Ch.30Idiots Trio (5)
by fnovelpia
As I’ve said before, everyone has at least one embarrassing moment in their past. Anyway, everyone knows the pain of having others discover your embarrassing history.
It’s mortifying enough when just an acquaintance discovers your embarrassing past, but what if your embarrassing history appeared on the news for public execution? What would happen then?
Obviously, you’d probably try to jump into the Han River. How do I know? The fact that I’m trying to jump into that river right now is proof.
“If you jump in there, you’ll really die!”
“I know. So would you mind letting go of me?”
“Calm down! You still have so much life ahead of you! Does it make sense to commit suicide over just one embarrassing moment?”
“Of course it does. So I’d really appreciate it if you’d let go now.”
Just one more step and I could escape this horrible embarrassment. But right now, Ju-an is desperately trying to stop me.
Why am I always surrounded by people who interfere with my happiness?
***
As the sunset settles over the riverside, the world turns red. I fall into a longing to become like that beautiful sunset.
If only I could settle by the riverside like that sunset, I’m convinced I could end the rest of my life happily.
“So would you mind letting go now? My wrist is starting to hurt.”
“If I let go, you’ll jump straight into the river…”
“No, I just want to be with that sunset.”
“How is that any different from wanting to die?”
“I don’t know. Anyway, please let go now.”
“No way.”
While I remained shackled, the sunset was gradually being swallowed by the riverside.
***
Only after the sun had set and night had completely fallen did my sense of shame somewhat diminish. Thanks to that, my desire to die completely disappeared.
Still, I’m incredibly embarrassed. I’m seriously never using emotions as bullets again…
“My wrist hurts, so please let go.”
“Promise you won’t commit suicide.”
“I won’t, so please just let go already.”
Finally, Ju-an’s hand that had been tightly gripping my wrist disappeared. Then I saw a dark blue bruise.
This really hurts like hell. How hard did he grip it to leave a bruise?
I showed him my wrist with a disgruntled tone and complained.
“I’m grateful you stopped me from committing suicide, but don’t you think this is a bit much?”
“…Sorry.”
“I need to go grocery shopping today, and now this happens…”
My body is already weak, making it difficult to carry things, and now I have a bruise on my wrist. It’s practically impossible to carry anything in this state.
Still, I can’t just blame Ju-an outright. After all, I was the one who acted like an idiot, so how could I blame someone else?
“Then should I carry your groceries for you?”
“No, I can go shopping later.”
“It’s partly my fault your wrist is like that, so I’ll just carry them for you.”
“Then I’m going to buy a lot of groceries, so don’t complain later.”
Since Ju-an offered to carry them for free, I should buy much more than usual.
I should buy enough so I don’t have to go grocery shopping for a few weeks.
***
I never understood why they protect the portrait rights of criminals. But now I understand why.
The reason I’m suddenly saying this is because of the conversations I overheard from people while shopping at the nearby mart.
“Mom! That’s the lady who was on TV!”
“Shh! Be quiet before we get involved!”
“Poor young woman… tsk.”
“The man next to her is pitiful…”
“Such a waste of a pretty face.”
Is there no such thing as portrait rights in this damn world? Why did they show everything in real-time?
Thanks to that, my face is turning bright red for no reason.
“Min-jun? Are you okay?”
“I’m so embarrassed I want to commit suicide right now…”
While continuing to shop and regretting my past actions, I felt a certain gaze.
This isn’t just a gaze of curiosity. It’s clearly filled with malice.
What did I do wrong… well, I did do a lot wrong.
Anyway, the owner of that gaze appeared before us.
“Ju-an? Didn’t you say you’d be back soon?”
The source of that gaze was the orange-haired woman I’d seen before.
“Sorry. I ended up being late.”
“You said you were busy preparing to defeat the Demon King, but you have time to play with this girl?”
“…I’ll really focus on training starting tomorrow.”
“So that means you won’t meet this girl from tomorrow, right?”
“She’s still my friend, so I’ll probably meet her occasionally…”
“Didn’t you say you’d focus on training?”
It seems like Ju-an and that orange-haired woman are having a lovers’ quarrel. I can’t miss such an interesting spectacle!
As I continued to watch, somehow the sparks flew in my direction too.
“And she seems really weird too. You saw her on the news, didn’t you?”
“That was because of unavoidable circumstances…”
“What kind of circumstances would make someone do something so stupid?”
Suddenly I was being criticized too. If they’re going to fight, they should fight among themselves, so why involve me?
Plus, this person brought up the embarrassing incident that happened to me today. I’m so angry I can’t just stay quiet.
“Excuse me, but who are you to be treating us like this?”
“I’m a colleague, so I’m interfering. Is there a problem with that?”
“We’ve been friends for 12 years, you know?”
No matter how much of a colleague she claims to be, they’ve only known each other for a week. Can such a person beat a friend of 12 years?
Realizing this fact, the orange-haired woman’s face twisted slightly. I’m going to completely distort that face.
“What’s the problem with friends hanging out anyway?”
“What if your actions hinder Ju-an and affect his ability to defeat the Demon King in the future?”
“I’ve never hindered Ju-an once. If anything, I’ve helped him many more times.”
“And you call this helping Ju-an?”
“I sacrificed my lifespan to save Ju-an before. What were you doing then?”
“…”
“And do you know why the Goddess sent me to this world? I came for the same reason as Ju-an—to defeat the Demon King.”
