Ch.320I don’t understand what’s going on.
by fnovelpia
Six months ago, Kim Donghu became the unified WBC and WBA champion.
Even by boxer standards alone, his achievements were historically significant.
But what surrounded him wasn’t just “boxing.”
He’s only twenty-eight now.
Looking at his career highlights, he was the lead actor in the 4th highest-grossing film of all time.
Just mentioning a company would cause its stock to rise.
Posting a single casual photo on Instagram would sell out his entire outfit.
Kim Donghu had transcended being just an individual.
He had become a human trend leading the world.
Whatever he did became a trend.
Whatever he liked sold out.
A living luxury brand.
The number of people who liked Kim Donghu was growing endlessly.
And proportionally, those who disliked him were gradually emerging.
In this atmosphere, the UFC match was a stage where various emotions would explode.
ㄴThey say becoming disabled in UFC is nothing unusual
ㄴWait, but this is officially Kim Donghu’s first UFC match, is it right for him to face the heavyweight champion right away?
ㄴHe’s at that level, and besides, what should they do? Match him with contenders? Waste more time?
ㄴBut Zain Lance’s main stage is MMA, I wonder how he’ll handle it
UFC’s popularity was rising day by day.
People were well aware of the dangers of mixed martial arts.
That’s why some fans worried about Kim Donghu getting injured.
ㄴZain Lance is a really high-level boxler;
ㄴWhat’s a boxler?
ㄴSomeone who uses both boxing+wrestling, has no weaknesses
ㄴWhether it’s striking or ground game, just an OP character
ㄴPlus he does Muay Thai too, so he’s good with knees and elbows
ㄴLooking at it this way, Zain Lance is seriously OP
ㄴThis is the real deal, boxing just gets stomped in comparison
Despite Kim Donghu’s KO victory at 2 minutes 32 seconds in the 2nd round of their boxing match,
people still judged Zain Lance to be superior.
This was partly due to fate,
and partly because Zain Lance’s performance in UFC was truly incredible.
Just searching for UFC highlights would show:
“Zain Lance, Explosive Left Hand”
“Invisible Backspin Elbow, Zain Lance’s Hidden Card”
“Perfect Takedown? Once Caught, No Escape from Zain Lance’s Web”
“Suplex Delivered with Overwhelming Grip Strength, Get Caught and You’re Dead”
“Such Technique in UFC? →→→RP+RK! Just Shining, King Zain Lance!”
With Zain Lance videos flooding the internet,
ignoring expert opinions and just looking at public opinion,
it was inevitable that people would favor the more experienced Zain Lance.
ㄴStreet fighting is wrestling, pin someone to the ground and they’re done
ㄴYou need to close the distance to pin someone, you’ll get punched before that lol
ㄴThat’s why learning both is strongest
ㄴSo the strongest street fighter is a boxler?
ㄴㄴThe strongest street fighter is one who doesn’t fight, why even think about fighting? lol grow up
ㄴI wonder if Kim Donghu can handle takedowns
ㄴNo training videos available so…
Of course
ㄴSeriously, fooled once and still getting fooled again?
ㄴFact) Kim Donghu bet all-in on himself in the last match
There were fans who learned from history to avoid repeating mistakes.
But their numbers were few.
Because.
ㄴIt’s about time he finally loses one
ㄴRight, winning everything doesn’t make sense
ㄴHow long is he going to keep winning everything?
ㄴIt’s impossible, this doesn’t make sense
The theory that “it’s about time he loses” had spread throughout the community.
Since he had never failed since his debut,
people honestly just vaguely hoped
that Kim Donghu would fail.
And if he was going to fail, they wanted it to be big.
If big, then painfully so.
As they kept wishing for this,
it naturally flowed into the thinking that “it would be good if he gets crushed in UFC.”
But not everyone followed this flow.
Shaken at times but never broken.
Armed with absolute undefeated fan loyalty – “Kim Donghu Minor Gallery.”
This place still:
[Recently I’ve noticed trolls forgetting their ring-out losses and trying to talk trash]
-We’ll flip on you for real if we catch you
-Even if you delete your posts, the mods can see all deletion records
-Don’t struggle so pathetically
ㄴFact) The mod really took out a mortgage on his house to bet his entire fortune on Kim Donghu in the last boxing match
ㄴIs this for real?
ㄴㄴI simply bet the maximum amount allowed by law
ㄴThis guy really multiplied his bank balance by 2.83 thanks to Kim Donghu
ㄴWow, so Kim Donghu’s odds were almost 3:1
ㄴThat means a lot of people got baited~ lol
ㄴZain Lance’s odds were about 1.4, yeah the difference was huge
ㄴDraw odds were 15:1 lolololol
ㄴㄴAs if that would happen lolol
They showed unwavering faith in Kim Donghu.
So in conclusion:
Half supporting Kim Donghu.
Half supporting Zain Lance.
With this miraculous golden ratio achieved,
the day of the match finally arrived, and:
Waaaaaaaaah!!!
The wild cheers filled the arena and beyond,
echoing and shaking the surroundings.
+++++
A cauldron of excitement.
