Ch.339Fundamentalist Rebellion and Afghanistan

    # Iran, Tehran

Tehran, Iran, along with Baghdad in Iraq, has recently implemented various policies favoring Rome.

Originally, the Pahlavi reforms, known as the White Revolution, began in Iran and Iraq with the help of the Constantinople Treaty Organization, which made significant investments in both countries.

Particularly, foreign currency earned from oil was evenly invested across all social classes, accelerating the reduction of wealth inequality.

Oil nationalization was one of the first reforms to be implemented due to existing concerns.

Naturally, even food culture was heavily influenced.

“Is this the mint chocolate that Allah loves?”

“Well, hmm. Allah truly has different tastes than humans, to enjoy such food.”

“But if Allah commanded us to eat it, shouldn’t we obey?”

“You know, the more I eat it, this might not be so bad?”

“You actually find this tasty? Is something wrong with your taste buds?”

“How dare you! Are you questioning Allah?”

I couldn’t help but admire their reluctant consumption of mint chocolate.

“Perhaps becoming Allah to spread mint chocolate wouldn’t be such a bad idea.”

If I really thought about it, theocratic states weren’t unheard of throughout history.

There had been several instances where cult religions nearly took over countries.

Even in future Korea, some religion supposedly manipulated Japanese politicians behind the scenes.

    “That seems inappropriate, Your Majesty.”

    “Why, doesn’t it taste good?”

“No matter how you look at it, becoming Allah just to spread a food item seems wrong.”

No, that’s not right. While it might seem like just a meme, food culture spreads globally all the time.

Even in the original world, Korean food entered Japan as part of the Korean Wave.

Islamic followers couldn’t simply ignore the existence of Allah.

I was, after all, an immortal human.

An immortal human who existed in reality and personally came to save Iraq and Iran from the damage inflicted by Greek forces.

Of course, fundamentally, this was unacceptable.

How could someone bearing the cross of Russian Orthodoxy embrace Islam? Was this right?

No matter how much I wanted to deny it, opposing this would only make me an enemy of Allah.

Besides, what could one do against an immortal person?

Moreover, because they revered me as Allah, the Constantinople Treaty Organization was providing more support to Islam than to their home countries.

“The Tsarina Mother received God’s call early on and saved Russia, rescued Europe, and brought peace to East Asia. Now, as Allah’s messenger, she will bring tremendous prosperity and wealth to the Middle East.”

“This time, we will establish an educational agreement with the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation to accept volunteers regardless of social status from each country to study in various European nations. We will also build schools and universities throughout the Middle East and cooperate on welfare reforms.”

    Progressive reforms were being implemented.

In essence, they had begun establishing the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation.

It would become a region where Islamic and Hellenistic cultures coexisted.

    “Isn’t this approach too Western?”

“We must adopt Western advancements for Iran to progress.”

    The introduction of advanced civilization.

For a country like Iran, the adoption of Western civilization was necessary for survival.

Moreover, Pahlavi II was actively supportive, and the queen also considered herself European, making her favorable to this approach.

With my strange appearance as Allah, factions that wouldn’t have supported this in the original history had changed their stance.

“Are these the weapons of the Constantinople Treaty Organization?”

“No wonder they were defeated by the Greek forces.”

The Iranian military also began adopting the latest weapons.

When it comes to the military, weapons are essential.

Pahlavi II actively promoted weapons acquisition and supplied them to the military, making the military favorable toward him.

However, my influence was significant as many in the military had come to worship me.

    Of course, trouble eventually erupted.

No matter how supreme I might be, in this world, a rolling stone cannot displace a firmly embedded one.

    “Allah? That’s absurd!”

“Allahu Akbar! We cannot accept a false Allah!”

An Islamic fundamentalist rebellion had broken out.

“What was bound to happen has happened.”

The fortunate aspect was that they had revealed themselves prominently, allowing us to crush them and eliminate any future resurgence.

“Unless Your Majesty tours all regions and verifies yourself as Allah, it’s not surprising that this would happen.”

    “I suppose so.”

I couldn’t go around visiting each city risking being stabbed or shot.

