Ch.273Everyday Life After the Fortress Conquest
by fnovelpia
After a very deep period of contemplation (5 seconds), I was finally able to reach a conclusion.
<Option 3: Invite the complainers to the ‘Nest of Life’. (???, Rebellion possibility changed to 0%)><Selected>
‘I don’t know exactly what effect this will have, but reducing the rebellion possibility to 0% makes this the most plausible option.’
Unlike the other options where resistance probability was 50% or 20% with a chance of the entire fortress rebelling, this option completely eliminated any possibility of rebellion.
Who wouldn’t choose an option that prevents rebellion entirely?
With that thought, I relayed my choice to Jessica.
“Then send all those guys to the ‘Nest of Life.'”
“Um… really?”
“Of course.”
I then focused on working diligently on my next plan: ‘Reorganization of the Resource Fleet.’
However, it didn’t take long before I discovered what the “???” hidden in option 3 actually meant…
It meant sending all those who resisted and rebelled against me to become Griyanar’s biological test subjects.
-“Commander, what made you send so many test subjects my way?”
“…”
-“Well, I’m grateful anyway.”
And there wasn’t much to tell after that.
Among those “invited” to the Nest of Life, the extreme rebels now became one with the Nest of Life, living a more fulfilling life for our cause.
The rest were classified according to Griyanar’s system, either becoming materials(!) for producing chimeras or monster soldiers,
Or becoming actual test subjects or being brainwashed before being sent to forced labor camps.
Anyway, as the rebels transformed from being rebels to having “been” rebels, as if waiting for this moment,
An event message popped up before my eyes with a cheerful jingle, indicating that I had completely taken over the fortress and its defensive forces.

<Event>
<Complete Control of Avalon Fortress Achieved!>
<Details>
<All internal rebels have expressed satisfaction with their new lives, eliminating any possibility of internal rebellion!>
<All resistant combat fleets have completely surrendered!>
<All defensive forces and combat fleets now obey Commander!>
<Control of all fortress defense systems has been transferred!>
—————————————-
‘Mmm, yummy.’
Unlike yesterday, today I had already resolved all urgent matters and had time to spare.
So I decided to take a screenshot of the event message and post it on the gallery as proof.

Title: Combat Fleet Takeover Complete
Author: Icarus
Content: [Message showing Avalon Fortress combat fleets surrendering]
yep
lol
Gate repairs already completed, thx
Comments:
-[Oh]
-[Repairs happened really fast, how’d you do it?]
-[Looks like they removed the battleship stuck in the gate]
-[Congrats]
-[City conquest king ftw]

Of course, posting this proof wasn’t simply for bragging rights.
It was to make it clear in advance that “I’m fine, and anyone who messes with me absolutely won’t return alive.”
In other words, it was a kind of “bluff.”
So along with proof of the event message, I naturally wrote in the post that the spaceport gates were “functioning properly” even though only gates 2 and 5 were actually usable.
And perhaps thanks to writing it that way,
Within minutes of posting on the gallery, I could see what’s known as an “apology post” being uploaded, with someone begging for forgiveness.
==========
As the fortress’s defense system was being normalized,
I realized that the systems of our existing base and the fortress had significantly merged.
To give an immediate example… the “shipyard” had greatly expanded.
Previously, the “regular shipyard” had a total of 4 docks, and the “large ship shipyard” had only 1.
But as a result of our base not just docking with the Avalon Fortress but becoming integrated with it:

‘Whoooooa!’
I could see that both the regular shipyard and large ship shipyard had increased by 2 and 1 docks respectively.
Of course, as indicated by the note (Facility provided by fortress) in the description, these facilities could only be used as long as our base maintained its “docked” status with the fortress, but…
‘Do I really need to go anywhere else?’
Unlike other users, I had stayed in one place for nearly two years, showing my tendency to remain stationary.
There was no reason to abandon this newly acquired home and go elsewhere.
So there was no point in worrying about that.
Putting aside such miscellaneous thoughts for now, I continued checking the base facility status.
Not just the shipyard, but the resource warehouse seemed to have integrated with the fortress’s resource warehouse as well.

<‘Icarus’s’ Astral Base Resource Warehouse>
<Currently docked with ‘Avalon Fortress’ resource warehouse>
<Maximum resource storage capacity: 16,500,000 (6,500,000+10,000,000)>
—————————————-
The maximum resource storage capacity had dramatically increased to the tens of millions.
Additionally, original base facilities like the “recreation room” and “training room” seemed to have integrated with the fortress facilities as well.
They had become noticeably larger and more luxurious.
The recreation “room” in particular was no longer just a room but practically a resort.
It had restaurants inside, all sorts of entertainment facilities including an amusement park(?), recreational grounds, an alien zoo…
There was even a virtual reality game, making me wonder what kind of place this had become.
The base’s “resource synthesis production facilities” had also changed significantly… no, enormously.
The “Astral Base” had already been growing larger and larger as its level increased.
Our resource synthesis production facilities were already on a scale that could swallow whole industrial complexes in the real world.
As a result of integrating with the production facilities of the fortress, which was even larger than our base:
“Hmm… is this the current state of our resource synthesis production facility… no, production complex?”
“Yes, thanks to that, the base is on track to produce 30,000 resources per day.”
Now it’s called a “complex” but…
Seeing the massive factory facilities—comparable to covering the entire southern Korean peninsula with factories in my previous life—diligently producing resources on the command center screen,
I found myself nodding in appreciation of the impressive SF scale.
And just as I was thinking that and nodding:

<<<Resource Warehouse Construction Complete!>>>
<Maximum resource storage capacity 6,500,000 ⇒ 7,500,000>
—————————————-
With perfect timing, just as the Air Command construction finished, the resource warehouse construction I had initiated was also completed.
I felt immense joy knowing that the time had finally come to build the final key to moving our base beyond level 7:
The ‘Fleet Association.’