“I’ve never seen such a heated stage in my life!”
“It’s truly an honor to be able to broadcast such a match!”
“Ah, enough small talk, let’s go straight to the live coverage!”
A night of frenzy.
Who is the strongest human on earth?
Two fighters are about to reveal themselves in the octagon to determine that.
Naturally, the first to appear is:
“UFC Heavyweight Champion, a warrior seeking to write history like no other! Zain! Lance!”
Zain Lance, the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Waaaaaaaaah!
Starting with the thunderous cheers that erupted as soon as he appeared,
exciting music played as Zain Lance entered wearing a bright red, magnificent cape.
From the crown on his head,
to the champion belt around his waist.
Looking every bit the protagonist, the commentators eagerly added their explanations:
“That cape! That cape was custom-made by an international luxury brand!”
“Ah, the belt and… even the crown! Truly a million-dollar outfit.”
“He reminds me of an emperor. He may have lost in boxing, but the cage is his domain!”
“There’s so much at stake in this match! Having lost in boxing, he absolutely must win this!”
“Yes, just 6 months after, he could lose all his champion belts at once.”
I may have lost, but this is still my territory.
With that atmosphere, the commentators continued,
enthusiastically predicting Zain Lance’s victory, and:
Waaaaaaaaah!
Just as Zain Lance entered the cage and spread his arms to receive the cheers,
Thud.
Suddenly all the lights went out.
Boom!
The lights focused intensely on just one entrance.
In the darkened arena,
as eyes adjusted to the sudden brightness, what appeared was:
“Ba-Batman!”
“Bruce Wayne! Bruce Wayne!”
“It’s Batman! Batman!”
Kim Donghu in a suit—no, Batman.
After successfully completing his contract for the “Murciélago” series over the past 6 months,
Kim Donghu had obtained the full rights to use the suit personally.
Now, wearing the Batman suit, he slowly approached the cage, and:
“Aaaaaaaaaah!”
“Hand! Please shake my hand, Batman!”
“Aaaaaaah! Wak! Wak! Wak!”
The fans waiting along his entrance path experienced brain-melting levels of dopamine.
It was already great to see their favorite actor and fighter up close.
But on top of that, he was wearing the costume of the most popular hero at the moment?
And he was the actual actor?
Who wouldn’t love that?
Moreover:
“…I smell evil coming from you.”
As he delivered the ultimate fan service while looking at the fans:
“Ba-Batman saw me! He’s going to shoot me!”
“I won’t kill you… but.”
“I’ll hurt you… really… bad… ugh, ack, urk!”
“They collapsed! They collapsed! The person next to me collapsed from excitement!”
Fans weak to dopamine clutched their hearts and fainted on the spot.
Fainting from pure joy.
The result of seeing Batman up close.
“It’s you, donghujeailgeom.”
“K-Kim Donghu re-remembers… me…”
“Are you my Robin then?”
“Urk! Ack! Eek!”
“Another one! Another one collapsed!”
Since they had paid enormous ticket prices to see him,
naturally, as both an athlete and actor,
Kim Donghu delivered the ultimate service.
“If… if I work hard, can I become like you?”
“You don’t need to be like me, you’re already protecting your own life.”
“Donghu Kim! No, Bruce Wayne…!”
“Who’s that?”
“Batman, please shake my hand!”
“Only if you promise not to tell anyone you saw me.”
And so, one by one,
Giving high-fives,
Kim Donghu headed toward the cage, and:
“This is insane! This is crazy! This is Kim Donghu! This is Batman!”
“Indeed, indeed! The proud hero of South Korea! Bruce Wayne! Kim Donghu’s amazing fan service!”
“There are already more than five people being carried away!”
“He even gave a Batman badge to a child who came with their parents! This is truly insane!”
“The camera briefly caught the child crying with joy, this is amazing. This is Donghu Kim!”
“Ah, just before entering the cage! He’s removing the suit, revealing his original appearance!”
“As expected of Kim Donghu! He’s unbelievably handsome!”
The Korean commentators enthusiastically provided commentary with their feet up on the table, and:
Finally:
“Not scared to come to my house, huh?”
“The cage is your house? What a pitiful life.”
“Talking big while wearing that stupid suit.”
“I’m a hero, you know? I guess you wouldn’t understand, living in a cage.”
Zain Lance and Kim Donghu face off and exchange words.
A brief conversation.
And then, allowing no further dialogue:
Ding!
The clear bell sound.
The first round begins, and:
Whoosh!
Zain Lance’s low kick lands directly on Kim Donghu’s shin.
“Ah! There it is! The calf kick!”
“The devil’s kick! If it lands properly, you can’t use your leg at all!”
Just as the commentators were about to elaborate on the calf kick:
Thud!
Kim Donghu’s whip-like front leg:
Whoosh.
Not only kicks Zain Lance’s shin, but:
“…!”
Sweeps Zain Lance’s lower body, knocking him down.
Standing over the bewildered Zain Lance,
Kim Donghu continues with a deep smile:
“Who’s killing who? Want me to really kill you?”
I’m not wearing my Batman costume right now.
Can’t you read the situation?