The orange-haired woman’s expression completely twisted. Now just one final blow will be enough.
“How many times have you helped Ju-an? No, how many times have you hindered him?”
In the end, the orange-haired woman couldn’t bear it and ran out of the mart, sobbing.
In these situations, the first person to speak loses. Remember that next time.
As I stood there triumphantly, Ju-an said anxiously:
“Don’t you think that was a bit too harsh?”
“…Oh.”
Thinking about it, I just unleashed a tirade on what could be Ju-an’s future bride.
My words might even cause their relationship to deteriorate in the future.
…I guess a perfect bride candidate should be able to overcome this level of trial, I don’t know.
“I’ll have to talk to Philax when I get back…”
Ju-an sighed as he spoke.
Still, they’ll probably work it out somehow. After all, it was that girl’s fault for picking a fight first.
***
When we returned home after shopping, I ran into Agath in the elevator.
“Where have you been?”
“Just went to take some photos.”
“What kind of photos?”
“Photos of a bitch in heat seducing a male.”
Agath said, looking at her camera with satisfaction.
Roughly translating those words, it seems Agath went to the zoo to take pictures.
“Today was really the best… especially the way she tried to drive away other females, showing the perfect essence of a female…”
“…Do they show that kind of thing at the zoo?”
“This was taken on the street, you know?”
“…You took that camera out just to photograph animals on the street?”
“Of course.”
I simply cannot understand Agath’s mental state. And I probably never will.
When we entered the house, I saw the kitchen on fire and Leo trying to extinguish the flames by creating water with magic.
“What do you have to do to set the kitchen on fire while heating up milk!”
“I don’t know either.”
“If you don’t know, who would!”
“Good question?”
“You crazy woman!”
And Leo’s scream filled with anger echoed.
…What happened this time?
***
The fire was successfully extinguished. It was perfect teamwork—Ju-an stopped time, and during that pause, Leo put out the fire.
Then Leo said to Ju-an with a refreshed face:
“Thanks, thanks to you my research books are safe.”
“But is it okay that the kitchen ended up like this?”
“As long as everything related to magic is intact, I don’t care if this house explodes.”
“…I see.”
Leaving Ju-an talking with Leo, I went to check the state of the kitchen.
“Why is everything here so intact?”
Everything is fine except for the burn marks on the floor and walls. Even the plates maintain their original state.
“I had put protective magic on the entire house, so it’s mostly fine.”
“Then why did that plate melt?”
“…Everyone makes mistakes in life. And I am also human.”
We lost one plate, but that doesn’t affect cooking at all. Now I should make dinner.
Since we have a lot of ingredients now, should I put in some extra effort today?
“Ju-an, just put the groceries here. I’ll organize them.”
While organizing the ingredients in the refrigerator, Agath suddenly made a creepy suggestion to Ju-an.
“Are you just going to leave? Since you’re here, why not stay for dinner?”
“Would that be okay?”
“Of course. Now you can just wait in the living room while Lite makes dinner.”
Last time, Ju-an ate at least seven portions…
Looks like I’ll be cooking until bedtime. Why is my life so tragic?
***
I stood cooking for two hours straight. And with this pathetically weak body!
Thanks to sacrificing myself, the table is now filled with a feast. Seeing it, Agath drooled and said:
“Did you put in extra effort because your husband is here today?”
“I’m really tired right now, so please stop joking…”
“I’m always serious though?”
“Be quiet before I take away your bowl…”
Thanks to my threat, Agath became as quiet as a mouse. Now we can finally have a peaceful dinner.
In the middle of enjoying the meal, Ju-an said admiringly:
“Were you always this good at cooking? I remember it wasn’t this good before.”
“When you cook morning and night every day, your skills improve.”
I can’t even sleep in and have to get up early to prepare breakfast, and when I come home in the evening, I can’t rest right away but have to work more.
If I changed my profession to housekeeper, I could probably make a fortune.
At least serving other people would be much easier than serving these crazy people. Is there really no one who wants to take me away…
Is it that hard to find a rich, kind, and pretty wife?
…Actually, that is an incredibly difficult task.
After finishing dinner and washing the dishes, I went to my room to rest, and there was Ju-an.
“Aren’t you going home?”
“Well… the knight told me to stay overnight…”
For some reason, Agath is being overly kind to Ju-an. Does Agath have feelings for Ju-an too?
…If she did, she would have pounced on him right away.
Anyway, it’s been a while since we slept together like this, it feels like we’re back in middle school.
Thinking that, I was about to change into comfortable clothes when suddenly Ju-an quickly turned his head and shouted:
“What are you doing!”
“Changing clothes.”
“Why are you changing here!”
“Should I go to the living room to change?”
Leaving behind the embarrassed Ju-an, I changed into comfortable clothes.
Then Ju-an, with a bright red face, said:
“…You know your body is female now, right?”
“Yes. Why?”
“Knowing that, is it okay to act like that in front of the opposite sex?”
“I’m only doing this because it’s you. Since we don’t see each other as the opposite sex, it doesn’t matter.”
This can be proven by what Ju-an said at the Chinese restaurant. I can only do this because it’s him; I definitely couldn’t do this with anyone else.
Ju-an might be embarrassed because he’s awkward with these things, but that’s not my problem.
If he’s jealous, he should experience TS himself and then change clothes in front of me.
Anyway, I can finally rest comfortably now. Time to relax to the fullest!
