quite subtly…

But when I cleanly promised, “As soon as Tannhäuser’s defenses are complete, I’ll give you all priority docking rights at the base AAAAARGH!!!”

    <Avalon-Barracuda-Tannhäuser Residents Chat Room>

<Notice: Those planning to move to Tannhäuser, check in here>

    -[Nice]

    -[That’s more like it]

-[Well, they can’t really accept users without a defense fleet]

    -[Yep]

-[As expected of our Commander, I knew we could trust you]

    -[These forest friends, I swear]

Everyone suddenly changed their attitude as if nothing had happened.

They switched positions instantly, resembling what someone in the chat called “forest friends” with how quickly they changed their tune.

The problem was that these kinds of conversations didn’t just stay in the chat room…

    <Avalon-Barracuda-Tannhäuser Residents Chat Room>

<Notice: Those planning to move to Tannhäuser, check in here>

-[Oh, someone took screenshots of the chat and posted them in the gallery]

    -[Why would they do that?]

    -[Lol]

<Fiat has been forcibly removed from the chat room.>

    -[Handled](Administrator)

    -[Wow]

There were people who craved attention by posting to the gallery.

The chat room administrator/village chief(?) quickly identified the user and immediately removed them from the chat to prevent further exposure.

Unfortunately, there was no way to stop screenshots that had already been uploaded to the gallery.

Title: Breaking News) Icarus refuses docking at Tannhäuser

    Author: News Boy

Content: [Leaked internal chat room image.jpg]

    Well

To be precise, he’s only refusing until sufficient defensive forces are secured

As always, I have no comment on this matter

    Comments:

-[How much defensive power can a single user build anyway?]

-[Isn’t he just making excuses because he doesn’t want to let people in?]

    -˪[That’s not wrong though?]

-[But with Avalon and Barracuda, they accepted users when the defense fleets were intact, so this makes sense]

Title: We condemn Icarus, the greedy landlord!

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [Leaked chat room content.jpg]

He’s hoarding the level 7 base for himself and refusing to open it to other users! This evil landlord must step down!

All users have the right to use Tannhäuser!

    Boo!

    Comments:

    -[Who is this guy?]

-[This feels like a labor union]

-[Why does this seem so genuine?]

-[It’s so authentically union-like that I don’t even know what to say]

    -˪[You too?]

    ‘What’s with these people?’

All these strange characters were popping up out of nowhere.

Thanks to them, I was left with complicated feelings that were hard to describe as I watched users arguing among themselves about whether I should accept them or not.

But this proved to be just a temporary controversy.

After a week passed and the planned move-in(?) to Tannhäuser began…

    Title: Current situation near Tannhäuser.jpg

Are you guys here for real estate?

There were so many people in the gallery criticizing the fuss over Tannhäuser

Was it all WWE to cut off people trying to move into Tannhäuser?

    Is this for real?

    Comments:

    -[It’s the usual WWE]

-[Ah hahaha this is when you kick away the ladder after climbing up]

    -[You believed the gallery?]

    -˪[I trusted you bastards…](Author)

    -˪[Amateur lol]

As always, it was just the usual WWE.

Hundreds of users were flocking to move into Tannhäuser, causing unexpected chaos.

However, after the so-called “advance party” of users docked at Tannhäuser first…

    <Avalon-Barracuda-Tannhäuser Residents Chat Room>

<Notice: List of buffs when docking at Tannhäuser.txt>

-[Hmm, Tannhäuser seems to have mostly offensive buffs]

-[Honestly, if you’re just looking to survive, I think it’s better to stay at Avalon or Barracuda]

    -[Really?]

    -[Yep]

-[Most of Tannhäuser’s docking buffs are related to teleportation, and the performance boost isn’t very useful unless you’re fighting in groups]

-[The absolute resource supply increases with docking, but everything else is pretty ambiguous]

    -[Hmm interesting]

Title: Attention to those planning to move to Tannhäuser

    Author: Anonymous

Content: [List of buffs for ‘regular’ docking at Tannhäuser, overall about 1/4 of Icarus’s docking buffs.jpg]

If you’re planning to move to Tannhäuser, you should know that structurally it’s a “gateway fortress” so it’s different from fortresses or supply bases like Avalon or Barracuda

I mean, the absolute resource supply is better because of its level

But everything else is just so-so

Tannhäuser is really only useful for large clans looking to expand

At least for users like Icarus who can’t expand any further on their own, I’m not sure it’s worth it

    Comments:

-[After moving in and checking the chat room, the general assessment is that it’s only useful for offensive-minded users]

    -˪[That’s not wrong](Author)

-˪[Most buffs are teleport-related, which isn’t very useful for users who just want to farm](Author)

-[The fact that it’s for clan expansion is real because enhanced teleport performance = enhanced user mobility, which is for quickly deploying fleets in war]

-[So unlike before, it’s not great unless you’re a player who likes to fight?]

    -˪[Yep]

-˪[Well, resource supply still increases, so cheers to that]

-˪[But regular docking still supports shipyards, so it’s better than nothing]

“This is quite a confusing situation, Jessica.”

“Well, you seem more confused than I am, Commander.”

For me, central docking made a huge difference in performance, so docking here was beneficial.

But from the perspective of other users, especially those already docked at Avalon or Barracuda, it didn’t seem that appealing.

Two-thirds of the users from Avalon and Barracuda decided to stay where they were.

And because of that, Tannhäuser suddenly had extra space.

Perhaps because of that post someone uploaded to the gallery explaining that this docking spot would help with “combat”…

“Hmm, quite a lot of users with fleets are gathering this time.”

“I suppose it’s because of Tannhäuser’s buffs. It seems many Commanders are treating this place like a marketplace.”

Somehow, this time the users trying to move in were all properly equipped, mostly “full-fledged users” by central zone standards.

I started wondering whether I should accept all these people or not.

Of course, that worry didn’t last long.

‘Come to think of it, now that the defense fleet is intact, if I receive more resources and quickly start building the fortress’s main cannon, there shouldn’t be any major problems.’

If the fortress’s main cannon construction could be handled, I could manage the scale of docked users at any time.

So I decided to stop worrying and proudly welcome the new residents.
