Meanwhile, I was busy suppressing those Kraken-level perverts by slapping each with a 15-day community ban.

    While gathering resources, rebuilding the fleet, and working haaaard to normalize the gallery, I came to one very important realization.

    ‘This won’t work.’

    Specifically, my original goal of conquering Tannhäuser would be impossible with just 4 times the mercenary force.

    Of course, unlike Avalon, Tannhäuser is a stronghold 2 levels higher, so naturally it would require more fleets…

    ‘But wait, it took about 50,000 mercenary ships to take a level 5, so multiplied by 4 would be 200,000 ships. Shouldn’t that be enough?’

    That was my fundamental thinking.

    ‘…I too once thought that way.’

    The reason I suddenly changed direction wasn’t just because of my delusions.

    There were two incidents that significantly influenced my change of mind.

    First, there was an internal matter, you could say.

    Something that made me change my thinking.

    Some truly unfortunate news was delivered to me through Jessica.

    And what was this news…

    “Commander, Commander.”

    “…Yes?”

    “The staff at the Strategy and Tactics Research Institute analyzed it thoroughly, and they say our current forces aren’t enough to attack the Tannhäuser Gateway Fortress.”

    “What.”

    That’s right.

    The NPCs assigned to the newly built <Strategy and Tactics Research Institute> ran simulations on their super computer.

    They concluded that my grand plan of ‘Devouring Tannhäuser and Living Happily Ever After’ project was impossible.

    But of course, would I just sit quietly after hearing that?

    “What are you saying, Jessi-Jessi?”

    “Hmm.”

    “Ratten Water Clan and Magellan Clan crushed it with fewer than 400 users, not even at full strength.”

    “That’s true, but…”

    “That’s why I’m gathering resources and rebuilding the fleet to deploy an even larger force.”

    “I suppose so.”

    When I immediately objected, Jessica nodded.

    But she still pushed forward the data sent by the Strategy and Tactics Research Institute guys, suggesting I take a look.

    Of course, the data was filled with all kinds of forms, graphs, and various complex, high-level technical terms typical of smart people, making it impossible to read…

    Fortunately, as soon as I received the document, an event message explanation appeared before my eyes.

    —————————————-

    <Event>

    <It seems you’re headed for a sad ending!>

    <Content>

    <The newly constructed ‘Strategy and Tactics Research Institute’ attempted to determine the optimal outcome for your goal of conquering ‘Tannhäuser Gateway Fortress’.>

    <Unfortunately, despite running simulations multiple times,>

    <The result always came back as ‘failure’ even when deploying ‘the maximum force the Commander can currently mobilize’.>

    <Of course, things would be different if more troops could be deployed,>

    <But since it’s realistically difficult for you to mobilize additional forces, they’ve drawn a line stating that your current goal is ‘impossible’.>

    —————————————-

    “Ah.”

    “See?”

    It was basically saying ‘This is impossible, good luck’ and driving the nail in the coffin.

    Then, while that was happening internally, there was also something shocking from the outside.

    Namely…

    No need for other words

    Just want to taste some sweet honey by taking a level 7 stronghold with Central Zone users

    <Temporary Clan Chat Room Link>

    If you want to join, follow the link and inquire, accepting everyone

    Already gathered about 400 people, planning to go when we reach about 1,000

    Oh, and we created a temporary clan to avoid team kills during stronghold battles, so if you’re already in a clan, you’ll need to leave it temporarily to join

    -[Oh what’s this]

    Quite unexpectedly, other users were attempting to conquer Tannhäuser before I could.

    There were many complicated processes involved… but to summarize, I witnessed their utterly miserable failure in real time.

    With nearly triple the number of users compared to Tungusca, and a fleet with around 1 million fleet points deployed, they still failed.

    So I had no choice but to throw away my previous thinking.

    The idea that ‘If I combine 4 times the mercenary force and all my fleets, I’d have about 340,000-350,000 fleet points, which should be enough to crush it’ had to be discarded.

    But contrary to Icarus’s thoughts, the situation was considerably more complex.

    Title: Wasn’t Tungusca just hard-carried by Ratten Water?

    Content: [Gallery situation during Tungusca’s fall.jpg]

    It was a super elite clan with over 80 users ranked in the top 1,000, while Magellan Clan’s 300 members acted as meat shields for tanking

    To be honest, during Ratten Water’s prime, they could achieve a 1:3 ratio even without Icarus-style one-man quantity warfare

    And since fortress defense fleets can’t concentrate firepower across the entire fleet due to physical limitations, they exploited that by moving around freely and crushing them

    So it was a combination of hundreds of users willing to sacrifice their fleets + dozens of top users rampaging while accepting damage, but even then 90% of Ratten Water’s fleet was gone by the time Tungusca’s fleet was destroyed

    And afterward, the remaining defensive facilities and surviving fleet damaged Magellan Clan’s main force even more

    So can they really conquer it now with a temporary clan that has no teamwork except for the system preventing friendly fire?

    Content: Is the force trying to take Tannhäuser really comparable to the one that took Tungusca?

    Sure, the force that destroyed Tungusca’s defense fleet was fewer than 400 people

    But isn’t it dangerous to try to capture a level 7 stronghold with just about a thousand people?

    Comments:

    -[For real]

    As evident from the reactions of other gallery users.

    The fall of Tungusca happened because Ratten Water and Magellan joined forces.

    The veteran clan Ratten Water tore apart and killed the NPC fleet.

    And despite their backstabbing, Magellan Clan abandoned stronghold defense and brought their entire fleet to deliver additional blows.

    Apart from that…

    Since they said they’d create a “temporary clan” to attack the stronghold,

    People were lining up to criticize them, asking why they spent over a week destroying a clan if they were going to do the same thing.
