# Chapter 280: Die, You Monster (3)
“Minister, are we perhaps dreaming right now?”
“This is reality, Commander. Accept it.”
Even as I said that, I secretly agreed with the Commander’s sentiment.
And for good reason—with Admiral Lüzhou’s fleet joining the fray, the situation was being pushed further into the abyss of chaos.
“All fleet, commence bombardment! Concentrate all firepower on the Administrator ahead!”
The unified barrage from the mighty Pioneer Empire fleet flew toward the Primordial Emperor, emitting a brilliantly dazzling light. However—
*Swoosh!*
“The target has evaded!”
“How dare that Administrator!”
Perhaps sensing the danger from the simultaneous fire of 14,000 ships.
The Primordial Emperor quickly dodged the bombardment while using his hideous, massive arms to grab Maria and hurl her toward the fleet.
“Ah, the Holy Maiden is flying toward us!”
“Catch her! Catch her!”
Suddenly faced with a continent-sized Ether Dragon flying their way, the Ethernian fleet deployed defensive fields to act as a cushion to prevent their Holy Maiden from getting hurt.
*KWAAAANG!!!!*
When the Pioneer Empire fleet’s barrage ceased, the Primordial Emperor immediately shook off Artraia, who had been biting his arm, by striking her head.
Then, with Ash wrapped around his body, he headed somewhere else.
“Huh?”
“T-that monster is trying to attack our Super Dreadnought!”
And at his destination was Levia, who had not yet recovered from the aftermath of the main cannon fire earlier.
Seeing this, the Capital Defense Fleet’s battleships once again formed a battle line, attempting to block the attack with their bodies.
“…Power charge at 25%. Initiating partial turret fire by sacrificing charging speed.”
Simultaneously, Levia also mobilized her turrets, trying somehow to stop the Primordial Emperor’s advance.
Some battleships even connected tractor beams to Levia—who was far larger than themselves, almost the size of an asteroid fortress—in an earnest attempt to preserve her.
They began pulling hard, though the speed was ridiculously slow, like a turtle.
The Capital Defense Fleet’s thin—
But at that moment.
“Where do you think you’re going, leaving me behind!”
*KWAAAANG!!!*
Along with a powerful breath shot from Artraia’s mouth after she had been knocked away earlier.
Beside her body.
A shower of particle beams formed from compressed particles in empty space caused the Primordial Emperor’s attempt to attack Levia to fail by an extremely narrow margin.
“Now’s our chance! Quickly pull the Super Dreadnought back!”
Wasting the precious time Artraia had bought would have been unthinkable for the Capital Defense Fleet.
All remaining ships were mobilized, somehow managing to pull Levia back and retreat.
Moreover, at that point, the Primordial Emperor’s target was no longer Levia…
———————————–
It was what had until now only been responding with simple defense batteries and missile launchers.
A new weapon recently created but unavailable for immediate use due to various technical issues.
An ultra-ultra-ultra giant cannon made using Dark Age technology acquired from Ethernia and Levia.
The official name, according to Minister Vermut who developed it by incorporating this technology:
“Please call it the Ion Plasma Multi-Spectrum Phase-Modulated Quantum Field Generating Pulse Railgun!!!”
However.
Due to everyone complaining it was too long, it was tragically shortened to “I-Gun,” and as they began activating this superweapon:
“Minister! The enemy is approaching us again!”
“This bastard really doesn’t know when to quit.”
This time, the damn Primordial Emperor was charging recklessly toward us despite the barrage of mega particle cannons(?), anti-ship missiles, and 650mm caliber shells we had set up to protect the Orbital Defense Command.
Rather, because of this, while the shells were eroding the Primordial Emperor’s skin and countering his reverse-erosion…
Ash was driven to the Emperor’s back to avoid the impact of the shells.
‘Does our attack even have any meaning?’
Such thoughts crossed my mind.
If there was any silver lining…
Just before the Primordial Emperor’s bizarre and gigantic body—larger than Russia in my previous life—was about to ram straight into our orbital command:
“Energy transmission connection from Ka’zan’s power plants complete!”
“All orbital defense batteries operational! Ready to fire at any time!”
At this perfectly timed communication, the Orbital Defense Commander grabbed the microphone and shouted at the top of his lungs:
“Fire! Use all ammunition if necessary, but blast that damned monster to hell!”
“Order confirmed, all batteries commencing simultaneous fire!”
And immediately after.