“In this situation, why not declare the Constantinople Treaty forces as Allah’s army? If they defeat the rebels, wouldn’t that prove Your Majesty is the true Allah?”

Becoming the true Allah. Just hearing it makes my heart feel petty.

Let’s be clear. Me, a saint of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Emperor of Byzantium, as Allah?

That’s ridiculous. Sure, monotheism is fine. But perhaps due to my overgeneralized view of the Middle East in the future, the idea of becoming Allah feels repulsive.

Still, striking and retreating isn’t a bad strategy.

As your Allah, I will strike down those fundamentalists!

    “Indeed, that sounds plausible.”

Hmm, should I really try it? Unfortunately, their numbers weren’t very large.

That was expected. They hadn’t systematically built up enough strength to challenge the Constantinople Treaty Organization.

However, Pahlavi II seemed to consider this more serious than it was.

“Your Majesty, a rebellion has broken out.”

    “Yes, it has erupted.”

Ah, so it has erupted. Well, that’s to be expected.

Perhaps due to my casual response, Pahlavi II’s eyes widened.

“But aren’t you Allah? Don’t you have some solution?”

No, why are you turning to me? Act like a proper king. Have some self-respect.

While I might tolerate being called Allah for the sake of the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation, it’s a bit much to rely on me for rebellion matters.

“I simply don’t age and am immune to bombs and bullets. It’s problematic to elevate me too much as Allah.”

Why are you looking at me with such a dumbfounded expression?

Honestly, there’s nothing wrong with what I said, right? In fact, this could be an opportunity for Pahlavi II.

It’s a good chance to sweep away all opposition.

“Why not link the parliament with those fundamentalists? For instance, suggest that parliament is bringing in fundamentalists to overthrow the monarchy and destroy the Constantinople Treaty headquarters in Tehran. Isn’t that sufficient?”

    “With the fundamentalists?”

“Yes. The Islamic-Hellenistic Federation is already being delayed because of parliament.”

As I mentioned, not all Iranians revere me as Allah.

Naturally, the government is no different.

I heard that parliament is mainly clashing with Pahlavi II.

While Pahlavi II’s secret police are purging dissidents, there are likely still some malcontents remaining.

Forcing things through might lead to a surge of complaints later, which would be troublesome.

    “I see. That’s not a bad idea.”

Then, naturally fill the parliamentary seats with pro-Rome Islamic individuals.

Afterward, naturally make them support the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation.

If Afghanistan joins, the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation would essentially become our multi-state entity.

Since we’ve taken Saudi Arabian territory, we’ll possess an enormous amount of oil reserves.

The Middle East feels like a multi-resource colony acquired along the way.

Of course, that’s just a manner of speaking. The Middle East will likely become much more prosperous than before.

Westernized Islam due to the Constantinople Treaty Organization? Wow, that’s irresistible.

“The Iranian military should be sufficient to handle the rebellion, but I’ll go personally.”

    “Your Majesty?”

“They’re just a disorganized rabble, aren’t they? I should at least show the image of Allah leading the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation. Wouldn’t it be fitting for the king to accompany me?”

    That would have symbolic significance.

Allah and the Shah directly crushing the fundamentalists and ushering in a new era.

    Doesn’t that sound impressive?

    “That’s not a bad idea.”

The rebellion is merely an uprising in southern Tehran.

It will likely be known as the Islamic Fundamentalist Rebellion in the future. But a handful of rebels won’t be able to defeat us.

“Ah, tell Greece not to stand on pride and to finish their business and return until I deal with the rebels.”

    “Yes, Your Majesty.”

These Greek bastards are really taking their time.

I hope they’re not at war with Afghanistan.

    # Afghanistan, Panjshir

Greek Army Commander-in-Chief Papagos was in a dire situation.

Recently, Russian 3rd Army Commander Zhukov of the Constantinople Treaty forces had threatened him again.

-“What are you doing? Finish quickly! Hurry!”

    -“Quickly?”

-“We’re in a hurry now. There could be a world war because of Japan. Return quickly!”

    Return quickly from Afghanistan.

Papagos, obsessed with capturing the jewel that was Afghanistan, interpreted this as a command to quickly conquer and then return.

