Ch.28The Mercenary Captain Who Dislikes Women (9)

After safely escorting the pig from Odelin City to the Starting Village,

Holy Knight Liberone parted ways with her Guardian Angel Jack and once again embarked on her journey back to the Order.

After traveling northward for about an hour through the morning mist,

Liberone stopped her horse and looked back.

If she left now, it would be goodbye forever.

Once it was reported that there were no problems in the Starting Village, the Order would never dispatch a Holy Knight there again.

And Liberone would be assigned to other missions, traveling to places completely unrelated to the Starting Village.

Meanwhile, Guardian Angel Jack would struggle in the Starting Village to realize his own cause.

If only I could help him.

If only I could stay by Guardian Angel’s side and be of strength to him.

The relationship between a Holy Knight and a Guardian Angel is difficult to explain clearly.

They could be parent and child, lovers, spouses, or friends.

It’s a relationship that falls into a category that can never be understood by human-made concepts.

That’s why Liberone couldn’t bring herself to leave.

But she had to go. Holy Knights must absolutely obey the Order’s commands.

After hesitating several times, Liberone came up with a good idea.

What if she purged evil entities in the area while heading north instead of going straight back?

For example, bandits who threaten good travelers.

That way, she wouldn’t be too far from her Guardian Angel too soon, and she wouldn’t be delaying her return to the Order without reason.

    A very good idea.

Due to Liberone’s decision, the ruffians around the Starting Village had to face an unexpected calamity.

As Liberone was methodically carrying out her purification, she happened to meet the village administrator again.

At that time, the administrator was hurriedly driving a carriage somewhere alone.

    * * * * *

When Mirella came downstairs in the morning, she sensed something strange.

The first floor shop’s arrangement was different from yesterday.

The counter where Jack had been sitting and researching wasn’t organized at all, and the potion shelves were completely empty.

Her brother was meticulous about organization and would never leave the shop in such a state.

    Where had he gone anyway?

As Mirella looked around the shop, she realized when she saw the completely empty storage room.

    Something had happened overnight.

She immediately ran to the village hall.

    “Administrator! Administrator!”

After pounding on the door hard enough to break it, Mirella couldn’t wait any longer and jumped through the window.

    “Ughh?! Miss Mirella…?!”

The administrator, who was just pushing her overflowing breasts back into her brassiere, was startled.

“What is it, so early in the morning…?”

    “Jack is gone!”

    “Huh…? Gone…?”

    Mirella urgently explained everything.

After listening quietly, the administrator’s eyes widened.

“Oh no, could it be… the Remugen mercenaries?”

    “The Remugen mercenaries?”

“Jack… mentioned that the Remugen mercenaries might target our village or the potion shop… Oh no….”

The administrator collapsed to the floor.

“I’m such an incompetent administrator, I didn’t prepare in time… Jack has been kidnapped….”

As she sobbed with her shoulders shaking, her unfastened brassiere slipped down, revealing the administrator’s enormous breasts.

“Are you sure it’s the Remugen mercenaries?”

“What else could it be? Jack wouldn’t just disappear like that….”

“Then get up quickly! This is no time to be crying! We need to find a solution right away!”

Mirella angrily grabbed the administrator’s shoulders to pull her up.

But the administrator was much taller and heavier than Mirella, making it difficult.

Finally, Mirella took drastic measures and began slapping, pinching, and pulling the administrator’s breasts with her palms.

Only then did the administrator get up like a cow being led by its nose ring and hurriedly put on her clothes.

“What should we do, what should we do, what should we do, what should we do…”

“I’ll gather people. Administrator, report this to the guards and ask for help!”

“Guards… help…. That won’t work…. Odelin City is too far away, and by the time the guards arrive, Jack will probably be beheaded….”

The administrator’s face turned pale as she vividly imagined a hopeless future that hadn’t even happened.

“Hurry and get ready! I’ll gather the knights!”

After Mirella rushed out of the hall, the administrator remained alone, muttering endlessly.

    “I can’t go on without Jack…. I can’t do anything without Jack’s potions…. I need Jack’s potions…. Jack must stay in our village….”

With hollow eyes, the administrator gnawed at her fingernails before grabbing a thick ledger from the bookshelf and rushing out of the hall with it tucked under her arm.

She brought over a horse parked next to the hall, hitched it to a carriage, threw the ledger into the cargo area, and climbed onto the driver’s seat.

    “L-let’s go…!”

When she roughly pulled the reins to start the carriage, the startled horse made such a sudden start that the administrator almost fell backward.

    “Ugh, Jack…. I’m coming…. Please wait just a little longer….”

