Ch.312America’s Choice

When I become Prime Minister, I suspect he’ll try to carry on my will in some misguided way. Oh well, whatever. He’ll figure things out on his own.

Anyway, looking at Alisa Rosenbaum now, I think she’ll do whatever I ask properly.

If I don’t like something later, I can always confront her about it.

“But you seem curious about something?”

She appeared to have something to say.

As I got up from my seat to take a leisurely stroll outside, Alisa Rosenbaum followed me with quick little steps like a chick following a mother hen. She seemed to have questions.

“I was just wondering about encouraging Israel to join the war. Wouldn’t the Balhae army or Japanese army be better in terms of military quality?”

That’s true. The Balhae army is quite strong.

After all, they were directly trained by the Russian army, and I heard that Lee Beom-seok was called the Korean Ungern, commanding armored units exceptionally well.

But Balhae would struggle to wage another war right now.

First of all, they were originally a colony. It takes time to run a country properly.

Of course, all a poor country can do is provide manpower, but that’s ultimately the limitation.

“In Balhae’s case, we’ve already compromised with weapon support instead of participation, and if we were to use the Western Japanese Army as support troops, the National Government would truly lose the mandate of heaven. Israel, on the other hand, has no connection whatsoever with China. Having their army as support wouldn’t be so bad.”

And if you ask whether the Western Japanese Army is strong, honestly, I’m not sure.

Of course, against China it might be sufficient, but would the already struggling National Government bring in Japanese troops as support? That would be interesting too, but then the National Government wouldn’t survive.

That would only give legitimacy to warlords who had none to begin with.

So, if neither Korea nor Japan will work, then Israel is the choice for the future.

I think it would be interesting if Israel took Shanghai. Something about Jews and Sinocentrism seems like they would clash?

Well, whatever. We have nothing to lose.

It’s land we’re going to give up anyway. What difference does it make if we hand it over to Israel?

“Looking at it that way, Israel is indeed the best choice.”

“Yes. This way, China will once again fail to have either side gain the upper hand.”

Even if the Israeli forces don’t work out, we’ll have to try a new approach. At that point, peacekeeping forces can step in.

Then, Japan will become the next issue.

“Won’t the Japanese civil war end faster than expected?”

    “Is that what you think?”

Alisa Rosenbaum also seems to think the civil war will end quickly.

I still consider the Japanese civil war a gamble.

While I do see the possibility that the civil war itself might end soon, Trotsky is involved, and the US has only made East Japan a puppet state rather than directly ruling it, so the US military doesn’t know every corner of East Japan.

Although Patton was quickly dispatched, can Patton really drive his tanks through all of Japan’s mountains?

When you put it that way, things could turn out differently.

“General Patton has proven himself quite capable during the KFC and our civil war.”

So our Alisa knows that much.

    “That’s true.”

Let’s consider the possibility of delays. Perhaps the US might focus on South America for a while, putting Japan on the back burner.

In that case, they might even abandon Japan.

In the worst-case scenario, there’s the Ezo Republic, and we originally said we wouldn’t covet East Japan anyway. The US could always punish Japan again later.

This means they might attack Argentina in South America first. Humanly speaking, isn’t Argentina more important than East Japan right now?

“And what about looking into areas for Black migration? You came here because you have a lot to say about the Duma or the Rome Treaty Organization, right?”

“That will be handled at the Rome Treaty Organization headquarters. I heard Churchill is encouraging Black migration to India and China.”

    “Is that so?”

She must have thought I was really going to hand over the Falklands.

Even if we offered the Falklands, Britain wouldn’t allow it. That’s the reality—we can’t give it if Britain objects.

Still, since Greenland was recently transferred to the US, opening up possibilities… I think Churchill might have been inspired by that.

So he probably worked hard to prevent that possibility. I didn’t have any particular thoughts on it, but I’m glad he took the initiative.

Hey, how nice would it be if everyone just handled things like Churchill does?

