Ch.322317 – Whitelist
by fnovelpia
For Article 307 of the Criminal Code on defamation and Article 311 on insult to be established, they must have both public nature and specificity, and the object must be either a natural person or a legal entity.
In some foreign countries including the US and Germany, legal personhood has been granted to ASIs themselves.
This was to address financial crimes and fraud using ASIs that exploit unclear lines of responsibility.
However, Korean civil law still only treats ASIs as property owned by people.
So the other option is to claim rights as a “natural person,” but this wasn’t easy either.
A natural person under the law is described as a human born with a biological body, who breathes and performs metabolic activities.
According to this definition, Adela didn’t qualify as a natural person, but the existence of a brain map could become a contested issue.
“Adela is presumed to have the foundation to perform life activities unlike other ASIs. If this can be credibly proven in the brain map blueprint, she could be considered like a ‘locked-in syndrome’ patient who has consciousness but cannot respond to external stimuli due to full-body paralysis.”
Professor Cheon looked back and forth between his phone and me as he explained.
“Dad, were you always this knowledgeable about law?”
I asked in admiration at how smoothly he was providing this information.
Professor Cheon shook his head and showed me his text messages.
“My brother.”

[My experience getting sued by NoName (with proof)]
(Investigation Result Notice – Suspect/No Prosecution.jpg)
This is the no-prosecution notice I received last month.
Yes, I was that rumored person on NoName’s whitelist!
Fortunately, the plaintiff didn’t file an objection, so I was able to get out of it.
(Overwhelming gratitude image)
It really felt like I went to hell and back;;
Anyway, the reason I’m writing this now is because a friend of mine is about to be dragged into a formal trial and told me about it.
This guy is rich, so he brought big law firm attorneys just for one defamation case.
Well, it’s not just regular defamation but involves child protection laws and child abuse charges, so I guess that makes sense.
But he says he’s terrified because the plaintiff’s attorney is quite famous.
[Legal Representative: Attorney Cheon Jeong-ho]
Isn’t that the same name as Prosecutor Cheon who locked up all those Walpurgis guys?
I heard even his law firm attorneys thought it must be someone with the same name, but sure enough…

LMAO good luck with that!
So what’s the lesson in life?
(As long as it’s not me.gif)

-What did you say to NoName to get sued? You almost became human trash.
└ I insulted her for being too immersed in games, calling her a game addict with some swear words. Luckily my level of profanity was low so I was safe. I got lucky.
-Right, saying “SOB” is okay but “MF” will get you arrested.
└ Learning practical life tips today~
└ Just don’t leave malicious comments!
-If I remember correctly, weren’t you thrown under the bus because of NoName?
└ But why did you go after NoName in the first place? lol
└ She’s Uncle Name’s niece according to family records.
└ Whoa…!
-You truly never know what the future holds.
-I acknowledge your good connections.
Cheon Jeong-ho, who failed to reach the 9-card enhancement of becoming Prosecutor General, fell to being the family’s unemployed member.
His daughter went to study in America, and his son was busy as a medical student.
So it was essentially just the couple living together in the house.
As any Korean husband would understand, if you eat three meals a day at home all week, you’ll soon feel your wife’s murderous intent.
She doesn’t complain outright, but she doesn’t speak straightforwardly either.
“Why don’t you go out and exercise or something?”
Finally pushed by the pressure, Cheon Jeong-ho decided to take up some hobbies.
He joined a cycling club and even signed up for a gym membership, something he’d never done before.
Occasionally, when Cheon Kyu-jin would send him lists of NoName’s malicious commenters, he gladly took on the lawsuits, but it was nothing compared to his work at the prosecutor’s office.
The workaholic tendencies inherent in him didn’t disappear so easily.
There was no shortage of law firms calling him, so it was about time to rebuild his life as an attorney.
[Cheon Kyu-jin: Let’s work on something together.]

“You really scared me. I thought it was from my brother… Don’t play such pranks on adults.”
The culprit who ruined Cheon Jeong-ho’s once-promising career.
NoName had impersonated her father using Cheon Kyu-jin’s phone to text Cheon Jeong-ho.
The two meeting at a quiet café seemed rather awkward in the same frame.
“If I didn’t do this, you wouldn’t have come out. Prosecutor, you’re afraid of my dad.”
“Dad…?”
“Oh right. You’re not a prosecutor anymore.”
Veins bulged on Cheon Jeong-ho’s forehead.
‘I’m in this situation because of whom exactly?’
But he couldn’t genuinely get angry at a young child.
If they were to assign blame, NoName’s share would be zero, and the real villains were those hermits in meditation up there.
His eyes turned back to the documents in NoName’s hands.
“I heard you sued 1,000 of my malicious commenters? Thank you for your help.”
*shuffle*
NoName’s gaze was still on the documents.
Cheon Jeong-ho nodded and sipped his coffee.
“Your father has become completely daughter-obsessed. He’s always desperate to torment me.”
“You’re free anyway. Please spare a little more time.”
“So why did you call me here?”
“Obviously to seek legal advice. Don’t worry, I’m not asking you to examine my medical condition.”
NoName’s boldness made it impossible to scold her to her face.
Especially with her father, a combat mage, backing her, NoName was practically invincible.
“These are chat logs I received from Wearsoft. Would you like to take a look?”
NoName handed over the documents.
[I don’t perceive the past. I only remember it.]
[This is as far as I go. If you want to meet me, defeat Mephisto.]
“So? What’s Mephisto?”
“Mephistopheles is a boss mob in World of Arsheria. And this is the information obtained after defeating Mephisto.”
[Mephistopheles’ Memory – 100% (Complete!)]

