Ch.305Chapter 305 – The Heavenly Demon Supports in His Own Way
by fnovelpia
Today, another peaceful day at Glesius Academy. With less than a month remaining until the new semester begins, academy staff and professors can be seen busily moving about.
If there’s anyone who’s most at ease in this place, it’s probably me. That’s because I’m someone who’s free from all exams, assignments, and attendance requirements.
I remember originally coming here with the sole intention of meeting the heroines from “Erasto Chronicle,” a game I used to enjoy playing.
The irony is that now I’ve ended up meeting more people who aren’t heroines from Erasto Chronicle than those who are.
Actually, if I think about it, there was only one reason why I wanted to meet the heroines of Erasto Chronicle.
I wanted to help them grow so they could defeat the threats to this world and create a peaceful world.
That’s right, the truth is I just wanted to see the game characters in person. The goal of making the world peaceful came later.
Anyway, I feel like I’m living in a very peaceful world now. In a way, it’s because we’ve defeated the Demon God, who could be considered the final boss of the Erasto Chronicle game.
In other words, from my perspective, this world is currently progressing through what would be the post-final boss storyline.
“In the end, Mina is the only heroine I’ve met since coming to this world.”
Ah, come to think of it, there’s also Serin Ekatos and Eterna, right? My brain seems to be getting duller from lack of use lately.
I guess people really do need to use their brains? That’s the thought that begins my day.
Perhaps because it’s the last bit of time before school starts, more students than usual visited the repair shop today.
“There are more visitors than usual today. Is something going on?”
“It’s because a new evaluation has suddenly been added starting this year, sir.”
“Evaluation? I think I need an explanation.”
A new evaluation has been added? I haven’t heard about this… though thinking about it, there’s no reason why I should know.
If it were truly important, Sister Regina would have told me, but since she didn’t, it probably doesn’t concern me.
“Yes, Lord Marquis. Starting this year, all students, including freshmen, are prohibited from repairing their equipment for the first month after the semester begins.”
Prohibiting equipment repairs for a whole month? Why? This new policy raised questions for me.
“According to the academy, constantly relying on skilled repairers reduces one’s ability to handle crisis situations in real combat. So they changed the policy to evaluate students’ ability to deal with equipment durability consumption.”
Hmm, if that’s the reason, I agree. It’s not like I have the ability to live infinitely for thousands or tens of thousands of years.
If I became a master who transcended human limitations like Sister Regina or Cheon Hyeryeong, I could live a long life.
But as I am now, no matter how hard I try, I’ll only live to about 80 years at most.
Though lately, I’ve been feeling that I probably won’t die after such a short life.
But how long will that last? My existence has a finite lifespan, and the time I can live is limited.
So all I can do is live as diligently as possible during my finite lifetime.
By the time I close the repair shop that opened early in the morning, the sun is already beginning to hide behind the mountains.
“Today was another fulfilling day.”
Thanks to the students who are training hard before school starts to understand their equipment’s limitations, the repair shop is packed every day.
Because of this, I’ve been busy every day lately. Well, being busy just means I keep hammering away.
“This will only last for this year and next year, then it’s over.”
Of course, this is only possible while I’m enrolled at the academy. After graduation, I’ll have to open my own shop and receive customers.
But at least my shop won’t be empty with only flies buzzing around. That’s because I can do things others can’t.
“The fact that I’m thinking like this means I must be living comfortably now.”
This kind of life isn’t so bad. It means that for the first time in both my previous life and this one, things have settled down enough for me to feel at ease.
However, I can’t completely relax… While the demon cult has disappeared and the Demon God has been destroyed, I’m not sure what happened to the demon race.
‘Did they vanish too?’
The most likely possibility is that the demon race also vanished. But since I haven’t confirmed this myself, it’s dangerous to rely on mere speculation.
‘Should I visit the temple?’
At times like this, wouldn’t it be faster to ask Epitrina? She is a great goddess, so she might know something.
While I was lost in thought, the door to the repair shop opened and Cheon Hyeryeong entered.
“My husband, what were you doing?”
“Ah, Hyeryeong. I was just about to close up the shop and head home.”
“Then this is perfect timing. I actually had something to propose to you.”
“A proposal?”
This is the first time Cheon Hyeryeong has proposed something to me first. Curious about what she wanted to say, I quickly tidied up the shop and went home.
“What I want to propose to you is nothing other than learning martial arts. How about it?”
“Martial arts?”
“Yes. In my view, you should start diligently learning martial arts from now on.”
“Why?”
With the Demon God gone and the demon cult mostly dealt with, why would I need to learn martial arts now?
“My husband, did you think you could satisfy all of us in your current state?”
The moment I heard her words, I realized something. Marriage doesn’t end with the wedding; married life is also part of marriage.
It’s not that I hadn’t thought about it, but before the Demon God disappeared, I had to focus all my attention on defeating him, so I couldn’t pay attention to this.
‘Wait a minute.’
Does this mean I have to handle three people by myself? And there might be more added?
‘I really will be squeezed dry if I don’t learn martial arts.’
Am I about to experience what it’s like to have every last drop wrung out of me like a dried squid? Fear creeps through my entire body.
“Um, I’m asking this seriously… if I learn martial arts, will I be able to handle multiple people?”
“Of course. The martial art I will teach you is the Heavenly Demon Divine Art. Since your physique isn’t suitable for learning martial arts meant for fighting others, I plan to teach you arts that will strengthen your body and reinforce your yang energy.”
I could only nod at Cheon Hyeryeong’s words. She knows more about martial arts than I do, so she would know better what kind of martial art my body needs.
“Don’t worry, my husband. It’s entirely possible. The Heavenly Demon Divine Art is an unparalleled martial art that no other can match. If you learn and master it, you will be able to handle even ten thousand people.”
I’m slightly skeptical about being able to handle ten thousand people, but my counterpart is the Heavenly Demon who has mastered this art to its peak.
Someone like that wouldn’t understate the power of their own martial art, would they?
“Ten thousand people seems a bit exaggerated, but I’ll believe you since the Heavenly Demon wouldn’t lie.”
“Hahaha! You’ve thought well. I have never taught the Heavenly Demon Divine Art to anyone. But I will teach you according to the method passed down from the previous Heavenly Demon, and if you follow along, your body will become as indestructible as diamond.”
Suddenly, she tucked me under her arm.
“Now! Since we’ve brought it up, let’s start training right away!”
“Eh?”
Before I could say anything, she had already dragged me to a mountaintop.
“Where is this? It’s a bit cold.”
“This is the mountaintop where I trained in the Heavenly Demon Divine Art. This place contains more heavenly energy than other places, making it beneficial for training in the Heavenly Demon Divine Art. Now, just sit comfortably on the ground. The Heavenly Demon Divine Art allows you to circulate internal energy without being restricted by posture.”
Following Cheon Hyeryeong’s instructions, I sat on a suitably large rock. She then moved behind me.
“From now on, close your eyes and just stay still as if you’re sleeping. I will open all the meridians and energy channels throughout your body.”
Is this what they call “opening the meridians”?
“I’m starting now. Close your eyes.”
I closed my eyes as Cheon Hyeryeong instructed and accepted her touch.
I can feel a warm energy gradually spreading throughout my body from her two hands on my back.
Soon, that energy begins to circulate vigorously throughout my body as if trying to break through something, giving me a refreshing sensation like drinking something to clear a blocked throat after eating.
And so, the meridian-opening process performed directly by the Heavenly Demon continued.