“Yes. It seems India is bringing them in due to labor shortages, and the Chinese warlords agreed on the condition that weapons wouldn’t be sold to the National Government.”

Labor shortage? Hmm, that’s something both India and China could consider.

“For India, it’s practically free, and these are perfectly acceptable conditions.”

This is something we can accept.

India probably has a large population like China, but with the country completely divided now, there’s also the matter of each faction wanting to increase their numbers.

This means Africa will be run as stably as possible in the future.

The map will look messy, so governance should be unified under one color.

“And it’s just as Your Majesty said.”

    “What is?”

What could be according to what I said?

The only thing that comes to mind is Argentina. Ah, could it be Argentina?

“We received word from the treaty fleet handling transportation to Argentina that suddenly transport ships were either seized by Black people or mysteriously sank.”

As expected, my intuition was spot on. Sudden sinking or death.

Unless you’re an idiot, you can understand what this means, right?

“I suppose the transport ships seized by Black people were all killed by the Argentine navy.”

The Atlantic fish must have feasted.

This part deserves high praise from me.

It seems Eva Perón has done something crazy that even I couldn’t have thought of.

This way, they’ll minimize sending Black people. And Eva Perón herself will see blood as she tries to remake Argentina.

Yes, that’s what would happen if her approval ratings drop.

“Still, there’s nothing we can do about our transport ships, so her approval ratings will drop.”

The current Eva Perón will likely do something to recover those approval ratings.

I’ll have to wait and see what that might be.

I was thinking it was about time for something to explode.

“About that issue, I heard the Argentine military was recently purged.”

The military was recently purged? This seems strange, ‘purged the military that opposed Eva Perón.’

Why does this remind me of Hitler purging those who opposed him?

With Nazi Hitler gone, is Eva Perón becoming the Hitler substitute here?

But even so, it’s just South America, right? There should be limits to what can be done there, and the US wouldn’t want to sit by and watch its territory acting out of line.

    Well, they’ll handle it themselves.

I just hope Eva Perón doesn’t come to me later saying “Waaah, Anaemong” and asking for support.

Seriously, I’ll only allow weapons at most. I wonder if Eva Perón will eventually have statues like Goebbels.

Suddenly, I turned my eyes toward where the skyscraper was being built, and since construction was in full swing, various things were being installed, visible from a distance.

“The skyscraper is starting to take shape.”

I quite like that, I must say.

“Yes. It should be built soon. Your Majesty’s goddess statue has also been specifically positioned. This is how it will be created.”

Like a Mother Homeland statue, no, even more sacred, majestic, and benevolent, with a laurel crown on her head.

It would be quite funny if people knew that this great woman was actually a man in a previous life who wore hoodies and farmed in a post-nuclear war world.

“When this skyscraper is successfully built, I’ll award medals and other honors to the workers who participated in the construction and that French designer who created the plans.”

The skyscraper will be quite magnificent when it’s built.

Whether it will be on par with the Statue of Liberty, I’m not sure, but still.

“Yes, I will see to it.”

“For now, we just need to watch and wait.”

For the time being, we can just enjoy watching that skyscraper being built.

In about five years, won’t the Rome Treaty be completely integrated to the point where borders become meaningless?

There’s a document that came up from the Rome Treaty Organization headquarters.

The Rome Integration Policy to quell post-decolonization chaos and integrate Europe over the next 10 years.

Until then, we are in a time of integration. It’s time to spend Europe’s decade.

    * * *

For a while, the Rome Treaty Organization focused on internal integration rather than external affairs.

Germany and the Danube Federation completed post-war reconstruction, decolonization was completed, economic integration was achieved, and politics were unified under the Rome Treaty Organization headquarters.

Military uniforms were standardized in the same color, with designs created by Hitler, who had now passed the Prime Minister position to Göring.

Railways were connected from Lisbon, Portugal, through Spain and France, all the way to Moscow, and there were plans to connect the English Channel—no, the British Channel—to Normandy via an underwater tunnel.