With each bump of the carriage, the administrator’s breasts bounced up and down as she gnawed on her lips.

    “Whaaaat?! What’s that?!”

Mirella, who was leading Sir Hostante and the other knights, was shocked to see the carriage speeding past them.

“Administrator! Where are you going! Come back right now! What are you trying to do alone!”

“I’m going to rescue him, so please…. stay alive…. Come back safely… and make potions for me again….”

The administrator was barely in her right mind, both from the news of Jack being in danger and from not having drunk any potion all night.

“Everyone, chase after the carriage! We can’t let the administrator go to the mercenaries alone!”

At Sir Hostante’s command, the young knights hurriedly began chasing the carriage.

But it’s impossible for people to catch up to a running carriage.

The carriage carrying the administrator disappeared into the morning mist.

The speeding carriage met Liberone, who happened to be patrolling the area, and after hearing everything, Liberone immediately headed to the baron’s castle where the mercenaries were stationed.

    That was this evening.

Liberone smashed through the castle gate and began methodically beating down all the mercenaries who charged at her.

Even the battle-hardened Remugen mercenaries were no match for an enraged Holy Knight who deployed a holy barrier while wielding a greatsword.

The mercenaries, helpless against Liberone who walked in at a steady pace, retreated past the garden to the inner castle where Adelheid was located.

    * * * * *

Every time a flash of light gleamed through the window, screams could be heard.

A blood-covered mercenary rushed in to report to Adelheid.

    “It’s a Holy Knight!”

    “A Holy Knight?!”

The blood drained from Adelheid’s face.

“D-don’t tell me the Order is directly coming for us…?”

“Please escape quickly…! We can’t hold them back!”

Adelheid turned to me with a face full of despair.

At this point, I had realized that the Holy Knight was Liberone.

So Liberone is coming to rescue me again.

    “You! You made that potion!”

Adelheid grabbed me by the collar as if she wanted to eat me alive.

“Which potion are you referring to?”

“That potion! The strength potion you used when slaughtering the goblins!”

“Ah, yes…. I did produce some, but the quantity is a bit too small for all your mercenaries….”

Adelheid pushed me away and ran out of the dining hall.

Now I should probably make my escape from here.

The potion Adelheid would drink was pig aphrodisiac.

It was a reserve I had been making little by little, planning to use at the right moment as Adelheid gradually fell for my tricks.

Who knew that moment would be now.

I grabbed my coat hanging on the chair and rushed forward, pushing past the mercenaries who were retreating to the dining hall.

    “Liberone!”

Liberone, who had been walking toward us dragging her greatsword on the ground, stopped.

    “Guardian Angel.”

    “Liberone. We meet again.”

    “Are you hurt anywhere?”

Liberone dropped her greatsword and felt my face and shoulders with her gauntleted hands.

Her eyes, usually emotionless, seemed strangely teary.

“I’m fine. You came at just the right time.”

    “I’m glad. I’m truly glad.”

After holding my shoulders for a moment, Liberone picked up her greatsword again.

“Now please stay back, Guardian Angel. The village administrator is waiting in the rear.”

    “The administrator came…?”

But Liberone didn’t answer my question and walked toward the mercenaries again.

The completely terrified mercenaries closed the dining hall door and attempted a useless barricade.

Liberone’s greatsword flashed, and the dining hall door was smashed.

I hurriedly crossed the corridor and went outside.

    “J-Jack…!”

The administrator, who had been pacing in front of the carriage at the castle gate, saw me and hurriedly ran over, only to trip over her own feet and fall flat.

“Administrator? How did you come here alone?”

“I came by carriage…. More importantly, are you alright…?”

    “I’m fine. But how exactly….”

“Uuugh, thank goodness…. I was afraid I might see your beheaded head hanging on the castle wall when I arrived…. If you had died, I would have followed you in death…. Life without your potions has no meaning….”

As the administrator muttered strange things to herself again, I put a potion in her mouth and looked into the carriage’s cargo area.

There was our village’s land rights ledger.

It suddenly occurred to me that the administrator might have come here alone to negotiate a hostage exchange.

Was she planning to sell the entire village in exchange for my return?

This woman is truly crazier than I thought.

    * * * * *

    “Aaaaah! Fall back! Fall back!”

When the dining hall door was smashed, the mercenaries screamed and continued to retreat.

    “Where is the captain!”

“How should I know in this chaos!”

“Captain! We’ve really reached our limit!”

The mercenaries desperately searched for Adelheid.

At that moment, Adelheid was just coming out of the old kitchen that the potion maker had used.

    With a flushed face, staggering.

    “Captain!”

    “I’m… coming…! Stop… rushing me…!”
