Ch.257This Year’s Outstanding Employee, Shota (4)
by fnovelpia
“Chunjat!!”
I immediately entered the Dagger Dungeon.
‘Rescue survivors. 0/50’
Perhaps due to my previous actions, a sub-quest window appeared right away.
The orcs and survivors reset every time. If that’s the case, the proficiency I could gain from rescuing all survivors each time would be 10 multiplied by 50, which is 500. Theoretically, if I completed two full runs, my dagger proficiency would hit 1000. This was much easier than just beating up orcs.
It was a decent reward, considering the survivors were complete idiots.
“Chweeeek!!”
“Chweeeek!!”
Orcs were wandering around everywhere.
‘First, I need to clear a path by reducing the number of orcs.’
I immediately drew my dagger. Honestly, it was terrible as a main weapon, but at this point, I could use pretty much anything as a deadly weapon.
I quietly approached an orc, and as it turned a corner, I stabbed the blade into its neck.
Squish-!!
Blood spurted like a fountain from the orc’s neck.
“Chweuuk…!”
Due to its throat being cut, the orc couldn’t scream loudly.
Thud-!
The orc collapsed face down.
Immediately after, I threw the orc’s corpse toward other orcs ahead.
Whoosh-!! Crash-!!!
The orcs toppled like bowling pins when their comrade’s body unexpectedly flew at them.
“Come at me all at once!! You bastards!!”
I charged at them with my dagger drawn.
“Uryaaaaaaah!!!”
With a single breath, I identified all their weak points. I put strength into my waist and swung the dagger.
Slash-!!!!
As I swung the dagger, the orcs’ bodies were cut into pieces.
“Nobody can stop me!!”
I ran toward the orcs with my dagger in hand.
———
Since I had to clear a path teeming with orcs, there was tremendous slaughter wherever I went. My path was a trail of blood.
Eventually, I arrived at the central ritual site where I had previously rescued survivors. There were three survivors to be found here. Three in a nearby house, four in the house next to it, making a total of ten I planned to lead out.
“Ah!!! Goddess! Thank you!!”
“Thank you!!”
The people burst into tears and shouted.
I immediately cut their bindings with my dagger.
But…there was a problem.
“Please save us quickly!!”
These guys would freeze in panic whenever they saw orcs. That was the infuriating part.
Then, I had a brilliant idea.
‘Wait. If I just lead them to outside the castle, it counts as rescuing them.’
There was no need to persuade them and carefully guide them. I could just move them like luggage.
However, if I just carried them, they would struggle and cause trouble on my back.
“Everyone! Please follow my instructions calmly!”
I shouted loudly.
“Please!! Save us!!”
But the people wouldn’t listen. I had expected as much.
While they were distracted, I picked up a club from a nearby orc corpse and approached them.
Crack-!!
I swung the club and shattered one guy’s ankle.
“W-wait! What are you doing!!!”
Crack-! Snap-!!
Then I broke the arms and legs of the other survivors.
“Kyaaaaaaah?!!”
The survivors screamed in agony as their limbs were suddenly broken.
“Don’t worry!! This is medical treatment!!”
I proudly declared.
“What medical treatment?! You crazy bastard!!”
One of the survivors cried with tears and snot running down his face.
“Alright!! I’ll safely transport everyone outside!!”
I immediately hoisted the three survivors like sacks of rice.
With their limbs shattered, I could now handle them as I pleased. Like luggage. They wouldn’t troll me by panicking and running off in random directions or freezing in place.
“Ah!! I should have done this from the start!!”
A wave of elation swept through my body as I realized this clever solution. I immediately sprinted through the fortress.
“A human!! Chweeeek!!”
“He’s escaping with the sacrifices!!”
The orcs blocked my path.
“Yakuza Kick!!!”
I put all my weight into a front kick.
Crack-!!
As the orcs collapsed in a heap, I headed for the exit.
Finally, I successfully reached the outside of the fortress. Since the orcs only roamed inside the fortress, this area was safe.
“There! You’re all safe now!! Go live your lives!!”
I released them immediately.
“Kuheuuk….crazy bastard…..!!”
“Uheuuk….kueuuk….!”
The survivors began crawling away. Come on. They would have died at the hands of the orcs if they had stayed there, right? Arms and legs are nothing. Being alive is what matters.
Ding-!
The rescue trigger activated.
My dagger proficiency increased by 30.
“Great!! Let’s go this way!!”
I held my dagger and kept an orc club at my waist for limb-breaking purposes.