One hundred ultra-large super-alloy shells, each weighing about 8,500 tons and accelerated to 90% the speed of light, directly hit one side of the Primordial Emperor’s head.
The enormous mass of shells totaling 850,000 tons, unable to withstand this tremendous energy, condensed on the surface of the Primordial Emperor.
Creating a spectacular scene reminiscent of that infamous moment from the worst sci-fi movie ever, La*t J*di.
*KWAAAAAAANG!!!!*
With a white flash, we successfully delivered a powerful blow to the Primordial Emperor’s jaw.
Like an uppercut from a boxing manga, the dramatic way the Primordial Emperor’s neck bent gave me an inexplicable sense of satisfaction.
But…
*HWAAEK! WHEEEK WHEEEK!*
“E-enemy still intact! No apparent damage to its skin!”
“It seems the impact affected the interior, but detailed scanning is impossible!”
‘Oh fucking hell.’
What the hell did this son of a bitch Primordial Emperor eat to grow so tough, showing such manly tanking ability?
“Hurry with the I-Gun’s reload! Quick!”
“Barrel cooling in progress! Rapid cooling will take at least 5 minutes to complete!”
And since our Michael Tyson nuclear punch—or rather, the I-Gun spicy punch—would take at least 5 minutes to fire again.
Our fate was truly in a desperate crisis, to say the least.
“Minister, would you like to escape right now?”
“…”
When even Riel was saying such things, you can imagine how bad it was.
But right after that.
“DON’T! TOUCH! ARTO!!!”
Our alpha female Artraia pierced the Primordial Emperor’s back with her proud, massive red horn.
*WHIRRRRRK! KAGAGAGAGAK!!!*
Using that horn as a center point, Ash used his body like a drill to burrow in furiously.
Even the Primordial Emperor’s strong and sturdy skin couldn’t withstand such an assault and was punctured.
Artraia then bit down on the punctured area.
“DIE!”
She fired a zero-distance breath, turning the Primordial Emperor’s insides into a well-done steak.
———————————————
However, despite our offensive, the Primordial Emperor’s power showed no signs of diminishing.
Through continued attacks, we succeeded in inflicting numerous wounds on that once-mighty body.
But in the process, Ash, unable to withstand the Primordial Emperor’s reverse-erosion, retreated.
Having lost many nanomachines, Ash transformed into a ship formation with his remaining swarm and took on the role of supporting Levia with main cannon fire to keep the Primordial Emperor in check.
At the same time, he took on the “tank” role of blocking the Primordial Emperor’s attacks, which other ships couldn’t do.
But despite all this, the situation only continued to worsen.
*KWADDEUK!*
“Battleship Altringen destroyed!”
“Crushing a heavy battleship like a tin can, damn monster!”
Due to the Primordial Emperor’s strange psionic attacks, just 30 minutes into the battle, the Capital Defense Fleet and Ethernian Fleet had lost 30% of their forces, essentially facing annihilation.
Of course, this wasn’t just due to the Primordial Emperor’s attacks.
“The Scourge fleet has arrived!”
“Damn it, stop them!”
Scourge fleets scattered throughout the planetary system had launched surprise attacks to join forces with the Primordial Emperor.
As for our Orbital Defense Command…
-Warning, connection between Orbital Defense Command and orbital elevator disconnected
-All defense systems destroyed, all personnel evacuate immediately
-Repeat, all defense systems destroyed, all personnel evacuate immediately…
Within those 30 minutes, having lost all defensive weapons including the ridiculously long-named “I-Gun.”
With the connection to the orbital elevator severed, we were now aimlessly drifting in Ka’zan’s satellite orbit.
And inside:
“Riel, that’s annoying. Can you turn it off?”
“I’m not Alina, how am I supposed to turn that off?”
“You can do it, fighting!”
While all personnel, including the Purge Unit members and Gaia, had escaped using escape pods.
Only Riel and I remained at the command center, chattering away.
Of course, we weren’t staying behind out of a spirit of self-sacrifice.
“Minister, how did you end up showing such a spirit of self-sacrifice?”
“Huh? I just saw the newly appointed Orbital Defense Commander showing incompetence, so I ejected him as bait and a flare while planning to purge him.”
“…”
After ejecting the command staff first that way.
Then evacuating our precious Purge Unit members and Gaia, we belatedly realized that we had run out of escape pods.
“And honestly, I thought there would be escape pods here. Who would have thought they’d install a panic room instead?”
“…”
Anyway, though it wasn’t my fault, given the situation.
All I could do was beg Riel with an apologetic heart.