“And this is the interpretation result.”
[35°38’20” N, 139°35’31” E]
[Seijo Mitsuke House, 4-chome 23-19, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Japan]
“Setagaya-ku…”
Cheon Jeong-ho’s eyes narrowed for a moment.
“I was the first to report it.”
“You, NoName?”
“Then this code is probably a distress signal… no, considering the time of the victim’s death, it doesn’t add up, so it could be testimony from the original entity that became an ASI, wouldn’t you say?”
After taking a moment to think, Cheon Jeong-ho spoke again.
“Hmm… What about the possibility that someone else used the ASI to make this revelation?”
He was asking about the possibility that someone with knowledge of this case manipulated the ASI for whistleblowing.
“It’s unlikely to be from Wearsoft’s side.”
“Why?”
“If that were the case, someone would have exposed it already. Wearsoft is currently preparing for their subsidiary’s IPO and wants to avoid any mention of their company. Why else would they kindly send me these chat logs? If there was anyone, it would be Ophelia, but…”
“That’s not possible either.”
“Right. With all their employees already in detention, if there was someone who actually did the coding, they would have used that to seek leniency.”
“So you’re saying the ASI really thought independently and did this? Hard to believe.”
“Even if that’s not true, making it true is our objective.”
“Our?”
NoName reached out and turned a page of the documents.
She tilted her head. Her calm eyes conveyed a coy smile.
“Aren’t you helping? It’s just a simple defamation and insult case. Compared to the cases you’ve handled as a prosecutor, this is really nothing. Oh right, you’re not a prosecutor anymore.”
NoName’s eyes curved like crescent moons as she twisted the knife again.
Cheon Jeong-ho took a deep breath and looked at NoName.
‘She’s not unaware of this lawsuit’s significance. Rather, she understands it perfectly.’
On the surface, it appeared to be a case that would merely fine journalists 500,000 won, but beneath that was a lawsuit seeking to obtain “inalienable rights.”
Moreover, there were numerous issues to contest.
‘The fact that the victim was unfairly sacrificed for ASI creation. The ASI’s independent logical thinking. Establishing the function of brain mapping and the legal philosophical perspective of artificial brains.’
What a situation where the side issues were bigger than the main one.
Cheon Jeong-ho sighed inwardly.
The judge assigned to this case would likely have quite a headache.
“It’s going to be a difficult journey.”
NoName snorted dismissively.
“Black people took 103 years from the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862 to gaining voting rights in 1965. If I was going to give up because it’s difficult, I wouldn’t have started.”
“You speak well.”
“Will you take the case?”
“Yes. But precedents always reflect changing times and shifts in general social perception. NoName, understand that things might not go as you wish.”
“If all else fails… I guess I’ll have to be prepared to commit a crime.”
“What?”
NoName smiled.
“Like… ‘Your Honor, I didn’t do it, my cat did!’ What are you doing, Attorney Cheon? You’re not a prosecutor anymore, so you have to defend me at this point. Don’t friendly fire.”
NoName was always more accustomed to living without laws.
Like Confucius, could she follow her heart without violating principles?
It was because there wasn’t a single person around who would stop her from breaking the law.
“Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that for now.”

Contrary to Cheon Jeong-ho’s concerns, public opinion was favorable.
[Artificial Intelligence’s Tears Shock the World. Person or Robot?]
-What kind of ASI test is this? lol These cult groups need to know their limits
-I guarantee 99% of humans couldn’t do that.
-Never thought I’d see an AI crying on its own.
-She’s really so pretty.
-Adela isn’t an AI but a cloned human. She just doesn’t have a body.
-Isn’t she just a person who lost her memories?
-Adela, don’t cry! We’ll protect you!
[Some Ophelia Executives Admit Charges, Is Wearsoft Not Responsible?]
-These bastards really took people and made NPCs, it’s so creepy;;
-If you outsource work, you should have someone supervising the outsourcing.
-Just an assembly factory ^^
-Look at them preparing for IPO with such thick skin lol Does the CEO not have a mouth?
-Then what about the Adela adult content on Hitomi or Pixiv?
-?
-?
“AAAAARGH! Sue them! Sue them all right now! I won’t let this slide! I don’t care about anything else, but NTR crosses the line!”
Adela was raging.
It was because she had become the subject of NTR in a comic featuring her.
“Is vanilla okay?”
NoName suddenly asked.
“That much I can tolerate.”
“What about GL?”
“Even that…”
“BL?”
“I’m a woman?”
“Oh? But here you’re clearly a man…”
“No, NoName sis, what are you doing! You’re not old enough for this! Close your eyes!”
