Ch.284October Dungeon and Community Work (7)

The boss room was a campsite located on a high plain. There was a serene villa reminiscent of American outdoor lifestyle.

“Ah… seeing a villa like that… reminds me of that previous simulation.”

    Tina said with a smile.

    “Ah… that time.”

It was nice. I wanted to experience it in reality, not just in virtual reality.

And at the entrance of that place, there were terrified aliens.

“Ah!! We’re alive!! Please!! Spare us!!”

    People shouted in panic.

“Shota!! We need to save them!”

Sasix immediately went into hero mode.

    “It’s already… too late.”

I pointed at their necks. They were clearly wearing dangerous necklaces. Bomb collars. Even if we used a glitch to rush over quickly, the bombs would definitely explode. They were just characters programmed to die in the game no matter what. Just… let them go. That’s what extras are for.

“Hey!! Want to remove those bomb collars and live? Then I’ll remove them for you!!”

At that moment, a man wearing animal hides jumped out holding a rifle.

“Run!! If you survive safely, I’ll remove them!”

The man laughed, then released dogs the size of hippos.

    “Woof!! Arf!! Bark!!”

    The dogs immediately charged forward.

    “Kyaaaah!!!”

The aliens immediately ran to avoid the dogs.

    “Grrrr!! Woof!!”

However, it was difficult for humans to outrun the powerful large dogs.

    “Grrrrrr!!”

The dog tore into the alien while it was still alive. Chewing, tearing, tasting, enjoying—it was very enthusiastic.

    “Woof!! Arf!! Bark!!”

Blood and flesh glistened from the dog’s mouth.

However, one guy was lucky enough to successfully escape to a rocky ledge.

    “I, I did it…!”

He breathed a sigh of relief.

    Click-

But those destined to die would die no matter what they did.

    BANG-!!

The Beast Tamer fired his laser rifle without hesitation.

    WHOOSH-!!

The rifle’s laser bullet pierced straight through the alien’s head.

    “Damn it…!”

Sasix clicked his tongue in genuine frustration.

“This way I can feed my dogs while they diet and play. Plus, I get target practice.”

The Beast Tamer said with a smile.

Right. He never intended to let them live from the beginning.

    “You son of a bitch…!!”

Sasix immediately flared up in anger.

“Although I’m under Pink Beard, I’m not particularly interested in invading the planet Earth. But… I’ve changed my mind. There’s a rare creature on this Earth. I must tame it.”

The Beast Tamer looked straight at me.

“A life form that is human but possesses a beast-like inner nature, Arigiri Shota!!! I must tame you!!”

    The Beast Tamer shouted.

“What the fuck!! What nonsense is this!!”

    I immediately got angry.

“Indeed, less evolved. A subspecies of primate perhaps. That ferocity… it would be delightful to control it to my taste!!”

    The Beast Tamer shouted.

“He’s completely lost his mind. Let’s finish him off quickly.”

As if the conversation was over, Sasix immediately tried to bring out his psycho-robo.

    “Come forth!! Plague Doctor!!!”

    Sasix immediately summoned his psycho-robo.

    WHOOSH-!!

Plague clouds swirled from all directions, and the battle began.

    “Urgh….!!!”

The Beast Tamer was affected by the technique. The movements of the Beast Tamer and the surrounding dogs slowed significantly.

    “Let’s go!! Formation Jet!!”

Immediately after, I charged toward the large dog in front of me.

    “Come forth!! Pinocchio Sword!!”

I immediately drew the Pinocchio Sword.

Conveniently, the ground was covered in gravel.

It was the optimal environment to secure friction for a blazing slash.

    ‘Plus… I’ve thought of a new technique.’

I was looking forward to that.

    “Hyaaah!!”

I immediately scraped the Pinocchio Sword against the ground.

    WHOOSH-!!!

The Pinocchio Sword immediately caught fire.

    HISS-!!

The blade burned intensely, emitting steam. Normally this technique would greatly damage durability, but the Pinocchio Sword had infinite durability anyway.

    “Grrrr…!!”

When the hunting dog saw the burning sword, it instinctively backed away. Even as an alien creature, fearing fire was common to all beasts.

    “Now!!”

I immediately created a blade of wind in my hand.

    WHOOSH-!!

And I wrapped the wind around the burning sword.

    WHOOSH-!!!!

The flames were amplified even more by the wind. Just as I thought.

    “Hyaaah!!!”

Riding the momentum of the fierce flames, I swung the sword widely.

    SLASH-!!

As the sword tore through the beast in front of me, the flames blazed and burned its flesh.

    “GRAAAH!!!”

The beast in front of me died instantly. It was the cumulative damage from both the flames and the sword cut.

Sasix… following my instructions, applied debuffs with the Plague Doctor, then hurried to summon six psycho-robos.

    “Go!!!! Lightning Conductor!!”

Sasix immediately raised his hand high.

The Lightning Conductor swung its massive hammer.

    CRASH!!!!!

Lightning struck the Beast Tamer directly.

    “Come forth!!!”