Kabul itself had long been occupied by Greek forces.

For Afghanistan, with its military dispersed due to the United States of Greater Russia above, this was expected. The Afghan government, seeing the precedent of Iraq and Iran, had promptly accepted the Islamic-Hellenistic Federation proposal.

Of course, only the central government controlling Kabul had accepted; the provinces were still holding out.

While the royal government had accepted, a coalition of Afghan warlords had established the Northern Islamic Alliance and entrenched themselves in Panjshir.

    “A fundamentalist rebellion in Iran?”

“Yes, we should finish by the time they suppress the Islamic fundamentalist rebellion.”

No, surely it can’t be that serious.

But what was certain was that the situation wasn’t good for Greece right now.

    “Where are we?”

“This is Panjshir. The Afghan forces are blocking us from above.”

Panjshir. Despite deploying tanks and missiles, they had failed to occupy it.

The terrain was terrible, and the enemy was firmly entrenched above.

Of course, their efforts weren’t entirely ineffective, but throwing dozens of stones to break one egg seemed like a significant waste.

“Tanks and missiles are… useless, as they said. Damn it. It’s all or nothing now. The fate of Greece rests on us! Advance to Panjshir immediately!”

The Russian Tsar’s patience had run out, so now it was all or nothing.

They had to ascend within the remaining time, regardless of the sacrifice.

“Damn it. What are they doing?”

    “Climbing Panjshir with bare hands?”

“We will cross Panjshir! We will occupy it! We are the mighty Hellenistic army!”

In fact, the Greek army had raised twice the planned 30,000 troops.

While Anastasia was winning hearts in Iraq and Iran, they had deployed pre-prepared reserves to Afghanistan.

Thus, Greek Commander-in-Chief Papagos launched a fierce assault on Panjshir with an army of 60,000.

“The whole world is watching us! Let’s follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great! Reclaim the territory of Hellenism!”

More precisely, he was worried about what orders might come from Moscow, but anyway.

The Greeks were now caught up in national pride.

Reclaiming Hellenism! The reclamation of Hellenistic territories by Greece, the true successor of Hellenism, not Islam!

They charged forward with only that dream.

“Restoration of Hellenistic territories! That is the aspiration of us Greeks!”

The Greek army began advancing madly toward Panjshir, while the Northern Alliance forces fiercely attacked them from the Panjshir Valley and mountains.

    “Shoot them all dead!”

But the Greek army never retreated.

They were on the verge of rebuilding Hellenism.

They had heard that Afghanistan was rich in resources. If they could finish off Panjshir and take all of Afghanistan, they could secure significant economic interests.

With only such thoughts, they advanced forward, sniping at the Northern Alliance forces in the valleys and mountains.

“Climb! Climb! We must show the Roman Emperor that Greece is most suitable for the reconstruction of Hellenism!”

The Greek army continued to climb steadily, disregarding the hail of bullets from the Northern forces in the highlands.

It was a taste of national pride they hadn’t experienced in a long time.

The mighty Neo-Hellenistic Army that defeated the Red Roman Army!

The Neo-Hellenistic Army was determined to sweep away those Islamic forces in the highlands to reclaim this land, once the territory of Alexander the Great!

    “Aaaaargh!”

    “You crazy bastards!”

Eventually, the Greek army engaged in infantry battles against the Northern Islamic Alliance forces throughout Panjshir.

“Damn it. Weapons. We’re out of weapons!”

Unfortunately, after successfully entering Panjshir, the Greek army fought fiercely against the Northern Alliance forces.

Initially, the exchange ratio was overwhelmingly unfavorable for Greece, but the Northern Alliance forces, numbering in the thousands and cut off from weapon supplies, began to retreat as the self-indoctrinated Hellenistic Imperial Army of Greece pushed forward.

“Occupy Panjshir no matter how many die! The resources of this Afghanistan, soaked in your blood, are ours!”

Due to Papagos’s intense determination not to be abandoned by the Roman Emperor, the Greek army finally succeeded in occupying Panjshir and began to take control of northern Afghanistan, after suffering 15,000 casualties while repelling the Northern Alliance.