While the Rome Treaty was busy unifying Europe, the situations in India, China, Japan, and South America were serious.

In India, there were signs of civil war within the Bharat Republic, and other countries also showed signs of conflict.

As a result, each Indian nation received infrastructure support from the Rome Treaty in exchange for accepting Black people.

India was already overflowing with population anyway.

They believed that if they could develop their countries, adding some Black population wouldn’t matter.

    Meanwhile, in China…

“We already have Korea to worry about, we need to stop the Rome Treaty from acting like merchants.”

“Conscripting Black people wouldn’t be a bad idea either.”

Initially, the warlord coalition thought the battle against the National Government would be easy after they defeated General Tang Shengzhi’s National Army.

However, the battle against the National Government had solidified due to Israel’s participation and Balhae’s weapons sales.

Israel’s army was only 20,000 strong, but their combat effectiveness was not to be underestimated.

The warlord armies, which essentially fought with human wave tactics like during the Sino-Japanese War, died miserably before the high-quality Israeli forces.

With the National Government also deploying troops brought from the border with Qing, the situation became truly deadlocked.

    But that was it.

Neither side could gain the upper hand, and the war continued for years, washing blood with blood. The Israeli forces also caused all sorts of trouble in National Government territory, justifying it as a holy war.

The National Government couldn’t remove the Israeli forces because they fought so well, so they reluctantly tolerated some of the misconduct happening in their country.

Meanwhile, in Argentina, an event later to be named “Night of the Sun” occurred, where the military was purged under the pretext that a new sun was rising.

    “Cough! Why us?!”

“You opposed us at every turn. So you must die.”

Influenced by Anastasia and feeling strong pressure from the prediction of an early death, Eva Perón took care of her health while quickly proceeding with the military purge.

Afterward, through the Rome Treaty’s military advisory group, she strongly armed the Argentine military, built up its quality, and raised its training level.

She also placed missiles in the border region with Brazil, and Brazil in turn organized its military with US support.

Eva Perón, undeterred by Brazil’s moves, helped her husband establish the South American Cooperation Organization and demanded that Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, and other South American countries join.

“Our Argentina has learned much from the Rome Treaty Organization, and I, Eva Perón, am so close to the Russian Tsar that I call Her Majesty ‘sister’ in private. My husband and I are trying to create an organization for South America like the Rome Treaty, following the Tsar’s example. I ask for the cooperation of South American nations.”

Though her words sounded plausible, it was essentially a threat: “We might have the Rome Treaty Organization behind us.”

This happened while the US was tied up in Japan.

As the South American continent was thus engulfed in the winds of war, Japan’s situation also took a strange turn.

    “What? Military support is difficult?”

Patton laughed bitterly at the news that felt like a slap to the back of his head.

“Yes. It seems the homeland is more concerned about South America. But they said they would still provide weapons, so shouldn’t we be satisfied with the current situation for now?”

Be satisfied with the current situation? Patton mockingly laughed at MacArthur across the Pacific.

Did he not understand the situation here at all?

“What, just leave the Reds alone? Our best option now is defense? Shouldn’t we deal with these guys quickly so we can fix these Japs?”

We need to catch and kill these Japs who still haven’t come to their senses and fix them all.

“Unfortunately, the homeland doesn’t seem to understand the danger.”

    “Ha, damn it.”

Patton threw down his helmet in frustration and scratched his head vigorously.

Patton would have preferred to finish the job with the current troops if possible, but things weren’t going that smoothly.

Sure, their forces were limited, but the Jap Reds were growing in number every day.

That’s what the Reds were like. If you didn’t crush them right at the beginning, they would grow every day and eventually become powerful enough to overthrow the government.

And they were going to leave those cockroaches alone?

“So what does the great MacArthur think?”

No matter how you look at it, isn’t he making a bad judgment?

Crushing the Reds should be the goal of the United States, but now they’re going to be tied up in South America?