———
I headed toward the survivors in a nearby house.
“Chweeeek!! Chweek!!”
Orcs were everywhere, but there was no need to worry.
Why? Well…because I had the limb-breaking tactic.
“Everyone, don’t worry!! I’m here to save you!!”
I said with a smile.
“Thank…you.”
Despite their words, the survivors’ expressions were filled with distrust. That was because the club in my hand was dripping with blood. Tsk. This is why perceptive brats…
Right after rescuing the survivors, the motion of breaking their arms and legs with the club followed smoothly.
Crack-!! Snap-!!
“Kyaaaak!!!”
“You son of a bitch!!!”
After confirming the survivors were incapacitated, I immediately hoisted them up.
“Let’s go!!”
I leaped high while breaking through the horde of orcs.
In this way, I rescued the survivors one by one. The steady increase in dagger proficiency was a nice bonus.
Moreover, as my dagger proficiency increased, the weapon’s efficiency seemed to improve dramatically. This made clearing a path even easier.
Slash-!!!
With each swing of the dagger, the orcs’ limbs were severed more easily. Now I could almost use it like a regular sword.
But…for some reason, rumors about a crazy limb-cutting maniac had spread among the survivors. Wait. They were held hostage, right? How did the rumors spread? I was genuinely curious.
“Kyaaaak!! It’s him!! That club villain!!”
“Save me!!”
The bound survivors were desperately trying to escape from me. How disappointing.
“Be quiet!!”
However, I couldn’t give up the pleasure of breaking limbs. I swung the club and broke their arms and legs.
“Let’s go!!”
Afterward, I focused on rescuing survivors. I deserved a commendation, honestly.
Ding-!!
There was a reward for diligently rescuing survivors. My dagger proficiency shot up to around 500.
“Ooooh!! Nice!!”
I celebrated my achievement.
I decided to call it a day and exit the dream dungeon.
“Not yet…not yet enough…”
Green Beard was busy growing his pumpkin. By now, the pumpkin occupied about a quarter of the dream dungeon lobby. How did he grow it so big?
Anyway, with nothing else to do, I left. Sasits and Frill seemed to still be in the dungeon, training combined with a date.
‘Well. As long as they’re working hard.’
Sasits was a first-class combatant after all. If he had been slacking off, my iron fist of fury would have flown.
‘I’ll handle the community management diligently!!! For the fate of this world!!’
With that resolution, I left the dungeon.
Somehow…I understood my father’s feelings. It was like feeling motivated to work after seeing your child studying hard at night.
And so my day came to an end.
——–
“So this is Earth…!!”
At that time, Galactintin had arrived on Earth. Naturally, he was disguised as an Earthling.
He had already done his research. He had thoroughly investigated Arigiri Shota’s surroundings.
Click-! Click-!
Galactintin took pictures and posted them on social media.
‘Arrived on Earth! Coming to such a backwater planet for business…the life of a working adult is tough.’
After appropriately portraying himself as a hardworking office worker, Galactintin closed his phone.
‘Arigiri Shota is currently not at home. So….’
A vile smile spread across Galactintin’s face.
‘It’s time to inform his wife and concubines about the existence of their new husband!!’
Enslaved by his desires, Galactintin attempted to break into Arigiri Shota’s empty house.
However, Galactintin overlooked one thing.
Shota’s wives were also first-class combatants. They were not opponents Galactintin could handle.
“Uhahaha!! Hello!! Pretties!!”
Galactintin tore off the front door and entered.
He wanted to see the terrified expressions of Earth’s beauties. That was Galactintin’s desire.
However, that desire was immediately shattered.
“Huh…!”
Something was approaching like a flash of light.
Swoosh-!
It took only a moment for Kana, holding a wooden sword, to close the distance.
Crack-!!!
The wooden sword Kana swung cleanly split Galactintin’s skull.
“Kuhaaaaak!!!”
Galactintin collapsed and lost consciousness.
“Wait. Isn’t it a bit much to attack without warning?”
Eri asked with a concerned expression.
“He’s obviously a burglar. He broke down the front door.”
Kana calmly replied while lightly swinging her wooden sword.
“What should we do? Turn him over to the police?”
Umi asked.
“No…this guy. His body is changing?”
Taiga poked Galactintin’s body.
Due to the severe damage, his disguise as an Earthling had come undone. He was clearly an alien.
“Is he one of Pink Beard’s subordinates?”
Tina said.
“Then let’s restrain him and…contact Shota.”
Kana suggested.
And so, Galactintin became a prisoner.