Meanwhile, Sasix summoned other psycho-robos that he controlled as support.

    WHOOSH-!!!

Six psycho-robos struck at the Beast Tamer.

    “Guhak!!”

The Beast Tamer coughed up blood and fell backward.

    “Not… yet!!”

The Beast Tamer immediately blew a horn.

    “GRAAAH!!!”

Monsters sprang out from all directions.

    “Hyaaah!!!”

Kana slashed through the wolf-shaped monsters one after another.

    “Hup!!!”

Tina took care of the enemies Kana couldn’t cut down. As expected of Tina. She was bursting the monsters’ heads with punches and kicks.

    “Fenrir!! Let’s go!!”

Taiga rode on Fenrir, swinging his bat and scattering the monsters’ formation.

    “Umi!! Cast buffs!!”

    I shouted toward Umi.

    “Okay!! Come forth! Cupid!!”

Umi immediately cast comprehensive buffs on me.

    WHOOSH-!

I could clearly feel my stats increasing.

    “GRAAAH!!”

A tiger with razor-sharp fangs charged toward me.

    “Come on!! I’m your opponent!!!”

I swung the burning sword upward from below.

    SLASH-!!!!!

The sword immediately set the tiger’s body on fire.

    “GRAAAH!!!”

However, befitting a large-class monster, it had basic toughness. The tiger tried to regain its posture.

But I expected it wouldn’t die from just that.

    SHING-!

As I disassembled the Pinocchio Sword, I drew the tomato from my waist.

    “Die!!!”

I immediately shoved the tomato into the tiger’s mouth.

    SLASH-!!

The blade pierced through the tiger’s mouth, straight through its brain. The sensation of stirring the brain inside the roof of the mouth was chillingly vivid.

    “G…raah…!!”

    With that, the tiger collapsed.

    “Phew…..”

I had a sense that I’d defeated something incredibly strong, but the enemies in this boss battle respawned infinitely anyway.

    “GRAAAH!!”

As the Beast Tamer blew his horn, enemies respawned again. A prolonged battle would be difficult for us.

    ‘I’m fine though….’

My stamina itself was extraordinarily transcendent.

However, the fatigue of the others was quite noticeable.

But Sasix knew better than anyone when the crucial moment came.

    “Come forth!! Moby Dick!!!”

Sasix dropped Moby Dick to the ground like a meteorite.

    CRASH-!!

Moby Dick’s head drove straight into the Beast Tamer’s body.

    “G….uhak!!”

The Beast Tamer’s posture completely collapsed with that.

    SHING-!

Sasix immediately drew his sword and closed the distance toward the Beast Tamer. Though his attendance was said to be low lately, his training in the dream dungeon seemed to have paid off. His form was clean.

    “Kyaaaah!!!”

Hmm!! Even the battle cry!! Pass!!! Sasix!!!

    SLASH-!!!

The sword cleanly pierced through the Beast Tamer’s neck.

    “D, damn…. Earth people…. are this…. stro…..”

    THUD-!!!

The Beast Tamer couldn’t finish his words and, after his mouth gaped a few times, he collapsed.

    SHING-!

With that, the bodies of the Beast Tamer and the monsters faded away hazily. The safari-type dungeon also gradually faded away.

Thus, we succeeded in clearing the October dungeon as well.

    Ding-!

Everyone’s levels were in the mid-90s, with those who joined early and leveled up quickly reaching the late 90s. Now everyone’s character builds were almost complete.

“Let’s all go back now. Good work everyone.”

    I said.

    “Pinocchio. You did well too.”

I materialized Pinocchio and praised him.

    “Yes. You too, Master…”

    Pinocchio nodded and replied.

    WHOOSH-!

But Pinocchio’s body was still on fire. Still burning, huh? Does he catch fire easily because he’s an unfilial son?

I roughly patted Pinocchio’s body to put out the fire.

    ——

After clearing the dungeon, I wanted to go straight home, but it took quite a while to get home from the zoo.

    “What a pain….”

    I unconsciously muttered.

“Sho, Shota… should I carry you?”

Thumbs-up Man, who clearly looked more tired than me, said.

“Thumbs-up Man!!!! You’re already a precious guy so stop that!!”

I immediately shouted with tears welling up. You really are… a monster at social interactions!!!

“Stop being dramatic and let’s get going.”

At that moment, Kana made a comment. She seems oddly jealous when Thumbs-up Man and I talk.

Anyway, we decided to walk back.

I just hated this rural town where the last train stops at 10 PM…!!!

“Right. Kirtan. Couldn’t we just zoom away on the pirate ship?”

    At that moment, Taiga said.

    “Sorry. Today everyone’s on vacation.”

    Kirtan said.

“Vacation? Weren’t you… more of an exploitative boss?”

    I found that surprising.

“Those guys, they worked for a while at that Earth company called Konami or something. Since then, they’ve been influenced by strange ideas. Five-day workweek, flexible working hours, things like that. I just went along with it because it was troublesome. There’s no one working on the pirate ship today.”

    Kirtan sighed.

It seemed we had no choice but to walk.
