After the mini-event ended.

    I diligently gathered resources, gathered more, and gathered even more.

    There were some stories on the gallery about certain clans collapsing, but I was too busy clearing faction quests to have time to look.

    Anyway, in just a little over two weeks… no, exactly about 20 days?

    During that time, I had some doubts about how much I could actually gather.

    But by the time the Air Command Headquarters construction was completed, and simultaneously the “Large Aircraft Carrier” repairs were about to be finished…

    “Jessica, report on our current stockpiled resources.”

    “Including the resource boxes you just opened, Commander, we have 3 million minerals and 750,000 rare resources.”

    “Mm, sugoi.”

    Surprisingly, over 3 million resources had accumulated at our base.

    Of course, contrary to my expectations, the reason we gathered so much was as Jessica just mentioned…

    I had opened all the resource boxes that had piled up.

    Separately, I had made a calculation error and failed to account for some resources obtained through “quests.”

    Additionally, I recently cleared a monster faction quest, which gulped down about 100,000 minerals and 10,000 rare resources.

    Anyway, the important thing was that we had gathered quite sufficient resources…

    And to put the final nail in the coffin…

    “Now I’m going to clean out the resources from the trading market~”

    “Wooow.”

    With Jessica’s soulless cheer, including what I had obtained from the mini-event earlier.

    I invested 25,000 gold, more than originally planned, to purchase and open a large quantity of premium resource boxes…

    A moment later.

    <Results of opening 16,700 Premium Resource Boxes from the Trading Market>

    ˪<Acquired 1,997,814 Minerals, 130,561 Rare Resources!>

    —————————————-

    Having obtained just under 2 million minerals and over 130,000 rare resources.

    I nodded my head and decided to check with Jessica exactly how many resources our base currently had.

    “Jessica, report on base resources.”

    “Currently, we have exactly 5,071,952 minerals and 892,594 rare resources.”

    After confirming this tremendous amount of resources that I had never experienced before, I felt truly moved.

    Soon after, according to my original plan, I headed straight to the <Mercenary Dispatch Office> in the base.

    “Oh, Icarus! You haven’t visited in a while.”

    “Mm.”

    “Finally thinking of hiring new mercenaries? We’ve actually received quite a bit of information about mercenary groups formed by some spirited fellows lately.”

    I plopped down on the sofa in front of the dispatch manager who looked like a bartender.

    Without even looking at the catalog he naturally handed over, I boldly said:

    “5 million minerals, 850,000 rare resources.”

    “Excuse me?”

    “I want to hire as many mercenary groups as possible for up to 5 days with this amount, right now.”

    “Excuse me?”

    Of course, my response caused large cracks to appear all over the dispatch manager’s smooth face.

    But that expression didn’t last long.

    Soon after grasping the situation, the dispatch manager, following my words, gave a broad smile, bowed at a perfect 90-degree angle, and quickly began gathering mercenary groups.

    ==========

    And not long after…

    -Bustle bustle bustle

    -Honk honk

    “Wow, there are so many.”

    “Mm, indeed there are.”

    Perhaps because so many mercenary groups had rushed over after receiving the call from the Mercenary Dispatch Office.

    Combined with the existing mercenary groups and the defense fleet sent by Marian, there were so many pirate ships floating nearby that it was almost like a joke to say there were tens of thousands.

    From my perspective, it was quite an overwhelming sight in many ways.

    And speaking of jokes aside, if I actually calculated the numbers…

    —————————————-

    <Mercenary Hiring Status>

    <Currently hiring 512 mercenary groups>

    <Total Ship Types>

    <Battleships: 32>

    <Aircraft Carriers: 18>

    <Battlecruisers: 84>

    <Heavy Cruisers: 210>

    <Light Cruisers: 1,018>

    <Destroyers: 3,100>

    <Escort Ships: 17,470>

    <Patrol Ships: 32,104>

    <Daily Resource Consumption: 808,550 Minerals, 99,581 Rare Resources>

    —————————————-

    Including battleships, aircraft carriers, and battlecruisers, the total exceeded 45,000 ships.

    ‘The effect of paying 5 million minerals and 850,000 rare resources in a lump sum was amazing!’

    To be precise, I paid 2.5 million minerals and 500,000 rare resources as a lump sum hiring fee.

    Anyway, from my perspective, it was a scale that made me feel breathless with joy.

    And in addition to this, there was the ‘Pirate Alliance Defense Fleet’ of about 5,000 ships—exactly about 4,900 and some tens—that Marian had deployed and transferred command to me.

    Plus, Princess Luca had raised a monster fleet of about 30 ships so diligently that it included one medium-large monster of battlecruiser class.

    And finally, my main fleet of 25 ships, including the Kraken and Hresvelgr.

    It seemed like the quantitative scale decreased exponentially as we went down the list.

    If we combined all these fleets, it would take the full effort of a decent small to medium-sized clan to match.

    I decided to set aside about 1,000 ships to guard against any potential base raids.

    Then I planned to lead the remaining 50,000 ships straight to the largest “Tannhäuser Gate Fortress” in this central zone.

    But at this point, opinions suggesting I should modify my plan began to prevail.

    “Oppa, even though your forces are incredibly numerous for a single Commander… Tannhäuser Gate Fortress is really not an option.”

    “I think so too, Commander.”

    “…It’s definitely a bit much, isn’t it?”

    Honestly, when I got scratched back then, I was so enraged that I couldn’t see straight and just wanted to swallow the “largest city” in one gulp.

    But realistically, the defensive forces of the “Tannhäuser Gate Fortress” were at a level that couldn’t possibly be conquered even with my fleet of 50,000 ships.

    “Hmmmm…”

    “Berial and Marian are right, Commander.”

    “You need to remember that the fleet at Tannhäuser Gate Fortress includes thousands of battleships.”

    “The carrier-based aircraft alone from the fortress hangars would number in the millions, and even under my command, that’s an impossible scale.”

    “Plus, if we’re exposed to the fortress’s main gun fire, half the fleet could be wiped out in one shot, oppa.”

    Having given up on the “Tannhäuser Gate Fortress,” which was physically impossible for a single person to siege, we decided instead to target a suitably large and beautiful stronghold nearby.

    One that was “suitably” fortified, had a “suitable” number of ships, and was “suitably” close.

    We decided to lead all our deployed forces toward the place commonly known as “Avalon Fortress.”

    “Alright, let’s go to Avalon!”

    “Yes.”

    ==========

    Meanwhile, at the same time Icarus was happily heading toward Avalon with a fleet of about 50,000 ships…

    Suddenly moving through the central zone as a clan unit

    Annoying, right?

    Is it time for the pranksters to normalize another clan?

    A passing user who spotted Icarus’s fleet was proudly taking an aggressive stance and gathering raid members.

    Apparently, in the central zone, solo play was generally not tolerated except for “small friendly clans.”

    Following the miraculous logic that 50,000 ships = definitely not a small clan of fewer than 10 people, must be larger = therefore must be attacked!

    The reactions of pranksters who believed that “clans” should be attacked were gradually emerging.

    But…

    With someone’s pointed observation, the pranksters’ aggressive stance disappeared.

    In its place, interest began to emerge throughout the gallery about who this crazy person was, leading 50,000 ships alone.
